CAP 3 CAP 3 - Part 2 (Secondary Type)

I'm totally hating another Rock weak pokemon, but I guess we have no choice now. I love the concept of Fire/Water, but weakness to Ground and Electric on top of the Rock weak, that's just too much to handle. And we don't need another water. If this thing is going to eat 25% on SRocks, then it might as well have great coverage elsewhere --- Make a little more room on the bandwagon....

Yes, Grass

Grass

Fire/Grass is probably the strongest candidate to end the fire type competitive curse. The Grass type secondary would make most rock, ground and water types think twice about switching on your fire type a luxury no other fire type has going for it

fire/grass

2x weaks
rock, flying, poison(lol)
2x resists
electric
4x resists
grass

When you look at you just have to smile a fire type with no water weakness or ground weakness. This would be the "Blade" of fire type pokemons, all of fire strengths and none of it weakness (yeah I am ignoring rock). The typing in truth does not bring anything super special to the metagame meaning it is not going to be a blissey killer or a dragon killer or amazing combo change up how the game is played but it should give you something you never had before full confidence in switching a fire type. If you to make a decision based on traditionally Fire types have high attacking abilities and grass types are solid defensively with good amount of support moves which is a nice mix.

This Pokémon also will probably be a lock for chlorophyll trait. This will be the first pokemon that use sunny day like how water types use rain dance that is one of the bigger bonus of making this pokemon.

I am fine with Fire/Water but fire/grass is the better choice I think.

Also I was looking at all of the fire moves "Lava plume" just seem to jump out.
.

I hadn't thought about the full implications of that. This pokemon could be to Sunny Day what Kingdra is to Rain Dance.....

Stab Solarbeams and Fireblast on the same pokemon with a speed boost plus the fire blast is boost by sunny day and possibly life orb. Also no weakness to water or ground on a fire type.I take back what i said this poke could be something special.

You'd still have to give it the Stats that justify it's usage, as there's not much else going for Sunny day teams excepting random chlorophyll pokes and Instant Solarbeam.

I'm not in love with the Sunflora evo idea either. You know what it would evolve into?

normal_x8_optic_sunflower_3d.jpg

I don't want a lazer-firin' flower as our next pokemon. ._>

I'm kinda surprised no one has shown Carnivine any love with a new evo proposition. A flaming vine totally beats the hell out of any effeminate flower.

I want the art polls to come faster because I have so many new ideas to splurge out!

No. Fire attacks are boosted,Water damage is reduced which is good for ground, rock, and fire types.Synthesis and "?" are improved.Plus sunny day cancel out other weather effects meaning if your sunny day team is facing a hail, stream or rain based team not only do you stop their strat but many members of those teams hate see poke with a strong grass or fire attack.Plus the stuff you mention.

Sorry but that pic made me kinda want a sunflora evo :)

You can't make a team with a sunny day starter, this poke, and a whole lot of random other shit chlorophyll users. You'd have to give it stats worth using it for. And i think that a Bulky Fire/Grass would just be so much better.

I agree that a bulky Fire / Grass should be emphasized...Though I do not see the problem of adding a Kingdra-type equivalent for Sunny Day, in terms of sweeping anyway. Sunny Day teams are by far the least used teams out of the four weather effects, and providing a great sweeper for those teams is kinda cool (this is of course assuming that this Pokemon gets Chlorophyl...which I am almost 100% positive we will end up giving to it). In terms of balance, adding the Kingdra-equivalent could actually be beneficial.

I'm also going to push for this to have a higher base Special Attack than Attack because Grass / Fire attacks are resisted by Fire and Dragon predominantly, and since in OU I'm not worrying too much about Fires, I'd prefer to be able to use HP Ice effectively against Salamence / Dragonite / Flygon / Garchomp.

.....*head just exploded from the idea of a Fire/Grass Carnivine evo*. You know what...that just got me thinking of a fiery Venus Fly Trap/Heartless thing. Note, I'm seriously about the heartless part.

Also lol @ Flowerman.

Well then draw them out while you wait for the art poll, then when it comes you can spam us all with your ideas.

So will all of the Impulse voting and Vote and run be ignored?
Not sure really. It could help bring more discussion into the forum but some people may not be able to explain their reasoning for voting on something very well.

O, if Porcupine doesn't win out, then I am definitely loving the idea of a Carnivine evolution...Flaming vines does some way cooler than a freaking pepper, lol.

Fire and Grass

Here is my idea on what I think would make a great Fire/Grass Poke.

Dimetrodon

Dimetron's have often been portraiyed as green dinosaurs (also bright in colors) which hints at possible grass and fire color possibilities. And the perfect plant that I can think of that represents heat and fire, is the chili pepper.

chili_pepper.jpg

They come in all sorts of sizes, colors, and shapes, and can perfectly be put on a dimetrodon type monster as its horns/spikes then fire can emit out of its back to make the rest of the missing frill parts. The chili peppers can also conveniently be formed into what would look like a rising sun with pointy peppers as beams out of its back, which would be perfect for a sort of "rising sun Pokemon" that can introduce an automatic Sunny Day switching ability to be used in OU like a rival to Tyranitar. It would also look badass blowing fire/smoking out of its mouth out or solarbeaming. With the tail it can also be a capable physical attacker (powerwhip).

Anyhow, feel free to steal my dimetrodon idea for concept art, just give me credit for the idea if you got it from me. I will be trying my own concept art on it, but I'd really like to see this type of Grass/Fire Pokemon. If someone wants to try and draw their own take on this concept, then by all means go ahead.

If it turns out to be a sweeper, it will have chlorophyll. If not, i suggest again, Insomnia and Flash Fire.

@Aldaron: The reason no-one uses Sunny Day teams is they have nothing going for them. Even if this was made a Sunny Day kingdra equivalent, there's no reason to make a team when all you've got is a bulky lead to set up Sunny Day and this poke.

Let see

Dusknoir-Sunny day starter
Cresselia
Heatran
Fire/Grass poke
Inferape
Ludicolo

Looks fine to me.You need broaden your thinking. To have a team with weather does not mean you have load up on the same types of poke.Sunny day teams are not made because only other type that benefit from sunnyday "fire" suck badly on a whole. This poke will help to solve that.

Also no perma sunny day non uber is a big factor too

I dunno, I have seen a few effective Sunny Day teams that were simply missing some extra OUMPH. A Kingdra-type Pokemon would definitely give that extra OUMPH.

Remember, a Sunny Day team doesn't necessarily even have to emphasize Sunny Day; it just has to use it. As a personal example, my "Rain Dance" team only has one Pokemon, Jirachi, using Rain Dance and only one Pokemon, Kingdra, taking direct advantage of it.

I can already see something like Gyarados, a Pokemon that often lures in HP Electric Waters like Vaporeon, Milotic and Suicune, using Sunny Day on a surprise Choice Band set, and assisting a sweep.

Or even something like any physical attacker (Weavile?) throwing Sunny Day on a set just to lure in Skarmory / Steelix / any Steel / Rock / Bulky Water / Ground and setting this Pokemon up.

That one option really does open a myriad of possibilities for Sunny Day.
