Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
"Yeah. At first, I thought those guys were mean for not sharing any food. But, after we fought, they placed me on an apple-tree branch next to a whole bunch of Perfect Apples, ripe for the eating! I felt happy, but I also felt kinda embarrassed. I mean, these guys were trying to help me the whole time, but I was too impatient to try to understand them."
The Empoleon turns red-faced. "Th-That's gotta be a happenstance! A total accident! They'd never do that on purpose. There's no way that I misread these interlopers -- no, these ruthless conquistadors -- that drastically!!"

Whichever witness you choose doesn't matter to me; I am absolutely certain that they will both have only scathing things to say about you!"

The Garbodor's attacks come fast and fierce, but Mawile's cunning movements outpace the beast and score a clean KO. With a great splash, the Garbodor falls onto its back and floats unconscious atop the water's surface.
You and your Pokemon steer your kayak ashore. Parking it safely by the lakeside, you trek a few dozen meters into the jungle to hide among the thicket while you rest.
Unfortunately, your respite is brief. It's not long before Sliggoo comes crawling through the bushes towards you. "Hey guys, they're over here! I can smell some of Garbodor's stench on them!"
Behind the Sliggoo, Empoleon and Bibarel follow. "Well done, Sliggoo. I knew I could rely upon you. Here, have a fish, as promised." "Yaaay!!"
Empoleon throws a fish into the air, which Sliggoo swallows in a single gulp.
"Hey, that was mine!" "Yes, I will give recompense later. This job was an urgent necessity. And I've seen how many fish you caught once you relocated your dam; you will be fine."
The Bibarel pouts, but doesn't press the issue.
"Trainer, this Bibarel has told me enough on the way here. There is no need to prolong your trial. I was... rash and ignorant. I jumped to conclusions. You are not a terrible person: that is my judgement.
"But! The scales are not yet leveled. Now that I have passed judgement, so too shall you. With your words, I implore you to speak out to the three Pokemon before you. And with your attacks, demonstrate the intensity behind your words. Surely, you have your own grievances to air?"
It looks like Mawile should have 7 HP left. Also, though the round's result won't change, Mawile's Sucker Punch should only deal 14 damage.
"Eh; I'm not one for grudges, and I am responsible for breaking the dam. Nevertheless, none of my actions warranted a death penalty!"

"Honestly, I think you're being too harsh to yourself. Preserving peace and protecting innocents are noble roles; you've just let anger lead you to mistakes."
Ooh; this looks bleak... "Boss, we've learned that the legends are true and that the treasure is gone, so I can fly us out of here on your call."

The Empoleon wipes some of the mud off of her face. "Now you've matched my appearance to my mood. Hah! But you must be going. I have much I need to ponder and not a lot of time. Already, I think I hear another clueless treasure hunter approaching. Goodbye!"
You are about to ask the Empoleon something, but you don't get the chance -- with a wave of her flipper, Empoleon sends your kayak hurtling backwards on a torrent of water. The boat speeds back through the river so fast that you couldn't steer it yourself if you tried! In a flash, you find yourself at the edge of the rainforest, exactly where you began your adventure. Grappling with equal portions of frustration and relief, you decide to quit your expedition. You return the kayak to the boating shop and head home for well-deserved rest.
---
A few days later, you hear that the wild Empoleon you fought against has undergone a change of attitude since your encounter. Instead of attacking visitors, the Empoleon is now acting as a tour guide. By leading explorers through safe paths within the forest that don't disturb the local Pokemon, the Empoleon hopes to prevent destructive accidents from ever occurring -- a plan that would render her role of judge obsolete. Unfortunately, the penguin Pokemon's cold, stern attitude tends to displease tourists, and so the tourism rate in the forest has not increased. If anything, it seems to have declined.
As for your own Pokemon: they were disappointed that there was no treasure to be had, but they got over their feelings quickly. After all, to most Pokemon, spending time outside to stretch one's wings and enjoy the sun's heat is a great diversion in and of itself. And to do so alongside their brave and beloved Pokemon Trainer makes it all the better.

