Good rap tracks?

I like the game =/
TI isn't teriibley bad.
I don't see how anyone who likes hip-hop cannot like Chamillionaire.
And ya, maybe Detox is just an urban legend lol but its said to be coming out this year so idk.

anyone who likes hip hop shouldnt like cham he fucking sucks = /

Living Dead?

Virtual Reality?

Am I winning the game yet? Are we naming oxymorons or was 'good rap tracks' already the winner?

Wu-Tang Clan (classic, new album in a few weeks)
MF Doom (I've got all his shit except special herbs, but I heard it)
Madvillian (Not a real fan but its still good, Rhinestone Cowboy=thumbs up)
Dangerdoom (Not like Doom's other stuff, still good)
King Geedorah (Fazers!!!!!!)
Viktor Vaughn (Venomous Villain and Vaudeville Villain are 2 of my favourite CDs)
Monsta Island Czars (if you can find it, be prepared for really good shit)
Aesop Rock (good but it starts to run together)
Method Man (Tical 2000 is a great CD)
Raekwon (Wu-Tang's finest)
Del the Funkee Homosapien (reminds me a lot of Doom, so great stuff)
UGK (Super Tight is a great CD)
TI (I'm becoming a big fan of his stuff, especially King and TI vs TIP)
Tech N9ne (I'm serious get his shit, Everready is a great album)
Lil Wayne (Becoming a bit too mainstream for me, I liked him back in the day, mixtapes aren't bad though)
Royce Da 5'9" (you mentioned him)
Beastie Boys (Paul's Boutique and Licensed to Ill are great)
Nas (obviously)
De La Soul (good shit)
Mos Def (I'm a fan of Black on Both Sides)
GZA (Liquid Swords!)
Basically anyone performing at Rock the Bells, they're all worthy of being on anyones playlist

I can keep naming and naming good rap as my iPod is full of it and its pretty much all I listen to, but I'll stop

(obviously Doom and his aliases lover here)

Anything by The Roots is pretty sweet.
I'm liking El-P at the moment as well.

Couple of 2pac tracks as well that aren't very well known (I think one if actually Nas that 2pac is on)

2pac - Starin' at the world through my rearview (great version of this where someone spliced in Phil Collins).
Nas - Thugz Mansion

Oh, is it my turn?

Anybody that has ever even thought of taking a ear-licking from any of Daniel Dumile's aliases needs to hear MM...Food and MM...Leftovers, only thing would make those two compact discs any better would be adding Fazers to the tracklist.

Nobody's mentioned Loop Troop, and those guys are pretty off the wall.

Dr. Octagon has NOT gotten enough mention, the guy's all the way off his rocker but the music is awesome nonetheless.

Nobody's mentioned Cunninglynguists either, and all I've heard from them was some pretty good shit.

Common's a god damn legend, listen to him.

I saw a few Atmosphere mentions, and I'm pretty pissed that I forgot about that guy, he's pretty good.

K-OS is one hell of a musician IMO, he's worth a few listens.

If I think of anyone else I'm forgettin about I'll edit this post.

Also anyone who mentions mainstream shit needs to get their ears off the radio, that shit is NOT good rap, and is mostly responsible for all the "I dont listen to rap b/c its all bitches and ho's" mentality that a lot of people seem to have.

And if you have that mentality why the fuck post in this thread?

That is all.

Wu-Tang Clan (classic, new album in a few weeks)
MF Doom (I've got all his sh-it except special herbs, but I heard it)
Madvillian (Not a real fan but its still good, Rhinestone Cowboy=thumbs up)
Dangerdoom (Not like Doom's other stuff, still good)
King Geedorah (Fazers!!!!!!)
Viktor Vaughn (Venomous Villain and Vaudeville Villain are 2 of my favourite CDs) (havent listened to MF's aliases much)
Monsta Island Czars (if you can find it, be prepared for really good sh-it)
Aesop Rock (good but it starts to run together)
Method Man (Tical 2000 is a great CD)
Raekwon (Wu-Tang's finest)
Del the Funkee Homosapien (reminds me a lot of Doom, so great stuff)
UGK (Super Tight is a great CD)
TI (I'm becoming a big fan of his stuff, especially King and TI vs TIP) (Does he actually have good lyrics? Cause he seems to mainstream to me, even if some of his beats are dope)
Tech N9ne (I'm serious get his sh-it, Everready is a great album) (Some of the fastest delivery of lines I've heard)
Lil Wayne (Becoming a bit too mainstream for me, I liked him back in the day, mixtapes aren't bad though) (Same as TI ABOVE)
Royce Da 5'9" (you mentioned him)
Beastie Boys (Paul's Boutique and Licensed to Ill are great)
Nas (obviously)
De La Soul (good sh-it)
Mos Def (I'm a fan of Black on Both Sides)
GZA (Liquid Swords!)
Basically anyone performing at Rock the Bells, they're all worthy of being on anyones playlist

I've bolded what I've listened to lots in the past, and I'll check out some of the names I haven't bolded. Also I'm bit dubious as to Lil Wayne's and TI's placing on the list. Sure there beats are good (cmon, who doesnt like them?), but when I've heard them, there lyrics seem to mainstream to me. Still, are there any songs by these particular artists which you would recommend?

And to Nekada, I've got Thugz Mansion (being the biggest Nas fan on the planet) but I don't have the other song you listed, so I'll check it out.

If you're selective about some of the songs you listen to by TI and Wayne you can get some really good lyrical pieces combined with the beats you can get some really good songs, thats why I said listen to the mixtapes, thats stuff they do for the fans and doesn't need to appeal to the mainstream. I mean its not as good as MF Doom, Wu-Tang members, or Del, but I can still find a way to like them, I mean we all have to like at least one mainstream artist right?

Chamillionaire's old freestyles when he was with SwishaHouse is the best.

He became Mediocre when he reached mainstream. Koopa shoulda stuck with the punchline but if you listen to his Mixtape Messiah 3, he says he grew out of it. I think he's lying. I think he can't think of anymore punchline and he got too comfortable when he reached mainstream. He needs to get back on track with punchlines.

Lil wayne and Kanye, Dipset, Cassidy is what I bang lol.

zerowing's suggestion to check out mixtapes got me thinking, and it turns out that i found an absolute gem in Ill At Will - Redman. I haven't listened to all the songs in detail, but check out I C Dead People. One of the most underrated MCs ever.

i realyl dont like little wayne. he gets way too corny im sorry but i can come up with better rhymes then ''i got more jewels then a jewler'' and from the songs i heard he just trys to use every similie he can. nas suffers from illmatic syndrome. which is basically he kept trying to outdo illmatic. his stuff after was good but it wasnt like amazing

da..drought...3?

also nas doesn't try to outdo illmatic. its just that everything else that comes out will never be as good. he even says after each of like his last 5 cds that he has moved on and wont even attempt it. p.s. ti is going to start blowing now that king has been out cause tivstip was shit compared to it.

Well, I know the #1 longest (old school) rap track in the world; sugarhill gang, rappers delight. Listen when I get really bored (for 15 mins).
