Mewtwo should only use Recover on the Stall set. Mewtwo can just destroy nearly anything after a Calm Mind boost. There are still some checks but they have to be wary of certain moves. Examples will be Giratina does not enjoy taking boosted Ice Beams while Jirachi gets owned by Fire Blast.

I am very curious on what I can counter with Leftovers Rayquaza.
moveset=Fly, Dragon Claw, Draco Meteor, and Waterfall
stats=362 Hp, 316 Atk, 213 Def, 313 SpAtk, 224 SpDef, and 238 Spd

Welcome to smogon!

I'm unsure the meaning of what you're trying to accomplish with that set and you shouldn't really be asking "what" you should be able counter, as we can't tell you what your own set does.

Also, we prefer if we know the pokemon's EV's, not stats as it means we're generally unsure what investment you put into the pokemon.

Furthermore, Fly in most (if not all) situation's is competitively unviable and Waterfall doesn't see a lot of use on Ray because earthquake is better then it in all regards other then the fact that you can hit ballooned pokemon (which isn't that much of an upside in ubers).

Finally, it'd be helpful if you describe the point of each move, the EV's, etc on your pokemon. Otherwise, again, we don't know what you're trying to achieve.

Although I know what EV's are, I don't know how to access that info. I can explain each move's purpose.
Waterfall is more or less for those pesky steel-type pokemon that resist all of he other STAB moves. Fly I use mostly to get a turn of free leftovers recovery, as well as scout moves. Draco Meteor is mostly for its STAB for Rayquaza, and its high damage. Dragon Claw rounds out the moveset for high accuracy, STAB, and it complements Rayquaza high physical attack. I'm probably going to switch Waterfall for maybe flamethrower or a boosting move, as Waterfall's only use is for steel-types. The only other things were the current level stats, because I don't know how to necessarily get that info. Sorry.

Is Kabutops decent on an Ubers rain team? I've had a few games with the Life Orb set with Rapid Spin instead of Swords Dance, and it hasn't really done much for me. None of my team are weak to Stealth Rock, so I was wondering if I should run Swords Dance instead of Rapid Spin if it isn't that necessary to my team (I have Wish support from a Jirachi, but I don't really like taking damage as I switch in).

Are there any Pokemon Shaymin-S loose to when using HP Fire, reducing its speed by one point? There are only two coming in mind: Scarf-Togekiss and +1 DD-Dragonite.

You're forgetting the most potent Base 80 that will almost always have a +1 boost, Speed Boost Blaziken. Although, I think most of them run Jolly and neither one should really be switching in on the other, as Blaziken is OHKO'd by Air Slash and it could easily get up to +2 by using Protect after Shaymin-S is in.

There's also the fact that you'll lose to Shaymin-S, but again, you shouldn't be trying to win the Speed tie in this case unless you absolutely have to.

Overall, I don't think it would really matter as you shouldn't really be keeping Shaymin-S in on any of those Pokemon.

Hi everyone. I've never played Ubers, but something did strike my mind while I started brainstorming things:
Seeing that there are loads of Dragon- and Psychic- pokémon in the ubers metagame, how viable would be Weavile? Does he lose to any considerable threat by running Adamant instead of Jolly? Can a scarf set work? How much does he need Ice Shard against some foes (with that 120 Atk, I can see it OHKO'ing things like Shaymin-S and Rayquazza due to 4x weakness, am I right on this assumption?)

Weavile has a number of problems though. Firstly 120 Attack is already a bit on the "average" side in Ubers, and having low base power on his attacks really sucks. As for Dragon-types the only things Weavile has a real chance of OHKOing is Rayquaza and Salamence. Dialga, Reshiram and Palkia aren't weak to Ice (Dialga needs to watch out for +2 Low Kick, I guess), Zekrom is bulky enough to take an Ice Punch or +2 Ice Shard (if it's Scarfed) and so is Dragon Arceus. Rayquaza frequently carries ExtremeSpeed these days, and with +2 priority, Ice Shard isn't helping you any more. All of them can OHKO Weavile in return, so Salamence is pretty much the only thing you're beating, and that is pretty damn rare already. Lati@s is a similar vein. I will give you Shaymin-S though, although Substitute probably foils you. In terms of Psychics, Lugia can take an LO Ice Punch and Whirlwind you out, and actually avoids getting 2HKOed by Night Slash if SR isn't up. Mewtwo is faster than you and will just kill Weavile before anything happens.

