Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

Fatecrashers once ive entered a freind code do i just enter the wifi room and click single level 100? im not sure what to do once ive entered a freind code. i guess im kind of defining the title "simple questions"...

Two questions:

1) If you change the time and date on your DS (especially into the future), in what all ways does it mess up time/day based events in the game?

2) If both the parents have the same nature and are holding Everstones, what's the probability of inheriting that nature?

For day based events like the bug catching contest you'll be able to speed up the process by changing it to the next bug catching day. For time based events like getting a massage from Daisy once a day, your DS will still count 24 hours internally so changing the day affects nothing.

2) If both the parents have the same nature and are holding Everstones, what's the probability of inheriting that nature?

This doesn't stack. It's still 50%.

OK thanks, but say I change the date to sometime next week, and then change it back to todays? Would all events work normally in the middle days after that?

I don't see why not.

@johannart: Instead of asking such open-ended questions here in the forums go to the main Smogon website where there's a Tournament section describing how tournaments here work, and the Articles section contain many helpful guides to different team choices.

Fair point. Still doesn't warrant the use of such a set on Azelf, though. If Metagross stays in on you, that's even worse, it gets free Rocks in the worst case scenario.

Um, i guess if your local area is flooded with Grass leads (Spiker Roserade springs to mind), then i suppose, but it would be rather specialized and in the grand scheme of things, better off with the regular set. Also, it's kind of self contradictory, you say you want to stop set up, yet you forgo Taunt? That doesn't make sense to me.

EDIT: Actually, i take back what i said about keeping Ice Punch for Grass Types. Mind blanked and i forgot Fire Blast does the same job, or Flamethrower for more accuracy. So yeah, don't bother.

My original plan is to use sacrifice Azelf to make the game at least become a 5v5 game while my enemy would not be able to do set ups and use U-turn to switch into some fire type when i met Skarmory and Metagross. As for the Taunt, I didnt forget it but I fear that the lead will be switched out into something else and comes back few turns later. So i wanted to erase them permanently.

I guess i was too naive to think everything will be going so simple. The comments really gave me a wake up slap lol.

So if I understand what you're trying to accomplish, you want to take out your opponent's lead right off the bat without it setting up entry hazards. I can only think of one way of accomplishing that. You could use an Arena Trap Pokémon, or you could use Shadow Tag in Ubers. Although common leads like Azelf and Aerodactyl are immune to Arena Trap so that won't work too well.

My one idea would be using Gengar, Jynx, Honchkrow, Absol, or Mismagius with Taunt, Mean Look, Perish Song, and either Protect or Substitute. Of course you could use Smeargle as well.

Why are both the stat boxes blank? It's likely the cause.

That definitely does seem like the problem, but if it isn't the stats, make sure the defending Pokémon isn't level 1.

And for the record, the damage output should read 105.3% - 124.4% in case you needed to know that calculation

Does Magic Coat reflect things like spikes, toxic spikes and stealth rock?
it didn't see whether or not it did in the move description

--thanks in advance :)

I haaaaaaaaaaattte stealth rocks. Makes me not want to play the game sometimes. In anyone's experience, whats the most reliable pokemon for spinning? Im thinking something the opponent wouldnt want to send a spin blocker in on. I used to be into payback forretress but it never ohko's rotom and forget doing anything substantial to dusknoir.

LO Starmie is better in my opinion, hit them with Hydro Pump on the switch in for the 2HKO, or you could just run a fast Taunter like Aerodactyl to stop them setting up rocks in the first place.

You could always use an extremely fast Taunt user, such as Electrode or Crobat. But the first Rapid Spin users that came to mind after Forretress were Starmie and Tentacruel naturally. What you can do is use a Tentacruel with lots of special bulk so Rotom is much less threatening, along with Gengar to a lesser extent, and use Rapid Spin along with Toxic Spikes so you can set up your own hazards if you predict them to switch a Ghost in. Tentacruel doesn't have any Ghost attacking moves, and the only Dark attacking moves it has are Payback, Knock Off, and Thief, although if you want to take out a Ghost type trying to block Rapid Spin, you would be best off with Hydro Pump or Surf, unless you are using Swords Dance. Another option is to use something unpredictable like Armaldo which has access to Rock Polish, Swords Dance, and Rapid Spin, so you could attempt to sweep or Rapid Spin with it.

I like the tentacruel idea. Absorbing toxic spikes is niiice too.
Taunt doesnt cut it because in most cases theyll be able to get their rocks up later if thats all I'm depending on.
