I current have a Skarmory as a lead for my HO team. Which four of these moves should be on the set? Roost, Brave Bird, Spikes, Stealt Rock, Roar

I do not want to be taunt bait, but my team has issues with BP teams. What do you guys suggest????

I would go with roost, brave bird, roar/whirlwind, and sr/spies.
It's really a matter of what threats your team has. Dnite? Sr is the best to go. Heatran? Spikes.

Firstly, always use whirlwind over roar. It may seem trivial (really it is) but Soundproof Pokemon are affected by the former yet not the latter.

Second, Whirlwind would probably be best if you want to counter BP on an HO team. Either you reset all their boosts or you switch yourself out to something that can (most likely) OHKO Fraileon.

Other than that, Roost is a necessity on all Skarm, and between SR/BB/spikes, it's up to you. Optimally you would run Spikes/BB, with SR on another Pokemon, but if you absolutely can only run hazards on him, it comes down to personal preference. I would suggest one type of hazard and BB in nearly all circumstances unless you're really good at countering Taunters and regaining lost momentum (though Whirlwind can help some with that one)

Does anyone know what the pink little face is on the pokemon status screen? I had pokerus on my Hydreigon then when it wore off I had the pink little face next to the markings box. Being on deployment it is rather hard to look things up since our bandwidth is so slow. I think it is Max happiness but it is only a guess. Thanks for the help any and all.

i would go with spikes becaue spikes are more exclusive, which means you can find a poke on your team who can learn sr (if you need it)

@above
the smiley face indicates your pokemon had pokerus and was cured from it. sort of like "i got vaccinated" sort of thing

To expand on what Bluemon said, the smiley face does not mean the effects of PokeRus went away. If you have the smiley, you still get double EVs. The only thing that changed is that your Pokemon can no longer pass the virus along. If you haven't already, I suggest having a dedicated infector who you store in your Box at all times except when passing to other Pokemon for ease of training (The way PokeRus is cured is by staying outside of the box for a day straight)

I currently would like to make a competititve team consisting of Gastrodon, Rotom-Cut, Tyranitar, Gyarados, Scizor, and Heatran. However, Heatran is Calm-natured and must know Stealth Rock (capable only through a 4th Gen. TM), so it is difficult to find someone who has a Heatran meeting my requirements and it will take awhile to run through a fresh new game to obtain one.

Now for my question. What would be a decent substitute for Heatran (in terms of team synergy and role in the team) until I am able to obtain the one I need?

If it helps to answer the question, the full analysis of the team is in the link in my signature (but you do not have to feel obligated to post there).

i can see that heatran is your sun check, and volcarona check. a good replacement would be a specially defensive empoleon. although you are now neutral to fire attacks (and grass), you so get some good resists. you can run a set of (toxic-roar-scald-stealthrock) with a 252hp/252sp.def calm spread.

this would mean that you would probably substitue gastrodon.

to be quite honest, heatran has a very nice niche as a sun counter, which no other pokemon can boast.

you can also try specially defensive altaria (lol) which is quite underrated.

edit: blissey works

Hahah, I suppose I never really knew how much of a sun check it is, since I never really envisioned the team without it. In any case, since the team is actually centered around Gastrodon, Heatran's primary focus should be the defensive pivot its typing provides as well as being an alternative to Scizor for nuking Grass-types. Stealth Rock is nice to have, but I would settle for a pokemon that could do the other two things I mentioned first.

Of course, I know that looking for a pokemon that can contend with Heatran's unique typing/resistances is a tall order, but I need to see what I can do.

Why would we be looking for a Pokemon that defends against Sun-based teams when four of the team's Pokemon resist Fire-type attacks? Sure, Heatran probably does it better than all four of them combined, but I would say that this team has it covered relatively well.

If you're looking for something like Heatran, maybe try Empoleon? It can set up Stealth Rock to add an extra dimension to your team, or take a Draco Meteor (when running SpD) and retaliate with Ice Beam. Just a thought!

True. I guess I am not thinking very straight tonight.

Empoleon may not be so bad... Taking from both of your suggestions of it, perhaps a Specially Defensive set with Scald/Ice Beam/Roar/Stealth Rock? I can see my team having some issues with Celebi, however, if Scizor is gone or cannot get in a good hit.

i already mentioned empoleon... -_-

andd... sun teams's main sweepers are usually grass type.. every single one of the team members on that team is hit super effectively by grass/fire (many chlorophyll pokes use hp fire) except gyarados which means you are super weak to sun.

super. weak

empoleon and altaria are good.

altaria x4 resists grass (gastrodon) and gastrodon takes ice attacks well

Eek! My apologies. I should really get some sleep.

One of the silliest things I've ever tried is Heatproof Bronzong. While it doesn't have much offensive presence, it takes Fire-type attacks (even under the sun) moderately well. It's true that it won't stand up to Earthquake, but neither did Heatran.

Infernape could potentially work as an offensive threat who resists Grass and Fire-type attacks while being able to toss out Stealth Rock if needed.

Victini is an interesting choice in that it can run a variety of sets while using U-turn to gain momentum. It is, however, weak to Stealth Rock, and your team is lacking a spinner / Magic Bounce. It patches up your Celebi weakness rather well while resisting threats like non-Shadow Ball Reuniclus and Grass-types.

Skarmory isn't a terrible idea either. Even though it hates HP Fire, it can usually survive (it WILL if Sturdy is up), and hit hard with Brave Bird. It can set up hazards and phaze as well.

I start another time to play with XD gale of Darkness to found good pokemon with special moves, and I like to get a good Mew that use the moves hypnosis, fake out and seismic toss; some one has some good idea about that? I'd like to know miimum IV, Ev sprea, and srategy

for nw I've found a mew with those iv:

Nature: rash

Hp: 27-28-29
Atk: 27-28-29
Def: 30-31
SpA: 24-25-26
SpD: 17-18-19-20-21-22-23
Spe: 30-31

what do you think about that? have to continue to reset the game (it's on from 30 hours)

Thanks in advance

That's pretty good, but maybe you should ask someone in This Forum

thanks, but wht I need is a strategy on this Mew, becaus, I'd like to do something with it' special moves hypnosis, fake out and seismic toss; some idea about that?

EDIT: it as a rash nature

can you post set eand strategy please?

EDIT: what about a set tha use seismic toss, hypnosis, soft boiled and shadow ball (fr the ghost)?

Your Mew has good IVs but rash is a bad nature for a defensive set. I'd reset for a better nature (bold\timid\calm) if possible.

What do you think is the best use for a Calm Mew in 5th gen? I have a fully-flawless Calm Mew that I RNG'd for in 4th gen, but I don't see Calm listed anywhere in the 5th gen analysis.

Also, there is no way to move multiple Pokémon at a time in the PC in HG/SS/B/W (or re-order boxes), is there? I have no idea why they would remove this feature from the game... :(

Transform or CM Mew looks good. And you can't reorder or move multiple pokes in HGSS unless you drag them one by one into the box view.

Stupid question: I don't have access to PO while I'm out, nor Wifi for battling anyone. Is there a place inside the game where 6-on-6 matches are available? I knew of one in soul silver (Blackthorn was it? Some sort of Battleground place), but what about Black?