Even with those out of the way, Weavile has other problems. It is ridiculously frail, easy to wall and weak to SR. Even with its great offensive Ice-typing, its low attack power on its moves prevent it from breaking down any walls that are weak to it.

Forgive me if I'm incorrect, but is V-create Rayquaza released? According to Serebii, the event started Feb 10th, and ended the 27th. If it is, will it be put onto the server sometime soon?

Edit: Okay, thanks Furai! I had an it itching to use it yesterday and when team builder didn't show it I was curious. Soon Ray's fiery wrath shall come; patience is a virtue...

Yes, V-create Rayquaza is released. It was out on the 10th of Februrary. I don't think it's a server issue, but more of a client issue. Just like Moxie Salamence and Contrary Spinda.

I'm new to ubers and I would like to know if Thunderus has any viability here ethier as a nasty plotter or a super fast paralysis spreader?

Boy, you absolutely have no idea how good Thundurus is. However, the two sets you have mentioned work completely different.

The Nasty Plot set is basically designed to open many holes in the opponent's team; come into any resisted attack or an Earthquake, set up a Nasty Plot, and wreak havoc. I don't think Thundurus has the right qualities to become a sturdy sweeper in Ubers because it is very frail and many common Pokemon outspeed it, such as Darkrai and Mewtwo. With this said, however, Thundurus is still a great Pokemon to use and should be taken into consideration everytime you teambuild.

The Prankster Abuser is probably the best set Thundurus could run in Ubers, in my opinion. While the Nasty Plot set is great, priority Thunder Wave can't be overlooked just like that; in a fast-paced tier like Ubers, where fast Pokemon lurk everywhere, such as Darkrai, Mewtwo, Scarf Palkia, Shaymin-S, Arceus formes, and more, crippling them down makes a huge support to your team and can completely turn the tables. After shutting a fast sweeper with Thunder Wave, you can simply send a slower attacker, such as Rayquaza, Specs Kyogre, Band Zekrom, or non-Rock Polish Terrakion, to finish the opponent much easier.

Yes, Deoxys-N only had a very, very small niche last generation as it was able to take two ExtremeSpeeds from Deoxys-S and 2HKO in return with Shadow Ball and an ExtremeSpeed of its own. This generation, as leads are redundant, it has lost pretty much all usability as Deoxys-S is a superior hazard layer, and Deoxys-A is a superior attacker.

On V-create Rayquaza

The v-create rayquaza has been technically available for some time now and yet there is no mention of it or the move in its move list on the page for rayquaza, is there a reason for this?

I think (unless it's because it hasn't been implemented on Pokemon Online yet) it's because it a) doesn't get STAB on it and b) it loses a lot of effectiveness with a lowered Speed stat. Also the Pokemon's that Rayquaza would be trying to kill with V-Create (Levitating or Flying-type Steels) have a higer Defense stat than Special Defense, therefore Overheat would hit a lot harder, as well as lowering one of Rayquaza's stats instead of three.

I was thinking that 180 base power is equivalent of stab fire blast from something else, with dd the speed drop could be taken as a last measure... really, I just think it's a pretty cool move... would it not also be trying to hit scizor, ferrothorn and forretress with fire moves? I'm just thinking a 252attk ray does significantly more damage without a dd to those 3, as well as doing more dmg to 252/4/252 skarmoury.

Factoring in potential rain, I think there are some 1hkos with v-create that you dont get with overheat... it'd mean switching out if they have a priority user come in for revenge... that's in the rain, in the sun, the 252atk +180 Base Power + sun STAB would make it an incredible move for anything that resists dragon stone or ground and not fire (not many things, at least, not in the sun)

It's because we're a little slow with updates, lol. Don't worry, we're working on it!
fair enough, fair enough :) my bad for the slightly aggravated implication, thank you :)

Air lock cancels out suns boosts on V create, as well as rains power drop, so the damage is consistent.
