CAP 3 CAP 3 - Part 2 (Secondary Type)

Vegetation

I like the idea of the carnivine evo. make it look nastier put a ball of flame under its head, wrap vines around it and taper them off into a tail.

Grass - Do I really have to explain?

We could have a problem if we're looking for a Sunflora / Carnivine evo to come out of this. After all, if a Pokemon's type is changed upon evolving, it's always Type2 that is changed (sans Azurill and Swablu). However, since Type1 is Fire, this evolution would change Type1. It's just not consistent with the other evolutions.

In the evo poll, I believe there should be an option to change the evo's type to Grass/Fire. I'd definitely vote for a Sunflora evo in that case.

@CotH: We'll fix that up if the public so chooses. I'll also add Carnivine evo to Art options.

@Mekkah: Sorry >.< I have a bias towards myself, so for posts (Like this one) I can't tell if it's TOO spammy. Some posts are just shit, and the worse thing is i know it =\

@Jolt: Sounds great. I can't see a physical grass move for it though, as your description lacks arms.

Yes, Grass.

This combination gives you several options to play with, and that is enough reason for me, at least.

Yes, Fire/Grass

Reasons for Fire/Grass:

Complimentarity:

Fire, for all the hate it gets, has 5 resistances, 3 of which nuetralize Grass's long list of weaknesses.

Similarly, of Grass's 4 resistances, 2 of those neutralize Fire's weaknesses.

The net result:

Resist: Grass 4x, Electric 2x, Steel 2x

Weak: Rock 2x, Poison 2x, Flying 2x

Rock is the only really common weakness here. Most of the Poisons really don't take a decently powered Fire Blast well, and the most common deleiverer of fling attacks, Skarmory, doesn't want to set foot anywhere near Fire Blast. Togekiss is the biggest problem, really.

Fire type that doesn't imediately die when Gyarados switches in? Quite GG. Sure, there might be a few Stone Edge variants around, but Waterfall/EQ/Ice Fang will be SOL while it eats 120 BP STAB Grass Knots.

Grass type that doesn't wilt every time Weavile or random IBeam packing water switches in (or happens to be out)? yes plox. For all the weirdness it seems, Fire nuetralizes the biggest water-type counter to Grass types since it now takes nuetral damage from Ice Beam.

STAB Combo Fire/Grass has a lot of good coverage, and is resisted only by Dragons and oher Fire types. Thing is, only the Dragon/Flying types actually still resist both, and they can be addressed by HP Ice. Heatran is probably the biggest problem for the combo. However, Fire types pretty much immediately lose their efficacy as counters if we give this Flash Fire, bar Moltres who could use a Flying move.

Not only that, but they cover the traditional weaknesses of either type. Grass hits Water, Rock, and Ground types hard, while Fire demolishes the Bug, Ice, and Steel types that give grassers headaches, while taking out other Grassers that just stall them out.

Not only that, but Fire Blast is pretty much pound-for-pound the best 120 BP special move. On a Sunnybeam set it would have a fairly accurate and ridiculously powerful FB combined with a STAB 100% acc Solarbeam.

Support:

Leech Seed is awesome. Will-O-Wisp is awesome. Leech Seed and WoW is wtf mate! If it gets Lava Plume than even better. Grassers also traditionnally have Powders, although that might make less sense on a part fire type. Still, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, and Will-O-Wisp would be BEAST (not all in the same set).

I know the effort you've put into this, but i've already done a writeup in the other thread =\

You've phrased it so much better though.

Which set would you be more inclined to support (On 3rd page)?

Don't have time to get into a discussion at the moment, but:

Yes, Grass.

Details in previous thread.

As I discussed in the previous topic, I'll simply say Grass.

A red Carnivine evolution would work, here, it doesn't even have to be on fire like most people are thinking. x)

I'll be more clear in my description:

Carnivine's head, but with black eyes. Somewhat elongated head, white teeth, a couple of leaves sprouting from its neck.

Its body will be a fireball. tangled vines will be wrapped around the ball but not touching it. The bottom will taper off into either a tail, some mismatched vines, or a foot. A bulb or roots to be more precise.

The top will also taper off, and become the neck. Multiple arms/whips could be added. Colour should be a light grassy green.

I'm having trouble with a name. Suggestions?

I also feel the new pokemon's secondary type should be Grass.

I agree with most of the posts here, a Chili Pepper pokemon would be the way to go. Also I feel that it should not have sleep powder because the spiciness should keep a pokemon awake, wouldn't it?

Also, I feel Flash Fire should not be put on this.

I really like the dinosaur idea posted earlier. We can make it very similar to TTar and go for Drought. It could be our generation's "powerful 3-stage" that generally comes at the end of the game.

Lion sounds good as well.

I think it would be great if this thing was also Monster egg group and could thus go Dragon Dance/Flare Blitz or Fire Fang/Dragon Claw (a lot of pokes get as TM)/Energy Ball (for mixed) or Wood Hammer/Power Whip.

Anyway, it seems cool, and I love the typing, although my vote will uselessly go to DRAGON. For pure greatness.

I've changed my vote to grass, the next poison evo should go to Muk anywho.

Additionally, I like the idea of a Carnivine evo, him or Sunflora should get this CaP.

Fire/Grass needs some more votes lolol. But I think an evolution of an existing pokémon would be boring, I want an original pokémon.

It could be our generation's "powerful 3-stage" that generally comes at the end of the game.

Remember though, that this is not a game or generation we're making. We're merely adding Pokemon for trying to diversify and/or balance the standard metagame. We have no obligation to do this.

Yeah, 600 BST isn't really necessary.

90/90/70/120/110/50 - If this ultimately becomes a Sunflora evolution, this spread (530 BST) could be enough. We could even take some from the defenses and put it in Speed if we wanted to, but we don't need another 600 BST Pokemon.

I'm voting fire/electric. I'd really like to see some sort of evolution of Electrode that exploded a few too many times or something, but whatever. And if it goes the fast and fragile path, the compounded ground weakness might not make a huge difference.

I think we really need to decide on the at least the basic design before thinking about BST, moves and the like, but just for the sake of discussion, I really disagree with making it a base 600. 600 is reserved for the special legendaries, and from what I am getting, the community really isn't leaning towards making this a legendary.

Arcanine is 555, Togekiss is 545, but the awesome thing is that Kingdra is 540. We don't have mirror Kingdra's stats at all, but I think 540 would be a solid starting point for the BST. If we're going to "Start" anywhere, I think since we're most likely going to give it Chlorophyll, 540 BST would make the most sense.

Also, I'm loving the idea of a support Pokemon with Leech Seed, Will-O-Wisp, Reflect, Light Screen, Lava Plume, and then Chlorophyll to potentially sweep with SunnyBeam STAB...Glorious...
