Assuming that my Virizion only purpose is to sweep would a Work Up set with Naive nature, Giga Drain, Close Combat and HP Ice be viable? Any suggested ev spread?
If you want to sweep with Virizion, you really need to run SD, as with base 90 Atk stats, Virizion needs more boosts to be effective. Running Work Up wouldn't be very effective, as although a mixed sweeper is nice, without the SDef boost from CM Virizion will probably die before getting enough boosts.

It does indeed work, the calm mind spDef boost is unecessary, Virizion has enough spDef as it is to effectively run a mix set so it can forgo Focus Blast's shitty accuracy. Anyways, you can say the same about CM Virizion since you won't be taking out Virizion with special hits anyways, lol.

How exactly do I get trainers in my Black City or Pokémon in my White Forest? According to Serebii, there should be some trainers/Pokémon there without interacting with any other game, but there are no trainers in my Black City. I tried to use the Entralink, but when I went down the bridges, my games weren't able to detect each other (I was in the Entralink in both Black and White - I was on a bridge in one, and in the main area in the other).

If you attack a Pokemon who has +6 evasion and Snow Cloak with Blizzard in hail conditions, will you ever miss?
Blizzard under hail conditions won't miss.

Besides: Do Endure and Protect run the same counter? Will one move fail when having used the other one?

Endure, Protect, and Detect all run on the same counter. Therefore, using one of those moves and then using another one consecutively will reduce the chances of the move succeeding by 50 percent.

You just have to talk to the people in White Forest/Black City. To connect using entralink, one person must be in a city around the entralink and the other must be on the bridge. The entralink doesn't work if both people are in the entralink.

To add on, Quick Guard and Wide Guard also run off the same counter.

TM13IceBeam is correct in saying those two run off the same counter. However, Professor Lamb is incorrect. In the fifth generation, the consecutive use of moves such as Endure, Protect, Detect, Quick Guard, and Wide Guard do NOT decrease by 50%. Instead, after the first use of such a move, each consecutive use remains at a stagnant 50%. It doesn't ever go below that.

This is how it was the previous generation and I think all generations prior

You are both incorrect, as I've already pointed out in my warstory. Every last site I've gone to (except Serebii, which is well known for being unreliable and its hard to tell whether it says it says that it stays stagnant or implies it keeps degrading).

In Gen IV, protect had an inaccuracy cap of 12.5%. The change to Gen V has actually removed that cap, so consecutive protects are less likely to work than ever.

As for a good damage calculator for B/W, the one in this thread is excellent.

EDIT: For clarification, just go to this Bulbapedia page; it explains it in the easiest to understand way of all the sites I've visited:

It can't kill Multiscale (active) Dnite. Specs Shadow Ball has no chance to kill Latios, even with SR.

If you meant "counter Jolteon", say so beforehand.

LO Deoxys-S is okay, but it simply lacks the power for Full-HP revenge kills. It does have a very viable movepool, but you're better off using the Hazards set-up set. I used a Choice Specs Deoxys-S once, and it did fairly well. X3

The team has hazards support. Its main purpose is to revenge Jolteon and to beat up blissey, and maybe sweep late game. I'm also thinking of OTR Reuniclus

I've been away from the competitive metagame for a few months now and I'm struggling to get back into it. Can anyone recommend some specifically relevant RMTs or articles that will help bring me back to speed?

Yes, it does.

Is anyone familiar with how they got the World Ability Ribbon from the Wi-Fi tower in Gen IV? I'm trying to climb it in my HG version but it's apparently nigh-impossible while using the Pokemon I want to get the ribbon on.

However, I'm at Rank 10 from years ago on my Diamond version. Could I just lose until I get down to Rank 4, then win seven in a row to get to Rank 5 and get the ribbon? Or does passing every rank after that give you the ribbon?

EDIT: Or can I use the "Challenge earlier room" option and fight through Rank 4 to "get to" Rank 5 and obtain the ribbon?

Yes, it does.
Magnezone @ Leftovers
Magnet Pull
Timid
- Discharge
- Flash Cannon
- Thunder
- Volt Switch

Seaking @ Expert Belt / Life Orb
LightningRod
Timid
- Surf
- Substitute
- Ice Beam
- Rain Dance

I was thinking of giving this a try for my very first Battle Subway team. The gimmick seems pretty simple: use Discharge and Rain Dance on the first turn to power up for sweeping while covering weaknesses. I would appreciate suggestions for the other team mates and for any changes.
