Gimmick Thread!

Sluggish gross

Metagross @Iron ball
Adamant
Hp/252 At/252

-Meteor mash
-Earthquake
-Hammer arm
-Explosion

This set looks speed in the eye and says, "Fuck you". Ideal for trickroom teams. Iron ball to hit a flyer who thinks he can wall you.
The iron ball lets you hit flyers with ground type moves.

No it doesn't, if anything it lets fliers hit you with Earthquake, plus most take neutral from Hammer arm except Gyara/Mence, Mence gets hit by Meteor Mash and you can Thunder Punch/Explosion Gyara.

EDIT: Beaten by Denryu...

Ev: Who cares
-Fling

Darkrai @Life Orb

Ev: 252 spd, 252 atk

Not really a gimmick as he has the stats to pull it off.

Garchomp @ choice specs
252 spa/252 speed/4 hp
Timid/modest
~fire blast
~draco meteor
~hp electric
~surf/dragon pulse
Garchomp, modest, choice specs, reaches 426 spa. I always find myself switching in skarmory or gliscor on garchomp.
Fire blast will always ohko max hp/no sp def, neutral skarmory.
Surf will ohko max hp/no sp def, neutral gliscor about 10% of the time, doing around 90%-105.
Draco meteor is for awesome all around damage, and hp electric always ohkos max speed and attack gyara, and ohkos bulky gyara most of the time.
Scary stuff

Now this is a fucking gimmick, people!

...A lot of these aren't gimmicks, they're just stupid.
Yeah, a lot of people don't understand what a gimmick is.

A gimmick is most of the time a weird set of moves that whipes things. Like lvl1 endeavor. Or a good rain dance team. A gimmick is not something that is extremely ineffective because the Pokemon is used in a non-normal way. That is pretty normal.

Shuppet @ Focus Sash
-Trick Room
-Destiny Bond
-Night Shade
-Knock Off

Trick room first turn, if you dont get hit, use Night Shade/Knock off

surprised no one said it:

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
- Endeavor
- Spore
- Extreme Speed
- filler

start with it. Spore while they attack and get you to one HP. Endeavor the switchin and then Endeavor again. If your opponent tries to out-predict you, you now have one of their pokemon asleep and 2 at 1 HP. You're screwed if they have a ghost or Tar/Hippo.

Raichu@Focus Sash
Timid, 252 Spd 252 SpA 6 HP
-Fake Out
-TBolt
-Focus Blast
-Filler: Nasty Plot/Grass Knot/Wish/Focus Punch (Blissey)/Whatever

A surprising starter that kills Focus sash Weavile (and at the very least disables any other starter's focus sash). Also handles some common starters like Tyranitar, Gyrados, Staraptor, Swampert, etc thanks to good type coverage. Someone posted this in a thread I made a while ago, I believe it was Sarunibii?

Also I agree that "lol let's take a physical sweeper and smack on some Choice Specs is not a gimmick, in most cases it's just plain stupid (some can pull it off; stuff like Electivire or Tyranitar I guess).

The only 100% Bulky Gyarados counter. Only works if both lead.

Gliscor @ Focus Sash
Adamant 252Att/252Speed
Ability: Hypercutter
-Stone Edge
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Roost

Basically the idea is that your opponent leads with Gyara or switches it in on Gliscor. They predict a switch and DD. Gliscor uses Swords Dance and Uses Stone Edge in the following turn. If the Gyara doesnt DD you will still OHKO because you should be faster.

Afterwards Roost to recover HP and use STAB'd EQ and Stone Edge to sweep the opposing team.

Clefable*Leftovers
Name: Cle-waller
Ability: Magic Guard
Cosmic Power/Amnesia
Softboiled/Wish
Counter
Seismic Toss/Shadow Ball
EV's: max HP and rest in def

Comments: Pure wall lol! Magic Guard prevents Toxic, Burn, Sandstorm and even stuff like spikes from hurting you. Beef up those defensive stats and Counter fighters. Sadly ghosts wall you so bad it's not even funny so Shadow Ball is an option.

Crobat*Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
Name: Curse-bat
Curse
Roost
Payback
Brave Bird
EV's: don't know

Comments: Crobat can curse so why not? You still can't hit Steel's but he never could anyway.

Ludicolo*Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
Name: Choice-colo
Hydro Pump
Energy Ball
Focus Bomb
Ice Beam
EV's: Max spc attk and speed

Comments: I can't think of any poke that resists all 4 attacks. With Rain in play, Ludicolo can do some real sweeping.

Bibarel

I've tried out the Bibarel before, I was pretty excited when I found out about his trait. Not quite so much when I learned that you can't go beyond 4x boost, but he is still pretty damn formidable with a Swords Dance and some speed passed to him. I used a Scizor to pass an Agility and Swords Dance, but Ninjask would probably work even better.

I've run some of the calculations, and he can OHKO almost any non-uber after a Swords Dance. There are some that can take one hit, like Metagross, Skarmory, and possibly Dusknoir, but some of those can be beaten with only a power-boosting item. Choice Band pretty much ensures that you will OHKO the first thing you hit.

Return and Waterfall are no-brainers (the 30% flinch from Waterfall would result in even a dead Skarm) and the only Poke that resists both is Empoleon. Dig might be useful for scaring off Metagross, unless he's already picked EQ of course. Superpower beats some Pokemon he might otherwise have trouble with (like Empoleon) at the cost of likely ruining your streak with the attack drop. Amnesia will triple his special D, so that is worth considering also.

Specs Dugtrio looks good on paper, Max SpA/Modest Hidden Power Ice does 91%-106% on Garchomp, guaranteed OHKO on Salamence, 2HKOs Tyranitar with Earth Power. This is assuming no defense evs though.

OMG, a variant of the F.E.A.R Rattata

Lvl 1. Phanphy @ Focus Sash
Endeavor
Ice Shard

This thing pwns, like Rattata

Absol
Item: Leftovers
1. Snatch
2. Magic Coat
3. Sucker Punch
4. Psycho Cut

The ultimate in cerebral warfare. I can't think of a single move that gets past Snatch, Magic Coat, and Sucker Punch combined. The trick is trying to figure out which type of move your opponent will use. Sucker Punch's 8 max PP hurts the strategy a little bit, but at least it really hurts off of that 130 base power and STAB.
