Project CAP Teambuilding Lab

Okay so a small update but there is now an archive of past requests (with direct links to the team and the post associated so you can understand the thought process of the builder) in the OP! I plan to add other OMs besides Monotype but for now we only have that + the regular tiers!

Also to not make this just an update, I wanna put in a simple request myself for the only SM builder we got atm SHSP and ask for a team built around Mega Alakazam.

Hello I would like to request a balance team built around :slowking-galar: and :Equilibra: they look like they would work well together with there typing.
Been a bit busy so sorry I am just getting to this, but here is the team!

:necturna::garganacl::arghonaut::equilibra::slowking-galar::roaring moon:

Courtesy of myself and Spammernoob this team actually has a funny story behind it. I was building Revenankh + Garganacl and as we were tweaking the team, Spammer came up with this final iteration and we also both realized that it fulfills the lab request you gave. Basically, Necturna + Garganacl is a super potent core in the right hands and Argh + Libra helps to shore up any defensive shortcomings the core may have. Slowking-Galar was added as a nice pivot and to slow down the opponent with paralysis support. The last slot we wanted something fast and Moon fit the bill perfectly. Speed Booster > Attack gives the team an emergency +1 Chuggalong check if it hasn't Tera'd as, alongside Ground Tera, EQ takes it out (or with Spikes damage if you wanna preserve the Tera).

Also have an update as well, but if anyone wants to submit requests for CAP UU teams, those are open as well now! The builders for that (for now) are myself and Spammernoob lol.

I would like to request an electric monotype team featuring defensive cyclohm/krillowatt core
:caribolt: :cyclohm: :krilowatt: :iron hands: :zapdos: :sandy shocks:

heyy wassup i came up with this, cyclohm is a sleeper pick, being able to defensively check annoying Gouging Fire for the team. It also provides the team with a much need hazard removal, which electric teams struggles to have besides rapid spin caribolt or regieleki. What i've done is basically made this team a pivoting team, slowly wearing down threats while also bring out your breakers like specs Zapdos or SD Caribolt in safely. With Defog, this also allows caribolt to run Quick Attack, which is just nice priority overall. Scarf Shocks for speed control and Specs Zapdos to offensively check Fighting teams and overall just a good breaker. AV Hands just a nice Special wall while hitting like a truck, the EV spread I just took from NDM but long story short it survives a +2 EQ from Dragonite from full while just maximize the rest in special bulk. And Krilo is straight forward.

What I like about the team is its ability to handle threats / tough matchups offensively and defensively while also having a chance to hinder shit via Static haha.

Hope you like it and like always happy gaming.

Other Options: Hands Moves can be change to whatever you need, Heavy Slam for Fairy, T Punch just for shits and giggles, or Volt Switch for even more pivoting. You can also make it a more offensive set with SD + Shuca berry. Caribolt can be Rapid Spin which betters itself as a setup sweeper while also freeing up a move slot on cyclohm for better coverage.

Bad MUs i see with this team is: Fairy, Dragon (always been the case lol), Fire and Poison to a degree.

Hope this Helps!

I would like to request a SS offense team around Zamazenta (hero form)

Hello young sires, I would like to request an offensive team featuring Healing Wish Equilibra.
I'm not a builder but I've got one of those for you.

:ogerpon-wellspring: :chuggalong: :kitsunoh: :tomohawk: :equilibra: :iron hands:

Basic premise: Chugg has an insane MU into offense, Ogerpon into balance, and Hands into fat. Double Healing Wish basically means that you can chuck attacks at important mons without being particularly concerned about HP management. The team is rather hazard-weak so Equilibra is crucial to keep hazards down while undoing chip done due to your important guys. There are some adjustments to be made that are kinda cool but the team is very fun to pilot and I'm glad I have an excuse to show it off.

Good day, I would like to request a Gen 9 SV team for room tours in CAP. I would like Jumbao:jumbao: and Krilowatt:krilowatt: in it. I don't have any team structure in mind, so be free.
:Jumbao::Krilowatt::Ting-Lu::Mollux::Kyurem::Kitsunoh:

Jumbao is a bit awkward since a lot of common Pokemon wall its STABs, as well as its non-Tera Blast coverage (Hemogoblin, Venomicon, Mollux, etc.). Thus, I opted for a more supportive set with Wish and Healing Wish. The spread is to maximize the size of Jumbao's Wishes, with speed to outspeed Great Tusk and the rest of the EVs in SpA (it could genuinely be in any stat except Atk...). Tera Ghost here is to deal with Zamazenta (which we might lose to anyways if Tera Fire).

Krilowatt is actually a great partner for Jumbao since it can threaten Flying and Fighting-types that are annoying for Jumbao. It also is very good in the Salt Cure infested meta we are currently in. Krilowatt also appreciates Wish support from Jumbao, as it has quite respectable bulk, but no recovery, and often has to trade due to it's mediocre offensive stats.

Ting-lu does the same thing it always does; set up hazards while sponging hits and being annoying. Covert Cloak is quite good into Salt Cure (Garg, Necturna kinda) and also lets it switch into Mollux for free (a Pokemon that is difficult for both Krilowatt and Jumbao to deal with). Ting-lu with Wish support is also notoriously annoying to deal with, so it seemed a good fit for the team.

