I'm just learning how to RNG in Emerald to try and get a decent Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza (among others).

I'm gonna be going for the 8:40.71 Jolly Rayquaza set. I found on the forums someone saying there was an 84 frame delay (1.4s). So the time I press A to talk to Rayquaza is 8:39.31

But when does the clock start? When the game turns on? Or when I enter the game from the load file screen? Some other time?

Any tips on hitting the exact millisecond?

In regards to counters for Mewtwo, wouldn't he be a great counter to himself? If someone sends out Mewtwo, it should go like this.

1. Opponent's Mewtwo uses Amnesia
2. You send out your Mewtwo
3. Opponent's Mewtwo uses Amnesia
4. Use submission/Hyper Beam (Hyper Beam if it would OHKO)
5. Opponent uses Blizzard
6. If you used Submission, use Hyper Beam.

Would your Mewtwo still be alive after on psychic? I'm not sure how well a non boosted special would deal against a 999 special, but surely even not boosted his Special attack is so beast that it would survive? Again, not sure. Those moves also depend on which Mewtwo go first, as I'm assuming both would have the same speed. I've only recently started playing RBY in this way, so I'm not sure.

And also, if your Mewtwo wouldn't survive the 999 Blizzard, then couldn't our Mewtwo use Amnesia as well and even the field? After it's maxed, the opponent's Mewtwo wouldn't totally destroy ours, or would there just not be enough time to get off the attacks? But if that's the case, Recover should be used, as then we would heal up.

Again, I haven't tested this at all, and am just wondering if this would be a viable Mewtwo counter. So sorry if this is seen as obnoxious.

Ok, I have a question. Did you realize that Pokemon was going downhill when you saw Luvdisk in 3rd Generation? Lol, cause it certainly seemed that way to me. I'm old school Pokemon and IMO the developers didn't tap into their creativity as much as they did in the first 2 Gens. They just scribbled on a page and gave it some ridiculous name like Luvdisk. :D

I don't think they went downhill. I actually remember the third gen as the best, followed by the second. Although I don't really think you will get a balanced set of opinions in the nostalgia section of the forums.

can i migrate a pokemon from emerald to a 4g game and then trade it to someone who has a cheating device so they can find my SID (secret ID)

is it allowed for sid checking on these forums and to request it or is that not good? and if so could you or anyone you know help me with this?

Yes, that is considered a Legal Hack, which means the Pokemon is not actually changed. Go check in the Wifi forum, probably the Simple Requests thread, and there will be people there who will do it.

Flying always makes for an easy playthrough. It really depends on how hard you want it. Another option is Rock, which can be done easily enough. It's just a shame you only get Larvitar at Mt. Silver.

A lot of people say they use Bug monoteams in the 3rd gen games. Also, water is viable in any generation. Really anything can be done, short of Dragon or maybe Steel, depending on what you like.

No. It does not damage your game, because everything is confined to the double which stores the HP stat. The only exception is FRLG, where the status display screen can be slightly messed up. There is no lasting damage, however.

more importantly, the move tutors and stuff like return. Also why would you bother selling the game for like nothing anyway.

In RBY, a high speed stat meant a higher CH rate. Does that mean I can boost the CH rate by using Agility?
And does the same work in GSC?

OK, so I'm about three going on four badges through a runthrough of Emerald, and I'm in a bit of a dilemma. For my Dragon-type, do I want Flygon or Altaria? Here's the rest of my final team if it helps:

Swampert
Ninetales
Ludicolo
Exploud
Gardevoir

No, and no.

Gen. 1's chance to crit is based on the user's base speed stat. The formula for the crit rate in Gen. 1 is

CH% rate = (User's base Speed) × 100 ÷ 512

In Gen. 2, the crit rates were determined the same way they are now.
