Bug Reports v3 [READ ORIGINAL POST before posting]

While i was messing up with some level 5 rules, i stumbled upon a validation problem :
Pokemon that evolve by other means than leveling up (stone, trade, happiness,...) can be set to be at any level EVEN WHEN their previous state of evolution evolves by level.
For example Tangrowth is available at level 5 because Tangela is available at level 4 (since it's the first in the evolution line) and it evolves by learning Ancient Power
However Gengar SHOULD NOT be available at level 5 because Haunter evolves at level 25.
The problem is that Gengar, and almost any other third stage Pokemon that evolve by other means than leveling up, can be set at level 5 despite that.
This also applies to Pokemon like Silvally and Naganadel whose pre-evolution is not available at level 4 because of the way you get them ingame.

Hello, I just encountered a bug (or my opponent cheating?) in a gen 3 OU game. I am absolutely sure my Dugtrio had full speed evs, it was facing a Metagross with no boost in speed, and still the metagross was faster than my dugtrio. I think if the opponent was using quick claw there would be a message showing it, but there wasn't. Here is the battle replay : https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen3ou-964822922
What happened?

He is Quick Claw.
Quick Claw doesn't have an animation/message in gen 3

Flower Veil's activation messages seem fine for status inflicting moves now, but are still swapped for stat drop moves.

My Shaymin has Flower Veil and my Skymin has Simple. Both Shaymins are protected by Flower Veil, but the protected targets are shown as activating Flower Veil themselves and the real Flower Veil user (8/22 blaze it) is always mentioned in the "surrounded itself" message/has the "Stat drop blocked" text when playing animations. Afterwards Skymin is shown as having Flower Veil in the hover display.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7metronomebattle-965106401
On Turn 1 Skymin uses Sweet Scent and gets Magic Bounced back to both Shaymins. I don't think Magic Bounce affects the result though.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7metronomebattle-965109105
On turn 7 Venusaur sand-attacks Skymin directly.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7metronomebattle-965096718 (Spectator example)
In turn #3 a Magic Bounce Shaymin is accurately protected from Lovely Kiss and Flower Veil is revealed on the other Shaymin. Then from turn 4 when Flower Veil protects from Defog, his ability is shown as Ability: Flower Veil (base: Magic Bounce) on hover.

Sodium, atomic number 11, was first isolated by Humphry Davy in 1807. A chemical component of salt, he named it Na in honor of the saltiest region on earth, North America.

Also, Flower Veil and other abilities such as Magic Bounce and Harvest show twice on hover in both Ability and (base:) after they visibly activate. It kind of works as an alternative to seeing the opponent's knowledge like in the past.

i'm unsure if this is an actual bug but in the games, in a double battle when you target your own side of the field when you have no partner it redirects to the opponent i'm pretty sure. but on PS! it just says the move fails.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7doublesou-965125565-6ueuuflwgy4wa6h5fqg8w30s544cyvbpw

an example of it failing (turn 2 aqua jet).

posting here too just incase
Not a bug; if you attack an empty partner slot on cartridge, the move will not redirect to an opponent.

Turn 4: My kee berry Snorlax gets healed by Present and eats the Kee Berry. Ingame this scenario does not activate the Kee berry.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7metronomebattle-965830098
At the end of turn 5 Future Sight says it fails because it targetted the user (used Turn 3). I'm not sure what happened here, usually it just says the target fainted.

EDIT: On PS when Conversion 2 is used after a move called from another move, Conversion 2 bases the type change off the calling move's type rather than the final called move.

Ingame, Conversion 2 changes type based off the final called move. (Tested with Nature Power -> Energy Ball on wild Smeargle)

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7metronomebattle-966393937 - Replay with Metronome (Turn 2), Wishiwashi Conversions 2s into a Ghost from Metronome's Normal type and not the moves called by either opponent.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-966478773 - Test replay with Assist. Thunderbolt yields Dragon/Ground/Electric/Grass, Assisted Thunderbolt results in Ghost/Rock/Steel (Normal resists).

EDIT 2:

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7metronomebattle-966815444

Turn: 5, guzzlord (genderless) uses Captivate, Sableye (female) magic bounces it back and it lowers Wishiwashi (male)'s and Guzzlord's (incorrect) special attack. It seems like this is similar to the synchronoise bug where if one target works then it hits all of them. Also it says 'but it failed' at the end of the move.

