Favorite board game

I'm not too much of a fan of board games, but I do have two favorites: Settlers of Catan and Pandemic (I love how everybody goes into PANIC mode when there's an outbreak, super fun!). I play Risk casually but I haven't found anybody I can't beat. Also Blokus is fun when more people are over.

I honestly prefer card games like Dominion to those, though. ALSO I'm addicted to Magic: the Gathering which is really skill-based and challenging. (as long as we stay away from Urza's)

Monopoly sucks BTW. How to win: Buy everything you land on.

Bananagrams is awesome. No one ever wants to play with me, though, since I always win. Most of my friends are as good as me at Scrabble so it's more fair.

I'd also be interested in D&D over the internet.

Monopoly, Cattan and Risk are so luck based but so fun to play. I prefer card games though. Sure, there's still a lot of luck, but at least it ain't dice rolls.

Uh oh!

I've played D&D for a while now, and I've heard of ways to play over the internet although I don't know the details myself. I just received Gamma World for my birthday three days ago, I am so fucking stoked. I rolled up a character even though I'll probably be DMing most of the time; I'm a Rat swarm Hawkoid named Alfred Hitchcock @_@

Has anyone played any good space themed games? I've heard Race for the Galaxy is great and I really want to try Space Alert, but I'm hesitant to spend all that money with little assurance.

Axis and Allies (mostly global 1940). It's like Risk, only five times longer and twenty times more complex, with quite a bit more strategy (and less luck). If I don't have 12 hours, Risk, Monopoly, and Pandemic are boss.

WWE DVD Board Game.

Really enjoyable and interactive, the formula for this game is perfect. Custom rules (like draft picks) can really enhance the experience. Sure beats repetitive and aged games like Monotony. Didn't really care for the 2nd Edition though, and I haven't tried the 3rd.

I'm going to be trying the Resident Evil Deck Building Game sometime, if I like it I'll post about it here.

I personally like to play traditional games. I'm a big fan of chess, and I am really good at checkers. Monopoly is fun too, especially when I get to buy out all the property. :)
Also like Scrabble, its really fun to play, though I never get to play it against people who WANT to play.

I like Monopoly and Cluedo, but if I have friends around, I am more likely to grab a pack of cards and play a few games. Personally, I find card games great fun, and some take strategy to play. Others are just blind luck (Black Jack!!)

Anyone ever played Atmosfear? Fantastic game, though I haven't played it in years.

D&D Players - RPTools. google it, it makes the whole thing so much easier.

I also strongly recommend the Adventure Path "Scales of War".

For those of you who play D&D, what version do you play? We play version 3.5 when we get the chance to play. Also, who DM's?? You, or someone else?? Finallly, do you allow the "exotic" races in your campaigns (races other than the humans, elves, dwarves, etc).
