God Multi-Scale is amazing. I'm glad I picked Nite as my starter now!

And waybe we can get lucky with confusion.

Gale is now referred to by its canon English name, Hurricane, rather than its prospective translation.

Round 7 End
Nidhogg's Multiscale deactivated!
Myrkul's Shed Skin (6545) did not cure confusion.
It is raining.

[box]Nidhogg enteres play against a battered, but by no means weak, foe. It quickly takes stock of the situation. Weatherless? He could fix that presently.

Whipping the sky into a frenzy, Nidhogg calls down a torrential storm to drench the field and fighters alike. Striking with water of another sort, Myrkul batters the titan with ice, his presumed weakness—so why wasn't Nidhogg phased in the least?

A smirk and a gale were Myrkul's only answers—such force! It was all the mummy could do to stay wrapped. Aching as he rose, he could only collect himself from the ground and brace himself for the next gust.

That gust came soon, almost successively with the first. Myrkul found himself battered against the walls of the stands (not that the arena boundaries meant anything, mind). Assaulting Nidhogg once more with ice, Myrkul can only wonder—if this is how a weakness affects him, what does a resistance look like?[/box]

I think it is time that the highlight match showed some of the creativity that it was designed to show, so without further ado, an uncodified combo!

Alright, Dragonite, it's time to shine. Just batter it, but I suspect he's about to pull some shenaniganry with Endure, so we're going to need a backup plan. What you need to do is combine Gale and Icy Wind to create a powerful attack that will knock him out, but turn the skies with us for the duration of the attack (2 actions) so that it will be like it is hailing, even though the rain continues. That should stop his Endurance in its tracks. And you might need to dodge a combo if needed. Hopefully this can all work.

Wing Attack ~ Wing Attack ~ Wing Attack
IF Endure A1, use Icy Wind + Gale
IF Ice Punch AND it is in a combo with a priority move A1, use evasive Agility and move actions along.

I sure hope that combo won't work... As neither Icy Wind nor Hurricane have such a secondary effect. I could understand Hail + Hurricane, but this is frankly ridiculous. Either way, I'm waiting to know from Lou whether he will approve this or not before ordering.

I would not. If he really wanted to have that effect, Hail + Hurricane would have more impressive results, considering both moves call on weather manipulation, and that hail commonly accompanies such weather as tornadoes.

In all honesty, I probably shouldn't be posting this. Since you now know the result of the combo beforehand, I'm comfortable ruling the sub invalid—changing one player's known sub to "IF Endure A1, use nothing" is obscene enough without inviting abuse.

Dammit, not cool. People on IRC seemed to think it was okay. Anyway, in that case if he uses Endure, go with Ominous Wind + Toxic instead, which fits with all of the boring rules and I believe works together nicely. Toxic is a gas, remember, so it fits with an ominous wind.

This assuming I can change, which I'm not entirely sure about.

So... could you just give me your exact orders so I can reply with mine? I'm a bit confused (and no, this is not because of Hurricane!)

He means:

Wing Attack ~ Wing Attack ~ Wing Attack
IF Endure A1, use Ominous Wind + Toxic
IF Ice Punch AND it is in a combo with a priority move A1, use evasive Agility and move actions along.

Here we go. My final actions, for posterity.

Wing Attack ~ Wing Attack ~ Wing Attack
IF Endure, use Toxic that action
IF Ice Punch, use evasive Agility, unless he hasn't used Endure and it isn't in a combo with a priority move.

Oh, and the lack of secondary effect wasn't a consideration Zara. This is how combos were originally supposed to work. This just came down to Lou ignoring the Data Audit Thread ;)

I've reffed everything but this today. I think I'll ask for a few hours' extension and ref this in the morning. Technically it's DQ two hours ago, but... it's 4 in the morning here and fuck that.

Watch this space.

Myrkul fainted!

[box]And thusly does Myrkul peter out in a whimper. Nidhogg stretches, cursed and weakened but still capable of a great deal of carnage.

This time, however, it's his turn to play friend-or-foe. Zarator calls out one of his own allies, Nestor. Such strangeness! Perhaps it's some manner of game? In any event, Nidhogg thinks little of it, and sets in to enjoy the coming fight.[/box]

Let us attempt this.

Ice Beam - Ice Beam - Ice Beam
If Dragonite uses Double Team, replace your respective action with Icy Wind
If Dragonite uses Agility, replace your respective action(s) with Mud Sport, then with Nasty Plot (if Agility is used twice), then with Substitute (15 HP) (If Agility is used three times)

Athenodoros

Nope, I got nothing. All we can do is try to close the gap a bit.

Light Screen ~ Roost ~ Thunder

And God dammit Lou if you had a way out of this for me I will rage.

[box]Nidhogg weathers the punishing attacks to its weakpoint, but only just—long training learning to cover the very same weakpoint has taught Nestor a number of ways to make abuse of it.

Nidhogg sets up a paling against, and even relaxes in the brunt of these attacks, but they leave their mark nonetheless.[/box]

jsyk, I think I should be on 34 Energy rather than 53. Although it hardly matters now anyway. I can't think of a way out of this.

Safeguard ~ Endure ~ Thunderbolt
IF he uses Ice Beam A1 or A2 and it is in a non-spread combo, use Agilidodge ~ Thunder + Thunder

ggs to all concerned. Also, it is a shame those new sub rules hadn't come in to affect yet. They would have been damn helpful now.

I just put up Safeguard...

E: Forgot Dragon Tail would get rid of Endure. gg then, zara. It was a fun match.

E2: Oof. That was actually close to getting me another round there.

Effectively Athenodoros is right. Although tbh, your only chance of surviving your round was to hope Dragon Tail missed, or to hope Thunderbolt paralyzed AND left me fully paralyzed. Dragon Tail actually hit, though, so that leaves you with the 1,5% chance of the full paralysis scenario. Still, I feel Atheno is right and you should re-ref the last action.

EDIT: Heh, gg Atheno