EDIT 3: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7metronomebattle-967155146 A minor observation on synchronoise 'gltch' so I'll leave it to an edit for myself.
On turn 3 I use Synchronoise with Azumarill and Articuno/Gyarados/Gardevoir on the field. Same as always but instead of hitting a different type, it fails on the same type (Water). Seems like it checked for my partner first and it just goes based on that.

I know there were some bug reports in the past in which Illusion caused the client to incorrectly show 7 Pokémon in the opponent's team, but today I found out it can also happen on the user's side as well:

question here: bug or not bug?

1. I know dark type is immune to prankster status moves from opponent. But it is not immune to friendly prankster status moves, and I am assuming that is not a bug, but a mechanic?
2. Ring target is supposed to "[remove] the holder's type immunities to moves" (cited from Bulbapedia wiki). Here it didn't not remove the dark pokemon holder's type immunities to prankster status moves. I am assuming this belongs to the same explanation to as why "[Ring target] does not affect other type-based immunities, such as Grass type Pokémon being immune to powder and spore moves"?

Not sure if this is a bug or if there's a known explanation, was checking my Zapdos's IVs in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and was verifying in Showdown before I figured out the Judge function, Showdown represents a level 50 Timid Zapdos as having a 134 speed stat with zero EVs at 31/30 IVs, 132 speed at 29 IVs. My "Best" IV Zapdos shows as having 133 Speed. Pictures for verification. Again, not sure if this is a bug with the stat formula or if there's a known explanation, but its an untouched LGPE Zapdos differing from Showdown display so thought I'd share:

Could be the happiness boost? Zapdos's base ingame is 35 so you may be getting a lower enough bonus than Showdown's 70 (used in battles apparently) to offset the stat by 1 as well as SpA/SpD.

It is indeed the friendship boost. LGPE stats are calculated more or less as (raw stat * Nature * friendship + AV), where friendship is floor((friendship / 255 / 10 + 1) * 100) / 100.

Raw stat here includes EVs and IVs, but LGPE has no EVs, so a level 50 Timid Zapdos with 31 IVs and 0 friendship has the same Speed as any other Timid 31 IV Zapdos with no EVs in other games; 132. Since you said it was untouched, that means it has 35 friendship, which makes its actual Speed floor(floor((35 / 255 / 10 + 1) * 100) / 100 * 132) = 133.

Apparently Wi-Fi battles set everything to 70 friendship, which means your Speed stat would be floor(floor((70 / 255 / 10 + 1) * 100) / 100 * 132) = 134, and this is what PS always shows in the teambuilder.

Neither of these are bugs.
  1. Dark-types are not immune to Prankster-boosted attacks from an ally, in a similar way to how Helping Hand isn't stopped in Psychic Terrain.
  2. Ring Target does not let Dark-types be hit by Prankster moves. Ring Target only affects type immunities like Thunderbolt into Ground-type; you can't burn a Ring Target Fire-type Pokemon with Will-o-Wisp, as another example.

Path to obtain legitimately - breed a Hitmonlee with High Jump Kick which is passed down to the child Tyrogue. Evolve HJK Tyrogue into Hitmonchan and relearn Mach Punch and Bullet Punch (level up at 16 in BW). Breed resulting HJK/Mach Punch/Bullet Punch Hitmonchan with a Ditto for a Tyrogue with all three moves.

Main oddity here is that Bullet Punch isn't throwing up the incompatibility since it's obtained in an identical way to Mach Punch.

Hello!
Wanted to report this match because of a possible visual bug.

Gengar used Destiny Bond on Naganadel, both got defeated. However, Naganadel was always up for me and the icon was grey while I had another pokeball icon. Even in the bar below, I don't remember seeing Zoroark sprite (though, it might be possible I've seen wrong). In the image shown, I used all pokémons available.

Quoting what a person said after watching this:
"the key here is that your illusion never got busted so only you're supposed to know it's a zoroark and your opponent is not"

Edit: After reading it's ability I understand what happened "When this Pokemon switches in, it appears as the last unfainted Pokemon in its party until it takes direct damage from another Pokemon's attack.". Not sure if pokémons icons of the party (grey and even bar where a player can choose) should change.
