Counter That Doubles Team #1 [Totem Vs Nollan] FIGHT!!! 1-0 Nollan

Nollan's core
It can be built upon in a bunch of ways and does the best job of countering KyuB and MegaKhan. Plus semi-TR is harder to counter back.

Not really sure how I didn't end the voting round. Nollan wins it obviously, so we now have our two participants.

BLOOD TOTEM and Nollan , please go ahead and decide who you'd like as your seconds and PM me your choice.

I'll post the next nomination round sometime this afternoon. Start thinking about the team starts now. I'll update the OP.

Begin Round 3!

This round will be focused around adding a 3rd member to Nollan's Team.

Try to think of ways to start solidifying the team, while not leaving huge gaps for Totem to abuse.

3 days. Go.

Reserving this post

Sylveon + Wide Guard Aegislash are two things that will be huge threats to what Nollan has so far. Gonna post something to try to deal with those things in the future.

(aka probably a Bisharp, Mega Gengar, or Heatran)

Heatran @ Shuca Berry
Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
Quiet Nature
- Heat Wave
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Protect

Shuca Heatran with Flash Cannon beats Fairies, Aegislash and Kyurem-B. Helps check opposing Tran. Works under TR with min speed. Idk what else to say you all know what Heatran does. I feel kinda bad suggesting something so boring with a 252/252 spread for Nollan's team but I just want to get the idea of Heatran out there. I don't think finalizing a spread for a mon like Tran is a good idea until we have a full team anyway.

Also you should totally put a link to the site where you get the animated sprites in the OP. EDIT cheers

Don't let we win by default either guys.

Talonflame @ Choice Band
Gale Winds
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Att / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-Turn
- Taunt

Basically, it beats Amoonguss which WAS the obligatory 3rd Pokemon for the opposing core(now it is probably Togekiss/Cresselia/Aegislash). CB BB doesn't care about Trick Room and has lots of power. Taunt is to slightly help against Cress, Toge and Aegi while serving as a way to stop the opponent from Protecting the next couple of turns as well.

TALONBIRD @ Life Orb
Gale Wings
Adamant
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
-Brave Bird
-Flare Blitz
-Protect
-Quick Guard

Talonflame has a lot of things going for it as far as being our third Pokemon. Amoonguss majorly dicks the first two members of our core, so we absolutely cannot run a third Pokemon that loses to it. Talonflame is great because not only does it beat Amoonguss outside TR, it even beats Amoonguss inside TR, and isnt majorly dicked by either Kyurem or Kanga. 176 Spe is enough to beat Thundurus-T, the fastest Pokemon that you can outspeed with Adamant which you will be Flare Blitzing instead of Brave Birding. Quick Guard is an interesting pick; I would have gone with WilloWisp as the fourth move but we already had WoWicent. Quick Guard allows us to shit on the kangaskhan pick's Fake Out, and, since the rest of our core is pretty weak to Talonflame, also serves as a precaution against that.

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spe
Jolly nature
- Return
- Close Combat
- Feint
- Protect

Mega Pinsir is just the right fit for the team so far. Not only does it counter possible threats, it also provides even more offensive coverage against our existing threats, something I think the other submissions so far have not done with as much efficiency. Mega Pinsir OHKOs Mega Kangaskhan with Close Combat after just a tiny bit of initial damage (WoW damage, possible Fake Out damage, or Conk's Mach Punch combo) Close Combat can also KO Kyurem-B after one Substitute, though the chance is a bit small. Mega Pinsir also has the bulk to always survive Mega Kangaskhan's neutral Return, and is never 2HKOd by neutral Sucker Punch. It runs enough Speed EVs to outpace 102 max+, but some EVs can be further shred off of Speed to just outpace Mega K when the threat of being outsped is no longer existent (e.g. later stages.)

In terms of checking possible threats, Mega Pinsir is not slouch, either. Return cleanly OHKOs any Amoonguss, no matter how much Defense investment it runs, completely countering it. It also outspeeds and checks almost all other Grass-types in the tier, clearing a solid path for Jellicent later on. Feint provides invaluable added priority, and also breaks opposing Protect and Wide Guard, which will be extremely essential for Jellicent if it wants to utilize Water Spout at its maximum efficiency.

Hyper Cutter guards against Intimidate, making Pinsir difficult to wall with just Intimidate. The only possible problem Pinsir could have is with Trick Room, but we don't necessarily (and it probably would not be a good idea to anyway) have to go full TR, and Pinsir is extremely useful for checking anti-TR Pokemon anyway (Protect stallers, slow Sporers, etc) Plus it does have moderately powerful priority so it's not completely left in the dust.

Forgot that it got Hyper Cutter lol, fixed.

To be perfectly honest though ability selection doesn't matter right now; if we don't get matched up vs Intimidate or Play Rough or any other form of stat based Attack control, Moxie would obviously be more useful.