Mollux was added as a hazard control option, since Ting-lu hates Spikes. I chose Mollux as it answers Hemogoblin, Venomicon, and Cresceidon, which the team has trouble with. Since Ting-lu is SpDef, I made Mollux PhysDef to better handle Hemogoblin and Ogerpon-W.

Kyurem is the team's main breaker. I opted for a Loaded Dice 4 attacks set for maximum breaking power. I'm not sure if this should be -Def or -SpDef (-SpDef seems better into the meta, but Scale Shot is lowering Def anyways so maybe -Def is OK?). There's not much to say about this thing, it's just very strong and enjoys getting multiple chances to break with Wish/HWish support.

Kitsunoh was added as the team sorely lacked speed. Shadow Strike and U-turn are pretty mandatory, and the team needed a Knock Off user so I put it here. The last move is Strength Sap, though with Jumbao Wish support I could honestly see Wisp or Encore being better. Bullying Equilibra, Venomicon, and Arghonaut is great, and Kit is just generally an annoying guy.

This was a funny team to build, hope you enjoy (and hope it wins in room tours lol).

Notes:
The Kyurem MU looks horrendous, but perhaps Jumbao can find a way to outtrade it with Tera. Gliscor is also really annoying; the MU might honestly be unplayable if it Teras, but I'm not sure.

There are a few cases of 4MSS on this team. For instance, Ting-lu really wants to run Spikes, and Kitsunoh really wants to run Encore/Wisp. Adjust to your preferences.

Steam Buns told me to use Tera Blast Electric Jumbao with Covert Cloak Ting-Lu originally, but I couldn't tell what the Tera Electric was for so I dropped it.

May I also just have any team for CAP that has a pajantom and a chuggalong in it im so used to existing pokemon that im clueless when it comes to CAP :(
(also how do you make the little sprites of pokemon appear in your messages?)

Hey guys I've got a request for the mad scientists working in the DPP section of the lab...while you guys are working on a top-secret groundbreaking discovery possibly on :voodoom:'s vast untapped potential in the meta, I'll just leave a request for a Dragonspam HO team featuring a offensive core of :latias: and either :dragonite: or :flygon: (or both!!)
It took a bit, but here is your team!
:heatran::latias::dragonite::revenankh::metagross::jirachi:

Seeing your idea, we settled on non-choice latias+ mixed Dragonite, there were a bunch of ideas floated around, eventually I proposed this 6. Latias and Dragonite form an offensive core that loves spamming dragon moves, as you requested, but are also just as good at destroying the usual switch ins with coverage.
This Latias coverage was what I found to be best given the structure of the team and the life orb set, you cover stuff like heatran, scizor, rachi, and Ttar too, and notably you get to deal a good chunk to ttar even after going -2 with draco. Pair that with some predictions and you can eliminate it outright.
Dragonite on the other hand is rather unconventional, I wanted to do something inspired by mixed DPP Salamence, you can drop a Draco Meteor and follow it up with an outrage (especially useful for revenankh here). Extreme speed can help finish dangerous sweepers like Gyarados.
Rev really helps you vs fast offensive teams that could otherwise be terrifying for this style, stuff like Krilowatt, scarf Latias Syclant, Stratagem especially. Metagross is a good steel to tank attacks aimed at the dragons, and a nice offensive threat after an agility. This one is pretty tanky and not very fast, just outspeed Stratagem at +2, but you can play around with the EVs. Zen Headbutt seemed non-negociable to deal with the likes of Revenankh, I really wanted to use Meteor Mash too but then certain variants of Starmie or Swampert could be a nightmare for this team, the option to explode on them is really nice.
Jirachi can help a lot vs various threats like Rev, gives you additional steel redundancy for the latias' of the world and baits stuff like scarf Flygon who could otherwise be very annoying.
Heatran felt like the best fit in the lead slot in part because it doesn't give a free spike to skarm, it also matches up well against other steel leads, and with Will-o-wisp this variant can bait a bunch of annoying mons. Getting rocks is pretty important, you can explode on nearly anything else not threatened by your moves. If kept in the back it can also help vs mons like Kitsunoh that the team otherwise dislikes, but it is still meant to be played as a lead.

Some dangerous mons you'll have to watch out for are Shadow Ball Fire Blast Stratagem with either calm mind or life orb, or both, especially in sand. Fire Blast Togekiss is rare but still can be difficult to take down. Gengar is manageable with passive damage and Rev but still scary. Kitsunoh too, thankfully we have lum on Metagross.

Some variants of this you could try are replacing the Dragonite with a Flygon of nearly the same set, this is good for being less Stealth Rocks weak and less Stratagem weak, though gyarados becomes even scarier. Occa is an option on Metagross for dealing with the dangerous Fire Blast carrying threats. Finally if you find yourself needing more speed control scarf Jirachi works, I'd make sure to give it some kind of move to annoy Rev, it can also helpfully Healing Wish your teammates, I just find that scarf Rachi can be a big waste in certain matchups. Thank you to the other two builders.

