GameFreak has a team of people that work on the "battle system". They do care.

And yeah, reliable sources are CoroCoro, Pokemon Sunday and things controlled by the Pokemon Company (like the Japan Pokemon website). I trust Filb.de and Serebii too.
 
To be honest, I think that this will be the last one, or very close to it. If the Lati@s are in it that will confirm it for me. Why else do you get gratuitous legendaries?

A more serious problem is the fact that there are now almost 500 Pokemon in the game. GameFreak will not reasonably be able to publish new games without introducing new Pokemon, and with over 500 the game dynamic will be changed for the worse by virtue of extreme overcomplication and repetativeness. Most of the animals have also already been used as Pokemon. They can't leave any out either without a huge backlash and they will run out of remakes. Furthermore, the game mechanics are very complicated already, and any further complication, such as multiple ablilities or multiple attack types being suggested here, would make the game cumbersome and overcomplicated, to the point of being unpleasant. The legendaries are in an even worse mess: practically every abstract concept that could be usefully represented as a concept has been used at least once, and there is even a god Pokemon.

I have no doubt that they will be as sad to abandon this unspeakably successful franchise as we will be to move on from it, but unless they embrace a completely different genre and radically innovate the game, I do not think it can last much longer.

On a more positive note, I'm really looking forward to getting my perfect red Gyarados. I've always loved that beast.

Hoenn happens three years prior to HGSS. You need to fight Groudon in ruby and Kyogre in Sapphire, but for the game canon, you just defeated them, not caught. So, they just migrated. If you prefer, we could work with Emerald's story; both woke up, and then Rayquaza put both to rest again at their caves. But what if those caves have entrances to in Johto/Kanto? Then you'd only need the Blue/Red Orb again to have a little talk with the both of them.

Well, Regigigas's pokédex entry says he created the other three Regis. About the two Regigigas, I guess it's no use trying to understand that, as Tower Tycoon Palmer has a third Regigigas...

With that mechanic Wonder + Magic guard Shedinja would be awesome :3 pretty much like the upgrade wobby suffers from GSC to RSE

If you're talking about my "inner ability" idea, obviously you'd have to choose between one of the two. If Shedinja had Magic Guard as its inner ability, then it'd have to give up on Wonder Guard to have it.

And having two abilities at the same time would be like having 255 EVs on every stat. Too overpowering... Anyway, time to drop the matter.

Junichi Masuda: In Diamond and Pearl you have Dialga and Palkia. In Platinum you have Giratina. There are three legendary Pokemon and there's a relationship between the three. From there we have a story to move onto with other legendary Pokemon, but at this point that's all I can share.

As you can see, they are already scheming what will be next which obviously they won't reveal yet. And I guess you can't have new legendaries with no new generation.
 
Im pretty sure noting is in hoenn that says when it occured. For all we know its ten years from johto and the weather trio moved there.

Celio in FRLG saying its machine in One Island's PokéCenter was for long-distance trading. He didn't say anything about it being a time machine!

Also, the previous owner of that fancy little villa you get in Platinum was Steven Stone, so that places Hoenn slightly behind DPPt/HGSS as well, and I'm willing to bet it is three years behind those games in parallel with FRLG.

Um...

No, since the DSi doesn't run games any differently than the DS or DS lite. They're all basically the same thing. They may make concessions to the new system, like adding gratuitous legendaries or leaving out any Pal-Park-type systems, but it will run on your older system, definitely.

What about if, after fighting Ruby in RSE Steven decided to move Sinnoh for some vacations and finding rocks in the underground, and then return to Hoenn?

If there's no clear time periods (like RBY-GSC 3 years) I think we can't say anything

Woah I'm not sure about much of the time period things like RSE to GSC or GSC to DPPt or anything but I know for a fact that GSC is 3 years after RBY, the person at the Time Machine tells you and thats why when trading between RBY and GSC you use a Time Machine.

Oh I read that interview posted by Arael and Hideo Kojima plays Pokemon, cool stuff.
 
Note that a screenshot has shown you will be able to take photos (with the DSi) and put them on the bottom screen. I may try and hunt it down soon...
 
Why does this thread get derailed every single day? This thread is not here to speculate about whether Pokemon will gain two abilities, whether there will be an Ability tutor, or the timeline of Pokemon. It's also not about the Gay Adoption or anything else that doesn't pertain to the release of HG/SS in a few months.

Stop posting videos with fake info, who cares. Post confirmed info only please.

Some things you can/should be discussing include the competitive or Wi-Fi related implications of what's being released in the game (e.g. easily accessible Legendary Beasts). If you want to have a short discussion on what info has been recently released, fine, but don't let it evolve into some huge discussion about useless things like timelines.

Why on earth are people still talking about gay adoption? just wondering. So does anyone think lugia and ho-oh will have there movesets changed I mean lv 85 for their signiture moves?? Seriously make each poke learn 8-15 moves and end it at around lv 75 not into the 80s and 90s.
 
will we be able to trade these Ho-oh and Lugia with new ability across to DPP assuming that the ability is completely new and not already existing

So we should be speculating about useless things like putting a picture of yourself on the bottom screen, rather than speculating about things that aren't already known(like the GSC beasts being easily obtainable, we already know Suicune is stationary). I understand that this thread is getting off topic, and you are here to keep it on track, but please don't suggest some photoshopped tween on the bottom of a DSi screen is more worthy than a discussion about things like the Lati twins or Mewtwo.

Err, no. I believe what Jimbo meant was that this thread should really avoid speculation over what may or may not be in the game (whether it be over whether Hoenn or the Sevii Islands being in, or whether or not the game will actually have such a photo-fucnton), as that will just end up going in circles and get us nowhere, and thus be nothing more than a free +1 post count. What this thread should be used for, is discussion of what we do known to be in it (which is why he looked favorably on that post: it was pointing out a supposedly confirmed feature of the game, and not just speculating, though the picture ended up turning out to be fake, which Jimbo didn't know), avoiding the speculating or at least trying to keep it to a minimum. At leat that's what I got from his post.
