Tell us a little about your experience in competitive Pokemon (min. 3 sentences):
I tried getting into competitive pokemon largely with ADV, but found that ladder by itself was a poor teacher at best. Even when paired with various resources on the forums and advice from players I fight in friendlies, it isn’t enough to give a proper understanding of the metagame to the degree that I’m even practicing on the same level as an average player. Having struggled with playing the game proper, I found hosting tournaments to be a much more enjoyable experience, but lamented a seeming lack of improvement. In many ways, I find it easy to beat myself up over having not played/improved as much as I’d like, and this takes a toll on any motivation I have for the extended ladder sessions that I see others using for improvement.

I have been playing Pokémon on a more competitive level since 2019. I didn't like gen 8 OU so I played Natdex instead. Rn I'm playing a lot of gen 9 OU and even managed to Peak at 1800, but fell back in mid 1600's, where i'm currently stuck. I feel like there isnt much left that I can learn by playing alone, so id like to get the help of someone with more experience then me to step up to the next level.

Tell us a little about your experience in competitive Pokemon:
Been a regular draft player for roughly 2 years and I've managed to play multiple formats from RSE to SV, including NatDex formats and AAA. I don't consider myself very good in the draft skill area as my drafts aren't always synergising, I struggle to competently build for match-ups and my play is an absolute mess if I don't stick to a rigid plan. I'm very unsure on how I should be judging myself as I feel I have too much bias when it comes to reflection. If anything, looking to improve everything and find a way to improve myself consistently. I have no particular style preference but I believe I lean towards Balance / Bulky Offense in my drafts, so I'm very comfortable with that. Pokemon that I draft alot are as follows: (these are picked depending on format)

Experience: I'm relatively new to the competitive scene in terms of battling, only being interested for a year since scarlet and violet came out. However, I've watched videos such as how good was (insert pokemon) ACTUALLY for awhile. I like to do battles on showdown and have done around maybe 50-60 battles.

Tell us a little about your experience in competitive Pokémon (min. 3 sentences): I started playing Ladder VGC when ORAS came out. I played through Sun and Moon religiously. About half way through that lifecycle of SM I took a break till a year after Sword/Sword came out. Played that all the way till the final formatrules. SV came out and i play through the 1st 2 rule sets. I took a break then came back for Reg G, played that for a week then i was unhappy with the format, then discovered OU and ND and I fell in love with it. Coming from Doubles im still trying to learn singles and the difference in play styles

Comp mons experience: I started adv around 9 months ago and finished out top 8 in the recent invitational, learning that tier from the ground up was a fuckton of work but also really rewarding. I've played dpp in a couple of side tours and DPPPL to some decent results, but I want to get the level of understanding in dpp that I have in adv - not just put pokemon w obvious synergies together and autofill in the rest of the sets then make base level clicks yk

Tell us a little about your experience in competitive Pokemon (min. 3 sentences):
I started my draft career in November of 2023 and have played a lot of different leagues during that time. I personally think my strong point is drafting itself, I find structures that work quite easily following fundamentals of drafting. My biggest issue in drafting is that I tend to stay on my comfort zone, I always gravitate towards balanced structures via instinct and end up using the same structures over and over again. As a player, my biggest flaw is my consistency issues. I play on a really good level at times, but it averages to extremely mid performances over time as I play like a bot at times. I also find issues in my building, it's relatively boring and short sited, and I get caught of guard by sets I didn't expect. What I would like to focus on in tutoring is analyzing replays and my builds in said games.

Been playing mons for a few years now, initially started in the Draft sphere and still playing in it to this day. I initially started in SM 1v1 for smogon Tiers, then switched over to OU when SWSH started. I had a B101 session during the end of the gen and felt fairly happy with my level of prep + skill (s/o Pais ). Once SV started I've felt decent in my play (Got TC for OU Suspect Reqs), but especially post DLC2 I've felt my building to be quite lacking. I tend to gravitate around one specific Pokémon and I feel like that tunnel visions me often.

