What's a creative FGW core for UU? I was thinking something with a Tangrowth, but I can't fill in the other spots. Also, who can easily break down a FGW core in UU?

This poor guy is asking for creative FGW cores but keeps getting answered with common cores.

Try Nasty Plot Houdoom/Knock OffTangrowth/Utility Blastoise or Sp. Sweeper Moltres/Rock Polish Torterra/Sp. Wall Slowking

As for my question, I have advice to ask on a Swampert I bred regarding its IVs (whether or not to keep it), but the front page post noted these kinds of questions aren't allow in this thread. It linked to a thread where such questions were appropriate, but the link is broken. Can anyone point me to the missing thread or one like it?

I know RNG is Random Number Generator, but I don't understand the significance. Could someone explain the benefits of RNG abuse as opposed to PokeSav-ing?
I don't quite understand RNG at all.

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75202 might help.

EDIT: Nevermind, look at Fatecrashers' below my post.

Manipulating the RNG allows players to get pokemon with perfect IVs and nature, without hacking. This means that it will pass a hack check at VGC events. Pokesav allows a player to do the same thing, but involves hacking the game, a process which many players are averse to, as it takes out all of the effort that RNGers do to get great IVs and nature.

If you RNG a pokemon, you never EVER have to worry about failing a VGC Hack Check. If you sav it... props to you man, but I hope you did it right (unlike 2 people at the World Championship this year.)

In addition to what mattj said, just about everyone on Smogon will not accept a sav'd pokemon in a trade, and if they find out you knew it was sav'd when you gave it to them...

Hoo, boy, nice knowin ya.

EDIT: Me in particular, I'll bite your digital head off.

When is the end of game generated? I know that for example when 2 Pokémon are vulnerable to Sandstorm and both have less then 1/16 HP, i causes a tie. However, would it happen, when 1 Pokémon was knocked out by Sandstorm and the second would be knocked out because of status?

Thx for you answers!

I know Gen.4 is coming to a close, but can I ask why there are no physical Victreebel sets in the analysis?

It gets Leaf Blade, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance, Knock off (albeit not the best but still physical) and the ever-common Return as physical options and it can use Sunny day to boost its cruddy speed. Not to mention its attack is 10 points higher than its special attack.

Is there some reason why Victreebel is preferred as special?

Best way to find out? Submit a physical Victreebel into Quality Control and see what they say about it. Otherwise it's simply that no one cares about NU.

PS Don't make all your posts look like mildew it's kind of annoying.

because Return/leafblade/Suckerpunch dont offer something you could call good coverage its walled by so many pokes that its just not worth it.

Hey, I know this answer can vary but bear with me here...assuming you win all of your battles, how many battles on average would you have to win to get in the top 100 or so on Smogon's Shoddy Server? I know it depends on who you battle, what their ladder ranking is, etc. but I'm just looking for an estimate. Thanks a lot!

I'm looking to complete the game, and I was wanting to ask something.

Is there a suggested team for Battle Tower battles 50-100?

I have tried using these teams:

Starmie, Electivire, Salamence
Mespirit, Drapion, Garchomp
Starmie, Garchomp, Snorlax

If some on could help me, I would be very thankful.

This thread shows the teams of people with the longest battle frontier streaks on smogon. I recommend clicking the links of the teams to get some insight as to how they are used correctly.

I'm trying to pokesav myself a Secret Key to open the Galactic Warehouse secret room to gain access to the Rotom-formes. At first I just deposited the key into my inventory, but the room wouldn't open.

I asked about it in this thread, and someone told me I'd have to use pokesav to actually give myself the event. So I tried that as well. The room still won't open.

I went into Mystery Gift Edit. I was able to get the .pcd file for the Secret Key Wonder Card, but the .pgt file for the event was nowhere to be found. I manually set the Gift Slot to 1, the Corresponding Card to slot 3 (which where I opened the .pcd file), set Gift Type to Item, and Item to Secret Key. Then I visited the green-suited man in the pokemart, got my key, and went to the room. It still won't open.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks BurningMan for your quick and simple response.

As for Fatecrashers, I like it so tough cookies. You're the only one who's complained about it so it can't be that annoying.
This looks more like mildew anyways.
And if it doesn't to you, well blame Google.

I'd like to formally and respectfully say that I also find it really damn annoying.

We would need to know the details of the rest of your team. Movesets, EV spreads, etc. We can't just blindly give you help. Both occupy different team spots.

You're right, saying something's really damn annoying is very respectful. And it's very formal. Nice to meet you too, BLA. *shakes hand*

I just don't like the plain flat black everyone else has. It's boring.

But I digress. This IS a Pokemon website after all, not a let's-talk-about-other-people's-font-choice-athon.
Can any Pokemon use the move Role Play to be a successful pseudo-tracer like Porygon2?
You'd think that someone ought to be able to put it to decent use.
