Hey i have a big question, today my dragapult wasn't able to go first against a darmanitan and a chandelure, in both times i was at least 100+ faster, no times where in a priority move, is that some bug? has anyone else saw it happening, i'll try recreating later and having a replay to post here

Hello! I think this is only a problem with the replays themselves, not with the original battles (I wasn't actually a participant in either battle - these are just two of the featured replays - but they seem to have gone on fine), but here's another (slightly more extreme) version of the red text bug:

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/exeggutorboldalakazam
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou2258347

While switching is displayed just fine, and certain end-of-move and end-of-turn effects also display messages (like hazards being set, "The Pokémon was hit five times!" and weather messages), but it seems like every single attempt to use a move fails. I noticed a Landorus-T entering at less than full HP, so it might be calculating correctly but not displaying properly, but no move is ever shown to do damage and no Pokémon are ever shown to faint.
This does not appear to be a problem with other replays from what I've seen, but I've also attempted reloading the page to see if it recurs (and it does), so I think it's something specific to these battles rather than either replays in general or a loading error?

Hey guys, I've had an issue recently and I think it may be a bug. On April 1st The Happy Place held a 2v2 Single Elimination Tournament, and I joined. In the first battle I used the command /afd off, and the sprites returned to normal. However, after using said command I was unable to select any moves and I had to refresh the page in order to be able to battle (this was on mobile). I've asked about it in Help and other mobile users stated that they too had issues selecting moves after using /afd on and /add off , having to restart/refresh in order to battle. Hope this is looked into.

My immediate guess would be external speed factors, such as sticky web or tailwind being in effect.

I noticed that a pokemon that is locked on outrage and that gets cursed body doesn't use struggle immediatly. I don't know if this is normal so I post this replay here: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8randombattle-1090942557
It's normal, outrage puts you in a state that you're locked into a move, but contrary to using a choiced item, it'll simply fail, to stop the outrage state, on the next turn you're free to pick any move (Unless you're also choiced.)

Cloud Nine doesn't appear to work as normal in Shared Power https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen8sharedpower-1091146871-8b17p8izas6rwnf6meptjsedpiile4lpw

Here, you can see that even though Drampa with Cloud Nine was active, the Chlorophyll Venusaur still outsped the Darmanitan (who is also scarfed, mind you), and it's not just abilities that are unaffected, normal weather mechanics appear to function as normal despite Cloud Nine being active as Ninetales' Solar Beam went off in the same turn. Idk if there's a better place to put this

Approved by cant say

While watching this replay between AuraRayquaza and Demantoid from the current BSPL season, I noticed that, on Turn 3, AuraRayquaza's Dusclops revealed the Zap Plate that Demantoid's Dracozolt was holding.

The Zap Plate item is currently unavailable in the Gen 8 games and so is the rest of the Arceus plates, bar the Pixie one.

I figured it was worth bringing this up and cant say suggested I should post about it here.

Technically speaking, Demantoid did not really have an unfair advantage over AuraRayquaza, considering the fact that the Magnet item would also increase Electric-type moves by 20% and that item is available in the Gen 8 games.

I figured Shared Power's mechanics must have changed and they actually have. But it sadly doesn't explain why chlorophyll worked under cloud nine. If not done yet you should probably report this to the Shared Power Metagame thread.

I am not sure if this is intentional, but the plates aren't able to be used in national dex, as it says they don't exist in gen 8.
This does seem to be a bug.

This change today, (correctly) made Plates deprecated in standard metas:-

https://github.com/smogon/pokemon-showdown/commit/64d42624b83d00251d3b08d7f62dcbb0284fa32e

However, Plates are items that apparently should be reinstated by Nat Dex:-

https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/national-dex-mechanics-thread.3656786/#post-8292815

We are only freeing items that are necessary for old mechanics (mega stones, z-crystals), or unique held items for Pokemon that were cut from the dex (like Soul Dew). The full list is: All Z-Crystals, Mega Stones, Arceus Plates (except Pixie Plate which is already in the game), and Genesect Drives, Blue Orb, Red Orb, Deep Sea Scale, Deep Sea Tooth, Lucky Punch, Soul Dew, Thick Club, Lustrous Orb, Adamant Orb, Griseous Orb.
It seems that either the 'Standard NatDex' rule's onValidateSet is wrongly expressed and should be changed, or the Plates were meant to have an 'itemUser' but do not.

As you can see, for some reason, the ladder doesn't update properly. For reference, this is the match I fought before this change happened.
It looks like, between those two screenshots, you won one match and lost one match. The number of battles fought went up by two, the number of wins went up by one, the number of losses went up by one, and your various ratings adjusted to show that your win ratio was (just slightly) closer to 50%. I think that's normal?

Sometimes, the ladder needs a bit of time to update because the ladder database took too long to respond. This is why you see that message. Its normal, by the looks of it.

When giving a member of the Gengar line the move Poison Gas (a new addition from Let's Go), you get the validation error, "Gengar's move Poison Gas is not available in generation 8."
