Breloom

Use Life Orb for Techniloom. For the love of god use Life Orb or just don't even bother using Breloom.

Your OHKOs from Bullet Seed go from 3 hits to 4/5 hits without Life Orb.

Specially defensive Bulk Up Breloom in the rain is godly! Use it more people!!!

Yeah, I definitely agree. Poison heal + Drain Punch heals health so quickly it's amazing. Specially Defensive Jirachi is a good partner to handle some special attackers that Breloom can't handle.

what's your set up? I run a simple 252/252 HP and special defense, and 4 attack with bulk up, mach punch, spore, and seed bomb.
I am using the one that is through QC right now meaning 236 HP / 216 S.Def / 56 Spe with a Calm nature and a moveset of Bulk Up,Drain Punch,Seed Bomb and Spore.
SE is also an option instead of Seed Bomb to have better coverage.

I see, I still tend to play him more offensively, perhaps more then I should. Have you tested without Drain Punch with mach punch instead?

I have a feeling you'd know better then I.

No but i don't think it is a good idea...

This Breloom is a very good counter to the Volt-Turn strategy and Rotom-W in particular once the Toxic Orb is activated so it needs Drain Punch to have some sort of reliable healing in addition to Poison Heal(whcih alone isn't enough to provide you with more than 2 switch-ins for Rotom-W).

And Mach Punch is pretty weak even at +1 because of no attack investement. You cannot even ohko Terakion after he uses CC once. When you are at +1 you are much better tanking the hit from Terakion, which you can, even a CC(excpet from CB variants) and then heal back to half HP with Drain Punch,~65% after Poison Heal.

I'll check out that analysis, I kept it on because I didn't have a priority move on my team and I kind of just threw it on him. I mostly use him as a lead anyways, and then as a possible late game cleaner, really unorthodox now that I think of it, but it worked out fairly well for me.

I'll switch to drain punch and see how that works out for me.

Breloom needs 64 Speed EVs to outspeed 0 Speed Heatran, but most Tran are running 160 Speed EVs for adamant max speed Scizor now.
First of all Breloom needs 60 Speed EVs to outspeed 0 Speed Heatran.
Also outspeeding min speed Heatran is not worth it if you are running the specially defensive spread with drizzle suppport, since the only variant that doesn't commonly run any speed is the specially defensive with Lava Plume and this Heatran does jack against Breloom anyway.

@eradicator: from the looks of innocent criminal's ou data, of the 74.9% of heatran users who run mildly similar sets, only 2.7 of those 74.9 run 160 speed...the rest are either sdef tran or max speed...so i don't know where that 'most' comes from...

I think he assumed that they run 160 speed evs because the standard specially defensive Heatran set has 160 Speed evs, while in reality most S.Defensive Heatrans run absolutely no speed.

CB Techniloom is dangerous. I'm using one on my DW Rain team, and it's swept teams by itself with Mach Punch once bulky resists and ghosts have been eliminated. It also sets up sweeps for others well because it does huge gobs of damage with Low Sweep (1-2HKOs a LOT of things) and Bullet Seed (have fun lolol).

Switch-ins have to be very careful, since many things are outsped at -1 and severely dented by Low Sweep. Espeon, for example, is 2HKOed.

I have to agree with everyone that's hyping the Bulk Up set, it really is quite incredible. I'm using him as my team's focal point right now, as I like my teams to generally have a goal (set up with x sweeper, set up hazards with x and stall with y), and Breloom really works excellently with rain up and the like. Even incredibly powerful Pokemon like Heatran can't KO him with rain up, while Breloom will just Drain Punch and recover a large bulk of what was lost. Very underrated and powerful threat.

Does nobody use SubSeed now that Technician is out? It's always been my favourite Breloom.

I'm thinking about a Spore/Substitute/Leech Seed/Mach Punch Jolly Breloom as a revenge killer/switch forcer on my sandstorm stall team, but maybe Mach Punch is too weak compared to Focus Punch?

It would basically let me SubSeed anything slower than me, and then give me a check to Choice Scarf Tyranitars and Terrakions, what have you, in the late game.

I don't want to sound like a smart aleck, but don't you mean Careful? I am sorry, but it just really bugs me...
I have a set in mind: one from CAP (bet a bunch of you know it already).

Breloom@Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Nature: Adamant
EV: 12 HP / 252 Atk / 244 Spe
-Stun Spore
-Spore
-Substitute
-Focus Punch
This set may seem unorthodox, but it is viable. With the threat of Spore, and the limited amount of Rest-talkers, players will usually choose to sack the least valuable member of the team. This is where Stun Spore comes in. Paralyzing a counter/revenge killer on the switch is awesome, since Breloom's most disappointing stat (to me) is it's speed. You can then either a) Sub, b) Falcon Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaawnch (couldn't resist) or c) switch to a counter to the now paralyzed pokemon. Rinse and repeat. :)

I can't remember when I exactly I came up with a similar build. The difference was that I prefer less speed nowadays; you are not guaranteed to force something switch out when you put it to sleep before it has the chance to make a move because there is a possibility they just stay in. The only exception is Skarmory because it usually reteliates with Brave Bird. Both of them have the same base speed, so I won't go into the detail with the speed creep, but a spead with more bulk and less speed is possible and viable.

Bulk up Looms should always run Drain Punch, Mach Punch is not an option. That set is primarily used as a pivot, it needs to stay alive for a majority of the game to tank Rotom hits.

Yes i meant Careful, my bad.

Quick note about Bulk Up Breloom. In my opinion, Seed Bomb is superior to Stone Edge. Besides the obvious accuracy and PP problems, Breloom's main boon in the metagame is its ability to pummel Rain stall. Toxic Spikes? Yeah, I'll just be saving myself a Toxic Orb turn. Hydro Pump? Yeah, I'll just be coming in and Seed Bombing ya to death. Ferrothorn? Thanks for the free HP. Seed Bomb is a better option for hitting the bulky waters and such commonly found on Rain teams. Although you are walled by Flying-types, its not like you want to be eating a Brave Bird or Acrobatics anyways. Besides, you can always put them to sleep.
