I also like the Trick Room idea. It could stay in for 5-8 turns at most but it shouldn't be forever or that would be a bit broken. I think it should be an offensive pokemon with average defenses and horrible speed to give it's ability to it's max potential.

Concept: Special Guts
Description: A offensively oriented pokemon who would have average defenses at the most. With a Special version of Guts, it could be considered a Special Heracross in a sense, receiving a 1.5x boost in special attack when burned, poisoned, paralyzed, or asleep.

Concept: Tricky Special Wall
Description: A Pokemon with good HP, a high Special Defense, and a low Defense; but it takes advantage the low Defense stat with the ability Flame Body, Intimidate, or a similiar new Ability.

Concept: Unaware Support
Description: A defensive Pokemon with Unaware and a moveset that includes several beneficial support moves.

Concept: Bulky Dragon
Description: There are many dragons people use now offensivley (Garchomp, Salamence). How would it sound if we had a BULKY dragon for once. Almost like Godzilla. It would be very supportive and with very good defense but slightly higher sp. defense to take more of those nasty Ice moves. To make it balanced, it would have weak attack/sp. attack power.

Concept: Fast Tank
Description: It would be way cool to have a bulky tank fast for a change. Good defenses, nice speed but it could have average attack to make it balanced.

Concept: Defensive Weather Neutralizer
Description: I'm thinking of a Bulky pokemon that is quite sturdy with a nice base speed stat to really help with offensive threats. I think Cloud Nine / Air Lock is a must. For typing I was thinking a Bulky Water, but any type really can work. My description is pretty vague, but I think a good solid defensive pokemon with a bit of speed can really shift some usage away from the big threats.

Concept: Special Dragon
Description: I think an Elemental OU Dragon would be a very nice addtion. I'm all for getting eyes off of Garchomp, and something that can abuse Dragon Pulse would be refreshing compared to this Outrage-loving crowd. And for typing, not another painfully used Dragon / Flying or Dragon / Ground... My initial thought was a Bug / Dragon predesessor to Flygon to abuse Tail Glow and Flamepulse.

For all the responses to bulky dragons ^^^^, People forget that Garchomp, Dragonite, and Salamence can ALL be played defensively, and none of them have poor defensive stats.

I like that idea. An Altaria evolution with Cloud Nine would be perfect.

Concept: A good insomnia pokemon
Description: A pokemon with insomnia that is playable in OU. This would help against the always present threat of sleep induction. Could also be playable in ubers to help against Darkrai

Concept: "The bulky Ice-Pokemon"

Description:I think of an Ice/Rock combination, which should make use of his Attacking abilities while not being weak to Stealth Rock, etc. It should be an balanced Pkm with decent stats overall but lacking dealing much dmg.

Concept: "The Sand Scorpion"

Description: A Ground/Poison Pokemon who's a bit like Dugtrio. A good Revenge-Killer likely. With a bit more Attack but not the Arena Trap ability. His ability ( not sure of this ): His opponents cant get rid of his poison, neither through aromatherapy nor through natural cure. Rest still works.

I've faced plenty of defensive Dragonite and Salamence on Shoddy, and they work quite well, actually, when used correctly.

Well I havn't. And what I'm saying is this pokemon would only be able to tank. That's the only thing it would be good in. People could use DDMence, DDNite, CBChomp. Not many people would think of using them defensivley. But the point with the Bulky Dragon is, it's only used to be a wall/tank towards the foe.

Okay, now you lost me. Which concept are you referring to? We may be talking about two seperate ones.

Concept: Shedinja's opposite
Description: A bulky Pokémon with an ability that functions as the opposite of Wonder Guard (you're protected from Super Effective hits).

I'm refering to the Concept Submission I did on the Bulky Dragon. Raikou said that people use Salamence, Garchomp etc. as Bulky Dragons so there isn't a point in having one. And I'm saying not many people use those.

I've faced plenty of defensive Dragonite and Salamence on Shoddy, and they work quite well, actually, when used correctly.

But the problem is, those Pokémon aren't as good at defense as they are at offense. We need a purely-defensive Dragon-type (possibly with Steel as its secondary type to enhance its defensive capabilities).

I was thinking of a Grass/Dragon with Thick Fat as for the defensive dragon. The other dragons aren't ment to be defensive. This one should be.

Concept: STAB Explosion Glass Cannon
Description: A somewhat fast pokemon (about the speed of infernape)
with decent attack, and STAB explosion as a last resort.

Concept: Ice-Resisting Dragon
Description: A Dragon typed Pokemon (the other type will have to be Ice, Water, Fire or Steel) that somehow resists Ice through its ability. Since there are already Water and Steel Dragons I suppose a Fire or Ice Dragon type would be most appropriate. Hopefully it would be somewhat defensive, and preferrably its higher attack stat would be Special Attack.

Hopefully this isn't too restrictive :pirate: I italicised the last line because it might not be necessary.

Easy way to make this resist ice, is giving it Ice, Water, Fire, or Steel
typing, and then giving it thick fat =/

Ah, well I suggested an evo. Why can't we slightly change type again to help out its defenses? And it could even be a split evo off of Swablu, so changing its type can make a bit more sense. It doesn't even have to be a Dragon type, considering the fact that Swablu is Normal/Flying.

I was thinking of a Grass/Dragon with Thick Fat as for the defensive dragon. The other dragons aren't ment to be defensive. This one should be.

Dragon/Steel with Levitate is only weak to Fighting, making it a good defensive typing.

Even though I don't agree with the typing you suggested, I think there should be a purely defensive Dragon-type.

Right now, I can see people are rooting for an Ice resisting dragon. Bulky enough and more on the SpA side. So, I'll tweak this up a bit.
Concept: Bulky Ice Resist Dragon
Description: It will basically be a Dragon that resists Ice (and maybe Dragon) super effectiveness as every Dragon has that weakness 2-4x. It should be pretty bulky as we don't have any of those dragons because they're mostly offensive. It should lean more towards the SpA side then Atk so we have a Special attacking dragon. It could also have Thick Fat to reduce Ice damage slightly more.

Even though I don't agree with the typing you suggested, I think there should be a purely defensive Dragon-type.

But then you're no longer following RaikouLover's concept of it being able to negate weather via Cloud Nine/Air Lock. Unless of course you are strictly coming up with a defensive Dragon, which isn't the nail I'm trying to hit.

Then the Bulky Dragon could have Cloud Nine as a second ability as the other would be Thick Fat.

Nowhere does it say that the Pokemon has to be a Dragon, just a bulky Pokemon in general. I suggested an Altaria evo because of it's appearance and its obvious relationship with Cloud Nine, defenses that can be capitalized on, and its decent speed, which fits the requirements of the concept. I think you got a bit confused seeing my suggestion and Raikou's concept so I just needed to clear that up.

EDIT: Shiny Noctowl, please take the time to read the rules. That's what they're there for.

EDIT: Type combos and Typing ideas are NOT a Concept. Concepts should suggest a role the pokemon will play in the metagame. This thread is not for people to get an early jump on cool typing suggestions.

Concept: Bulky Dragon
Description: A bulky Dragon-type, possibly with Steel as its second type and Levitate, although Dragon/Grass with Thick Fat or other type combinations are still possible. Leans slightly towards the Special side, seeing as most Dragons lean toward the Physical side.
