Sacred Sword should not be considered a Usually Useless Move, since it's a 90 base power move without recoil or recharge. This applies to both Gallade and Chien-Pao (image 1), as well as the unreleased Samurott and Zacian, in the Gen 9 OU format.
This also notably applies to Kartana in older gens' OUs, too (image 2).
(A comparable move would be Hyper Voice, which has the same base power and accuracy, no positive side-effect, is also in Gallade's movepool, is of a worse offensive typing if that's checked for, and yet isn't considered Usually Useless.)

Generation 6-8 are currently using the newer models from Generation 9, such as Mewtwo and Vaporeon

BUG STATUS: NOT A BUG, PS only has one directory for Gen 6+ animated models, which the new Gen 9 ones get added into as well. (Kris)

On turn 2, Orthworm uses Shed Tail while being Leech Seeded. This makes Leech Seed's battle effect go away (I believe correctly) but the visual of Leech Seed remains for the rest of the battle. Probably a simple issue of no flag turning off the Leech Seed graphic.

BUG STATUS: CONFIRMED - Mechanics (Client): Let the animations play out fully without skipping to see this bug :furret:

Interaction between Protean and Copycat, doesn't change pokemon type to type of move copied, transforms pokemon into normal type instead.
In game interaction functions as follows:
pokemon with protean uses copycat, becomes type of the move used most recently, proceeds to then use said move.
This bug means that STAB cannot be applied for this turn and could result in losses where STAB would have made the difference.

(Please see image provided for proof of the interaction not functioning as intended).
Thanks team!

Gen 9 Randoms - Hisuian Zoroark is showing up as Regular Zoroark in thumbnail previews prior to being revealed.

I neglected to save the replay or screenshot (my bad), but here's what happened:

-Opponent used Arcanine.
-Arcanine took damage.
-Opponent switches Arcanine out.
-Arcanine switches in later at full health.
-Opponent team preview reveals Regular Zoroark.
-I use Fighting move - no effect.
-I use Ground move - Hisuian Zoroark appears
-Opponent team preview now shows Hisuian Zoroark

Not a bug. The client can infer the existence of a Zoroark but won't know which one until it's actually revealed.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug but don't know for sure, but Bitter Blade doesn't work with Triage, as in it doesn't benefit from the bonus priority as Giga Drain and other offensive healing moves do
no Pokémon has this as a legal combination, so I understand why it went off radar and it's probably just something for Balanced Hackmons players, but still

BUG STATUS: NOT A BUG, Bitter Blade doesn't get the heal flag that Triage checks for in-game. (Kris)

Noticed a bug in the Teambuilder where Klawf cannot have Block and Orthworm cannot have Headbutt, despite the fact that the Former Titan versions of them that you can catch in SV normally have these moves.

Suggestion for the names in the left corner not to be cut off a little and stay better aligned.

I can't tell for sure the nature of the glitch, but it doesn't seem that proto/quark boost given from baton pass works at all. they show the mark on the Pokémon and on its stats, but It doesn't seem it change anything from an unboosted Pokémon

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9doublesou-1770174924-ycdg4k55fnw84sdpyuh1dvpjipcw8prpw

Their Pelipper is 251 speed, boosted by tailwind which makes 502 in total, and I'm choice scarf chi-yu and the proto boost, but the game seems to only applies the choice scarf

BUG STATUS: CONFIRMED - MECHANICS (CLIENT) Not recieving the protosynthesis boost is correct as baton pass can’t pass that, but the volatile tag should’ve been removed (Karthik)

Mega Pokemon lose their Mega Evolution upon fainting on cartridge, but due to an oversight, Revival Blessing allows them to keep their Mega Evolution. This is not the case in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon cartridge. When a Pokemon faints with Mega Evolution, it reverts to base form and cannot re-trigger Mega Evolution for the remainder of the battle should it get revived via an item. This is relevant in National Dex Anything Goes.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9nationaldexag-1770283130-6g4765i64yoi28fff73tnbimchbjwvqpw

Opponent's Mega Tyranitar kept getting Revival Blessed, but kept coming in the battle as Tyranitar-Mega, not Tyranitar.

BUG STATUS: CONFIRMED - MECHANICS (SERVER), fainted form regression applies to some other stuff too (DaWoblefet)

Bug: Ruin abilities (Sword of Ruin, Tablets of Ruin, etc.) shouldn't affect anyone who also has the same Ability, but they do.

According to Bulbapedia, Pokemon with Sword of Ruin and its variations are immune to the same Ability, but e.g. Sword of Ruin mons are not immune to Tablets of Ruin mons.

Tested with a Chien-Pao and a Hypno in Partners in Crime, and in Doubles OU. Due to the former OM's mechanics, both Chien-Pao and Hypno have Sword of Ruin at the same time.
:chien-pao: Chien-Pao @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sword of Ruin
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Atk / 44 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 9 Spe
- Crunch

:hypno: Hypno @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Insomnia
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 252 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Role Play

Relevant replays:
Partners in Crime replay
Doubles OU replay

Before doing both tests, I made sure to precisely calculate so that if Hypno has Sword of Ruin, it can't get OHKO'd by Chien-Pao's Crunch, but the move is guaranteed to OHKO if Hypno doesn't have Sword of Ruin, and that Hypno outspeeds Chien-Pao.
To simulate this, I changed Chien-Pao's Ability, and not Hypno's.

If Hypno has Sword of Ruin:

If Hypno does not have Sword of Ruin:
1673546168416.png
If the Abilities were already coded like that, Hypno would have not been OHKO'd (in both battles).

All this means that this is a server bug (Showdown-cartridge discrepancy).

BUG STATUS: FIXED (#9328)