Tell us a little about your experience in competitive Pokemon (min. 3 sentences):
My first competitive battles took place on Gameboy Colors when I was smol. Red and Blue was where I got my start, but it wasn't until years later I discovered Showdown. My homie Charizard had just gotten two new forms and I just had to try them out. I had a brief stint back around the time XY and ORAS came out where I played random battles and built awful OU teams on Showdown. I came back to Showdown 2 years ago and went right back at it. Once I'd hit top 500 in ORAS OU, I gave in and tried Gen 9. I got into natdex and SV draft with a buddy of mine about a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. I love it so much, but I often feel my drafts are lackluster and everyone has better options. I try to create synergy, but I find that I usually can't be all that clever in the builder. I've played in 4 different leagues including Rissoux's WPF Defense Division and made playoffs in all 7 Regular Season's I've played. In the leagues with my buddies, I usually do fairly well (7-0 and 7-3 records respectively this season) but am struggling in WPF (4-5, barely clinched 7th seed with +1 diff) to take on top players in my div. I'd like some help being more creative in the builder and feeling more prepared. I'd also love some advice on drafting teams.

I have been playing for about a year or two, laddering and testing teams for sm. When I joined Smogon, I participated in some tournaments and got decent results(sm). I really enjoy teambuilding and innovating—sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn't, but I find it enjoyable. I have also played in Mushi League, though I'm not very good at ADV. I've been watching a lot of replays of SV OU, and I find it really cool. I want to learn how to teambuild well in it and understand the meta.

The main body of this is a message I wrote to Ticken three years late, then came on here to post because of course I got spamfiltered.

This is literally three years too late and I know it won't be of much use to your evaluation program by now, but I was looking back through my chats and found the exact reason why Perish Song stopped replying to me and I didn't find myself suited for his kind of competitive Pokémon (besides the thing with the banded Espeed Raichu-A). https://pokepast.es/6f387204db196147
If anyone ever desires a complete circus artist of a screwball nobody whose matches are all halfway comedy for a tournament or the like, though, I'm still up if they are - just contact Panodil Protino on Smogon if this should ever happen - but I can either play competitive Pokémon in an uncompetitive way or uncompetitive Pokémon in a competitive way, not two of the same at once, and I don't think I can change that.

I've been on here since the Smog was new and I've been reading/theorycrafting/occasionally battling as a low-key hobby for the better part of my life.
However, as can probably be seen from the above, I've been learning exclusively how to do things backward, mirrored and in reverse, and by now I've admitted that I can what I can and a tiger shouldn't try to change its stripes - if you think the idea of having one guy in your draft who forces people to prepare for the absurd sounds cool I'm probably the guy you're looking for, but if not I'm really not worth the bother and I don't think I'm alone in thinking that.

Tell us a little about your experience in competitive Pokemon (min. 3 sentences): Peaked 1800s OU, 2200s Randbats, qualified for 3 suspect tests, went 1-1 in Spring Seasonal (got coinflip win r3 and gave opp win r4). Went on a hiatus ever since Spring Seasonal, and just returned to battling, sitting around 2150 in randbats at the time of this being written, and not having retried OU yet. Still don't consider myself very good at the game, as I found myself sitting around 1600-1700s more than 1800s in OU, and often tilting from 2200s to as low as 1700s in randbats. Also I got a bit lucky in my win in ssnl and got stomped in my loss. I'd like to work on my battling skills the most, would like to learn how to make good midgrounds and proper positioning. Would be cool if I could make a deep run in a single or drafted in a team tour.

I have been interested in VGC a lot since 2023 but the most I've been doing is watching the official tournaments regularly (regionals, internationals and worlds). Recently I've decided to give PS! a try since i feel like individual combats are the better start but i really dont have the knowledge of creating teams/modify them or any related feature so I've been pllaying random battles and right now I'm at 1544 elo. I really want to get into OU since its the most popular metagame and I hoped I can become a tutee of someone here becauseI heard its a good way of learning.

Tell us a little about your experience in competitive Pokemon (min. 3 sentences): I have been playing "casual" competitive pokemon since Gen 3, understand most of the theory and mechanics of the game just lack the game sense and long term planning in games. I like to make my own teams but lack the imagination to make them anything more than mediocre. Gen 9 has been my favourite gen since like DPP and really want to get better with the goal of being able to qualify for suspect voting requirements at least once.
