If I have Zuruzukin out on the field with the ability Shed Skin (so 1/3 of healing status) and is partnered with Mamanbou who carries the ability Healing Heart (1/3 chance of healing your partner's status condition)... what are the chances of Zuruzukin's status being healed on any given turn?

Chance of it not healing: 2\3 * 2\3 = 4\9
Chance of it healing: 1 - 4\9 = 5\9 = 0.55

Since B&W isn't there yet, and only those pokémon are allowed, I would like to chain breed a gible (VGC format), with IV's as perfect as I can get them (aiming for nearly perfect), to practise. I have a gible, with 31 sp. def IV, and ditto's with perfect IV's:
-one ditto with 31 IV in atk and sp. def (wrong nature)
-one ditto with 31 IV in def (good nature)
-one ditto with 31 IV in hp (good nature)
-one ditto with 31 IV in hp and sp. atk (good nature)

As you can see, after one day of ditto catching I got everything except speed. but this isn't particulary my question, my question is: what would be the breeding chain order (nature incalculated) if you want "perfect" IV's? I have Soul silver, so I can get the power items. Thank you for your help:heart:

That question is suited for the "Simple Question, Simple Answer" thread in Wi-Fi, not here.

I can tell you already that the answer will be "get a Ditto with 31 IVs in all stats". There are plenty of those if you check Wi-Fi.

Do the people who still play VGC 2009 play by an "unofficially updated" ruleset, allowing all the event berries and Judgment on Smeargle (not like that matters) since those berries and Arceus have been released since the official tournament, or do they still play by the exact ruleset given out by Nintendo two years ago?

I ran one at an Anime convention (Anime Banzai) in Utah last October using VGC '08 rules (No Kyogre/mewtwo/etc). All the berries and Judgement smeargle were allowed - but they were not used. It was won by Easton Henrie with Picklesword in second. The crowd thought it was awesome how picklesword used a Gyarados/Ditto combo.

I was neither asking how to beat a hack check, or what they look for. I was asking what a hack check looked like, so I can understand how someone who doesn't entirely take the time to read thinks might get confused.........:pirate:

does anyone know if the legal IV combinations are the same as the 4th gen games or are they completly different?

This is a subtly-disguised "how do I beat the hack check" question. It's information that would be of no benefit to anyone except those trying to hack up something.

This has nothing to do with "beating a hack check"...........I am new to RNG and I was using the iv applet to match nature to IV combo and was wondering if it was the same for 5th gen, sorry for being a noob, BUT I AM NO HACKER! amd really don't appreciate the being called one

You would be better served perusing the 5th Generation RNG thread.

yeah it definitely auto levels down. 100% sure. You couldn't even use some of the isshu poks that are allowed if it didn't auto level down.

Hi there, hopefully someone can help me.

I have a VGC-style tournament coming up next month. The rules are set to 2009 VGC. I am very much excited to participate, but I don't know what is good in 2009 VGC format. So basically I am looking for someone to quickly school me on the metagame so I know what direction to take when I make up my team.

Actually, if anyone would be kind enough to donate a spare 2009 VGC team that they aren't using anymore to me that would be incredible =]

zapdos / garchomp / flygon / hitmontop = gg in '09

discharge + earthquake, then discharge + earthquake, then earthquake + earthquake, repeat, etc. hitmontop is for trick room / swift swim.
