In the video in Friday's update, Peach is shown entering the fray with Zelda. There's no official word on it, but it's practically a given that Peach is in SSBB. I'm guessing it will become 'official' sometime this week.

Last week was unanimously awesome, so Sakurai wants to make this week suck to make up for the disapointment he lost to power his time machine.

I dont think he'll make it suck, but i sure as hell didnt care about DK's Final Smash, nor do i care about the smoke ball.

Maybe it's parallel to last week?

Whoa, awesome.

Aether looks hard to use, but i'm sure i'll get used to it.

Eruption however....

That looks nice.
Perhaps the same charge as Marth's Shield Breaker, but with a ground stab? Awesome.

EDIT: Also, is the level shown in Eruption anything we've seen before?

The fact that multiple heavier characters may get somehow similar moves makes me happy as I mained with Ganon and Bowser in the previous game.

The level shown in the Eruption screen shot is Rumble Falls (DK's level) I'm pretty sure.

I'm excited to see all of the no flinch moves now!

Aether reminds me of Kirby's sword slam, but it's probably just a tad slower.

I'm not too impressed by Aether because of what Bojangles just said, and it would have been much cooler (and broken!) if it also had the same effect in the game where it also gained HP, or just reduced damage %. Eruption is cool though, it's way better than Marth and Roy's B move from SSBM.

Aether looks like a rip-off of Kirby's Final Cutter, but oh well. Invulnerability frames are always good. Also, he'd better get some real nice horizontal recovery cuz that thing looks like it's almost all vertical. Eruption looks good, just a sort of charged explosion, from appearances. Further hints that Ike is replacing Marth and Roy.

Looks like we'll have a slippery fellow. Short hops and a high as hell Up+B recover.

Further hints that Ike is replacing Marth and Roy.

Why do so many people think that some characters will be replaced? The gamemakers have nothing to lose by leaving everyone from Melee in there for this one.

Well from pictures it seems as though Ike's Aether attack goes straight up, which begs the question on how well he can recover from hits. Because with Kirby's Final cutter you could aim it, even in midair, I just hope they don't slops this one up.

It seems to me, that'd he recover like Luigi and G+W do, with a straight vertical recovery. Either he'll have far jumps, or a horizontal Smash B to position himself right under a ledge, then vertical to the top.

According to ssbb.co.uk, they have already announced that Game + Watch, Ice Climbers (I think...), and someone else will not be returning. This was an old update so I don't know if you can find it anymore.

Hopefully, Aether is a rip-off of Dolphin Slash (Marth's Up+B) with an extra effect if it hits (or when used on the ground)... Hopefully...

Will smoke ball be totally useless against COM players??? Togepi's metronome shadow whatever was annoying as hell b/c comps kept destroying me.

@DoomMullet: Some characters will be replaced due to Sakurai (see above site, same update) promising that there will be no clones of characters (there is a French article or something). However... I cannot find the source again and would really like if someone could find it.

Well if he plays anything like Marth or Roy he won't have anything resembling Luigi's Green Missile. And Luigi's coin punch was more for the instant KO if you ever got close enough. Its to bad the AI in the SSBM never used it to recover when they had the chance.

The article you're referring to with axed GW and IC's had been reported to be false.

The french article however, i've heard nothing about.

It's not like theres anything bad with copies, SSBM made it so that when they did copy they made big enough changes to have two different types of play with each character. I personally wouldn't care if they still had it, because I don't see the big problem concerned with it.

Well then without a couple copies here and there SSBM would probly have half the character roster it has. Although I do admit really wasn't a point to Young Link, I do like having a lot of those characters, and I guess its more of what your willing to put up with, and the spand of the creator's creativity when coming up with a move list for 20+ characters verying greatly between each other.

Guys, the only reasons clones were there in melee was because they had to be. Do you really think the game makers were up there saying... "I think it would be cooler for Falco to have the exact same moves as Fox!" I sure don't... it was probably more a matter of time and maybe even simplicity, though I don't like to think that the smash team was lazy. I bet Sakurai sees the clones as something like half done characters, which is why he made it clear that he was going to be redoing some of the clone characters to be unique. He also stated at some point that some of the melee cast may not return, leading many to believe that uselessness such as Pichu would be thrown out.

No one has been confirmed to be removed....

Yeah... this was just a clarification of some things.