Might be a little soon to request another sorry lol but I would like to request a CAP UU team built around Astrolotl and SD Scizor (Rockpon works too). I think that they could go well together and am wondering how it could play out. Thanks :)

Version 1: :Astrolotl::Scizor::Thundurus-Therian::Kerfluffle::Rotom-Wash::Excadrill:
Version 2: :Astrolotl::Scizor::Thundurus-Therian::Okidogi::Sinistcha::Excadrill:

I figured a pivot core of Scizor + Thund-T would go well with Astro's Regenerator + Spikes-setting. Version 1 leans heavily into Volt-Turn with Kerfluffle and Rotom-W, while Version 2 tries to keep up Spikes with Sinistcha and uses scarf Okidogi as a cleaner/revenge killer.

Honestly don't have much time atm for a writeup, but hope you enjoy the teams.

Greetings I'm back again with another DPP request for a :machamp:team!!
Machamp is one of the most frustrating Pokemon you can face in dpp ou and it can become a solid wincon for opponent if you let it slip into a favourable position, thus prompting people to every so often seek tiering action against it . However I feel like its potential is quite widely unexplored in DPP CAP, possibly due to the presence of solid ghost mons, namely :revenankh: and :kitsunoh: that can easily switch into and shrug off the damage from it's 100 bp Payback (yep Payback hits switch-ins with doubled damage too), not to mention the NCure and lum berry spam and tendency of popular flying types like gyara, gliscor, Aerodactyl to run flying type coverage (sky attack, bounce) for argho, rev. Its currently ranked B-tier in the VR and didnt see much usage in capcl and cappl and mostly considered second-fiddle to other fighting type sweepers like loom, infernape and most of the times, Rev. Yet I believe Machamp has a totally unique and vast breaking potential in this meta thanks to its decent bulk and a good set of tools, we just need to find out the best teammates and team structure for it to do its thing.

Can i request a SV probably sun team around Malaconda and Iron Moth

:Malaconda::Iron Moth::Walking Wake::Great Tusk::Roaring Moon::Corviknight:

I was inspired to make this after spamming this Roaring Moon set in OU. It is probably a lot worse in CAP due to Arghonaut, but I feel like it should still be playable. Some of the sets here are genuinely quite experimental (especially moth), so if they don't work out feel free to adjust.

Sun has a major issue with a few matchups in the current meta that I think this variant somewhat addesses:
1. :cresceidon:
Cresceidon can survive 2 Tera Water Hydro Steams from full and threatens back with Thunder Wave and/or Moonblast. In general, Sun has difficulty switching in on the combination of Thunder Wave and Moonblast.

This team can use SpDef Corv as a pivot, U-turning to break Multiscale and bring in Malaconda for free (which can then threaten Glare/Knock Off or Parting Shot). Additionally, Roaring Moon can take advantage of Lum Berry and Tera Ground to set up on Cresceidon.

2. :hemogoblin:
Sun wants to spam dragons, so it's inevitably weak to Hemogoblin (it doesn't help that the best support pieces, Great Tusk and Malaconda, also lose to Hemogoblin).

On this team, we use Iron Moth and Tera Fire Great Tusk to check Hemogoblin. Notably, Great Tusk runs Rocky Helmet + Taunt to deny Hemogoblin the opportunity to set up, or take advantage of Sun to recover 2/3 HP with Moonlight. Boots Moth helps with the issue of taking 25% from Rocks switching in on Hemo, and possibly burning Booster if Moth is holding it.

3. :gliscor:
Gliscor with Protect can scout the moves of our Choiced breakers. Most notably Spikes variants are very annoying for Sun, since Spikes provide constant chip on Wake and Malaconda, and Glisc easily harasses spinner Tusk/Malaconda with Toxic and EQ chip.

On this team, Roaring Moon can take advantage of Gliscor's Protect/Toxic to set up multiple Dragon Dances and sweep. Additionally, Corviknight has a solid MU into Spikes Gliscor, and a very good MU into Spikes Arghonaut.

4. :slowking-galar:
Slowking-Galar can pivot in on Walking Wake and click Chilly Reception, resetting the Sun and removing a lot of momentum from the Sun team.

On this team, Roaring Moon can take advantage of Slowking Galar's Thunder Wave by terastallizing to set up multiple Dragon Dances and sweep.

5. :garganacl:
Garganacl with Protect can scout the moves of our Choiced breakers. Additionally, Tera Water can annoy Walking Wake greatly, and Sun has difficulty switching in to Salt Cure.

Previously, I have tried Covert Cloak offensive Tusk as a Garg answer (solid option) but here we use Tera Ground Moon with Roost to abuse Garg (a very committal answer, but sometimes you can force a win or major progress immediately). If opponent also has Argh, you might be doomed (perhaps Corv can be Cloak or something).

6. :kyurem:
Bad MU all around, good luck... Maybe SpDef Corv saves you here.

Can try 252+ Atk/80Def/176Spe on Moon to outspeed Kyurem. Otherwise, just outplay...
