Luigi isn't bad if you can wavedash.Luigi sucked, Kirby was great in the original (his throw was classic) but they weakened him considerably for the sequel.
Why fake out? Pound is an excellent move that can often combo into rest in both games.Jigglypuff was good because you can fake out the opponent by Pounds and surprise them with a Rest.
Luigi isn't bad if you can wavedash.
Edit: Kirby was overrated in the original. Sure he's good, but EVERY noob used him. His throws aren't even that good, he just had a huge grab range.
If you want good throws in SSB try Pikachu.
What matters most IMO is balancing. All the weaker characters should get buffs.
Okay, I'll be that guy and ask what wavedashing is.
explained best here: http://www.freewebs.com/tobiasxk/wavedashing.html
edit: this avatar is getting a little lame, care to give me a new one dm? ; )
Even the best Mewtwo players in the world gave up on him. That's how bad Mewtwo is. :/
Unnecessary? Perhaps, but it does add a whole layer of complexity to smash, which is why I love the game so much. Wavedashing allows for fluid movement, while allowing freedom of attacks, unlike a normal run, but to say it's broken or needs to be removed is overratting it. It is not an essential move by any means, there are several professionals players who to do not wavedash at all. All it really is is an alternate form of movement, that allows more fluidity.Ah, see I don't own a Gamecube, so I'm much more familiar with SSB than SSBM. And from what I understand, this is taking advantage of the game engine to perform better. I see no problem with that. Do I want to see this in SSBB? No. That's giving an added edge that isn't really necessary, not to mention the physics of it is just bunk.
Don't tempt me.
I'll be damned if they add Raichu or a starter pokemon....
sooo..... anyone think that Sakurai can be sort of an asshole with his updates........ why didn't he just put up all the characters we already knew when he first remade the site?
prediction: next update will be one describing the nintendogs item >_>
I can see it now.
Next SBD Announcement: BRAWL WILL BE RELEASED ON WII!

If they wanted to add Raichu, they could have done it way back in the original, I don't see why they would be starting now.
Well obviously I don't need to play them, and I have played competitively, but I have a few problems with it. The neutered environment with no items usually played on Final Destination is like a certain Pokemon metagame, those players are the best of that metagame and by no means are "the best" smash players in the world. I'm sure they can hold their own in a full item random stage game, but I have yet to see a video anywhere with the "pros" playing under the normal default rules. While this is a minor quip, hearing everyone and their mother say "if I don't wavedash this, shine that, blargh blargh" its kind of kills some of it for me. Maybe I'm like this because I remember the innocent times where no one knew of these "advance techniques" and just played like how it was meant to be played (its in my opinion that it was meant as a fans dream game, pitting favourite characters against each other to just beat the shit out of each other, not the competitive monster it has become). When MLG or whoever else runs competitive tournaments with items and the lot maybe I'll care about competitive Smash, right now I don't and I'll just stick to my fun with Pichu (somehow my second used character) without getting beat up by a wavedashing-l-canceling-short-hopping Marth. Meh now I sound like a complainer, but remember I did dabble in competitive Smash for a bit, so I know what its like and once upon a time I could wavedash and do all that crap.@zerowing: I'm not understanding the semi-hate towards competitive smash bros.... it is not a requirement that you play against someone who knows how to play like that. So ummm.... why type something like "I just want to enjoy a nice easy game versus someone who won't ko me in 30 seconds."? It's not like competitive batlling has elminated non-competitive battling, or that it's even hard to find someone who isn't a competitive battler :/....... I mean, unless every single one of your friends either dislikes smash or is into competitive smash.... and I guess the only thing to say to that would be "sux 4 u"...
