Hey all,

I'm new here! The last Pokemon game I played was Ruby and I recently got back into it with the 5th generation (funny how college does that).

I work part-time as a freelance artist, and thought you guys might like to see a few of my digital paintings. I'm open to private commissions (we can discuss payment/prices in PMs. I'm partial to some of those perfect IV Pokemon I see floating around the trade threads :nerd: ) and to any suggestions people have for me to draw!

And always, I am open to any constructive criticism. I'm a self-taught artist and its largely through the help of others that I've come this far. These drawings range from 2009-2011

Ohh. Very talented, it's always nice to see great artists coming to Smogon. You paint exceptionally well! I'm envious, haha.

What program are you using, if you don't mind my asking.

Keep up the excellent work, I shall be watching this thread carefully!

I use Photoshop CS4 and a Wacom Intuos4 Medium Tablet!

I really like your clean-cut art style! It's got a lot of personality :D
 
This is all excellent. It would be flawless, except I needed to find one so my mind wouldn't explode from the quality of these pieces. I managed to find a suggestion! It's not even a fully-fledged flaw, my mind is falling to pieces already.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the pieces that utilised contrast the most, such as this one. I find that in some of them the contrast is quite lacking, so the foreground tends to merge with the background. I think it would look even better if you made the contrast between the fore- and backgrounds heavier.

Oh and I fixed an image tag for you.

Thanks for the suggestion! Contrast is one of my weakest points so I'm glad you pointed that out. I have a tendency to over-saturate and over-focus the backgrounds so I'm working on that.
 
OH YES ZEKROM AND THAT ART PROJECT ARE AMAZING! I honestly don't know why you aren't more popular! I want to re-Disc you! Such good action poses and such intricate detail. *fanboys over art*

man DT every time you post its something really fabulous!

you are really great at shading from a fixed light source, that is no exception despite its unfinished-ness (i hope you finish it at some point)

still pretty much solid in my opinion that you are one of best newer artists here