Scenario: Deep Space "The year is 30XX. Mankind has spaceships that travel at FTL speeds, allowing exploration of the cosmos. However, when the spaceship you are aboard begins to malfunction, you discover just how unprepared humanity is for the perils that lie hidden within the darkness of space..."
***
Aboard the Starlight Delight, all has been well. This luxurious, microplanet-class vacation cruiser has jumped from gate to gate along the edges of explored space, showed you and your Pokemon the wonders of the cosmos. Seated in its spacious domed gardens, you have watched mineral planets collide from the total safety of its shields. Nebulae have taken your breath away with colors you didn't know existed. Dishes and amusements from across known space have mesmerized your senses, and trainers from every settled world have tested your mettle and your Pokemon. Truly, passage on this cruise has been a once-in a lifetime, unforgettable experience that has proven well worth every hard-earned credit you had saved up.
Until today.
You take a moment to catch your breath, with a dizzying service stairwell stretching hundreds of floors above and below you. The crew and staff that had, up to this point, oversaw all aspects of the cruise and its amenities have vanished without a trace. Without the guidance of human or Pokemon input, the ship's computers carry out their last instruction incessantly, creating chaotic conditions on multiple decks. Powered lighting has become a rare and fleeting blessing, and not a single replicator that you've found has been able to produce anything except a foul and viscous sludge with the scent of rotting fruit. Blaring, indecipherable noise from the intercom system dominates most areas of the ship you've visited, consistent only in its arrhythmic beats, grating tones, and wretched key. It's all you can do to press on, for want of a working transporter or anything to block out the noise.
After what feels like an eternity, you emerge from the top of the stairwell. You are now several hundred floors closer to your goal: the captain's cabin, where you could assess the nature of the situation and perhaps send a distress signal. Given the bewildering nature of the emergency on board, you're less than certain that there's anything you could glean, but there's nothing to be done but to try. On this deck, the plants have overgrown their containment seemingly with great force. Shattered pottery and spraying water fixtures characterize the scene before you, as well as an immense garden overgrown wildly atop the debris. The wide, marble paths of this floor are caked with soil and detritus, making for hazardous walking. As you cross the expansive park to reach the service stairways on the opposite side, you freeze. Barely audible above the din of the loudspeakers is a rustling from no direction you can discern, growing louder each second. Try as you might to pinpoint it, you don't determine the source of the sound until it reveals itself to you.
From the thicket of the overgrown and no longer domesticated foliage, a decidedly humanoid figure shambles forth. However, rather than a familiar Grass-type, the figure instead resembles no Pokemon you've ever heard of. Wrapped from head to toe in the same overgrowth, with roots or vines trailing heavily along the ground like so many broken manacles, the unknown figure stumbles forward towards you, one unsteady foot after the other. You take only a single step back before you notice the same sounds of approach from behind you.
Swiveling your head, you see exactly what you wished not to. From behind you, and indeed from all sides, more of the figures stagger forth from the foliage. All wrapped fully in the same plant matter, all with the same faceless mien and uneasy gait. Your mind races imagining imminent fates, should these creatures close in on you fully. You haven't seen a single ambulatory living thing since you last awoke, and you're now certain that you're the only human left aboard. Your hand moves, seemingly in slow motion, to your datapad and your only two companions in this surreal emergency. Seconds stretch into minutes and hours as the moment of your decision overtakes your consciousness, seemingly frozen in amber.
The ceiling is too low to fly here. How will you escape the creatures, and reach the next stairwell safely?
The shamblers crack and creak as the frigid air cools them. Some of them lurch for Srirocco's mirages, grasping nothing, and falling to the floor with a sickening crack. Pieces break off and continue to futilely feel around, trying to find their own locomotion. You step over the sickening display, careful not to land within reach of any of the fallen creatures. Once you're clear of the throng, you return your partners to the datapad and break into a sprint towards the stairwell.
Success! +2 RPT
The next stairwell is much like the first. Though it spans a shorter distance, it still tests the limits of your stamina, and you find yourself stopping more and more frequently. To complicate things, you encounter the occasional shambling creature up here as well. A single shambler is not much of an obstacle, but the possibility of a creature showing up denies you any chance to let your guard down, even when at rest.
When you reach the command deck, you emerge to the same absence of human life as every other deck. The floor is awash with the same wretched slurry as the replicators were producing. Walking through the area is disgustingly sticky, and the stench is overpowering. Holding as much breath as you can manage, you make your way down the hall towards the bridge. Barring your way is welcome sight--two Pokemon, hale and whole, though their reception is less than friendly.
"I bet you're one of those things too! You're not getting anywhere near the bridge crew!"
"Even if you aren't, we can't open these doors. You should have answered the evac order! You could be contaminated!"
Despite your best reasoning, the Pokemon guarding the bridge are not swayed. If you want to assess the state of command, there's only one answer left to give. The beep of your datapad is your reply to the guard Pokemon's statement.
Croconaw STAGE: 3* NATURE: Serious (no change) TYPE:Water ABILITIES:Sheer Force
