blah blah hurp a derp a derp

Get over yourself. It's not your job to tell people that their opinions and assumptions are correct or incorrect.

It is not a stretch of the imagination that 1 step could equal 1 experience point, ESPECIALLY when that's how the Daycare in-game handles it as well. It's an established system. Not to mention, that's NOT that much experience at all in the grand scheme of things, so it's hardly broken. In fact I'd be so bold as to claim that anything less than 1 Exp per step would be ultimately useless.

Indeed they are. Thing is, it's to how they look in 4th gen, so things like Pikacuh who were fat since the 1st and 2nd gen series is reverted to its 4th gen shape, and just takes whatever pose it has in 2nd gen.

In the second gen though Gold and Silver had different sprites.

So.. do the new sprites reflect the new Sugomori art?

Even 1exp per step is pretty useless. Say you walk a mile and that 2 steps = a yard... that's only 3560 exp. You can get twice that in a minute by exp sharing while fighting a gym leader in the battleground or something.

Though it does say somewhere that it increases Happiness, too. That could actually make it pretty useful for evolving stuff and powering up returns.

There is actually a use for them... Kinda :P

If you get tons of those pedometers (buy loads of games, get them off friends, or get them used), you can upload dozens of Pokémon at once, and level them all at the same time. If you had 20, you'd get 71200 Exp. per mile in total, which is pretty good :D You'd have to carry them all in a bag or something, though.

While it may seem useless, the additional experience is entirely welcomed, especially since I don't play my DS all day, I like to get out :)

Yeah i am planning to get more than one and do this as well

Hmm I think I'll paint my pedometer black in order to hide the fact that it is a Pokeball. After all, my running shorts don't have pockets.

OMG somebody on youtube is saying that in soul silver you can go to Kanto and in heart gold you can go to Hoen!!!! Hm I'm suspicious, anybody else hear this... <_<

That would be false.

I've been hearing about "Pokemon Races" though, apparently it was in a trailer promoting HG/SS in the Arceus movie. No video proof is available (since it was a special premiere event for a movie), so maybe CoroCoro will shed some light in the next week or so. Assuming we can actually ride Pokemon, that is.

Pokemon Heart Gold is a remake of Pokemon Gold, a game which first came out in 2,000. It includes revamped graphics, various new Pokemon, and new forms of previously existing Pokemon. The game also offers a special challenge after the main story is completed, in which the main character travels to the Hoenn region to catch one of two titans that fought 3 years earlier. New characters include Lunah, the Dark type gym leader of Hoenn, and Sakura, the gardening enthusiast. Supports wi-fi connection and comes with a pedometer.

brb going to kill myself

EDIT: Errm, what the hell. That's Heart Gold's description, but Soul Silver has nothing of this madness. Thank God, that was just messy work/hackers on steroids.

Looks like SS is going to be ass.

Hypothesis
(just an opinion) on Legandaries Obtainable: Raikou,Suicune,Entei,Ho-Oh,Kyogre/Groudon, Raquaza.Giritina/Palkia/Dialga,Arceus
Hoenn legends w) being able to travel to Hoenn

SS Description:

Pokémon Soul Silver along with Heart Gold are remakes of the original Pokémon Gold and Silver set in the Johto region. Prepare to explore the Johto region once again and later travel to Kanto. Also trade with Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum versions regardless of which language version you have to complete your Pokédex.

Legenaries Obtainable(think) Raikou,Suicune,Entei,Lugia,Moltres,Zapdos,Articuno,Giritina/Palkia/Dialga,Arceus,Mewto. (kanto legends w/being able to travel to Kanto)

Check out this link! Shiny Gyrados Confirmed!

I also think there'll be a Crystal remake. Nintendo really has no other options but 5th generation. Crystal Remake>5th Generation.

^That HG description is fake: it's from PlayAsia, where anyone could add a description:
http://i44.tinypic.com/x4g42a.jpg

There's nothing to back it up anyone, and it just is pure silliness. I wouldn't put any faith in it at all.

And no, a Crystal remake is practically guaranteed not to happen. They never remade Yellow, so I don't see them remaking Crystal. Plus, the 4th generation has already been pulled out a bit long compared to the other generations, so I can't see them keeping the 5th gen withheld for too much longer after HG/SS's release.

PlayAsia is not a reliable source. Official merch (movies, keychains, etc), CoroCoro and Pokemon Sunday are.

Seriously, use common sense. WHAT would Hoenn be doing in HG? Johto/Kanto are practically one big region. Hoenn is a tropical region far from Johto. Big differences between games (especially a difference the size of a region) have never happen in Pokemon game duos before. I also seriously doubt they would remake Hoenn so quickly. What'll be left to remake after the fifth gen? They certainly aren't going to remake Sinnoh that quickly.

Not to mention CoroCoro is the only source likely to reveal news this big.

Um, no. It's not like they have staff constantly browsing every page, making sure that every summary is correct. Some stuff will get through, especially since the staff that ends up looking over the page might not even know what the latest facts are, what's actually been confirmed, or possibly even the first thing about Pokemon. Thus, the fact that it's still there doesn't add any more credibility to it, especially since PlayAsia doesn't have any way to flag inaccurate descriptions, or at least none that I'm seeing.

The fact is, that there's nothing confirming that anywhere, it doesn't make any sense (why would a remake of Gold feature the Hoenn region when it wasn't in the original, while the Kanto region, which was in it, gets the boot? And even so, why wouldn't Hoenn be in Soul Silver too), and PlayAsia has no reason to be getting exclusive info on this. Combining this with the fact that the summaries are user-submitted gives the tidbit there no credibility.

If something actually comes out to confirm that, then so be it. But until then, I wouldn't even give it a grain of salt's woth of credibility.

I would love to see them use the DSi's download capabilities to add the Hoenn region to HG/SS using Nintendo points. This probably won't happen, but it would be cool imo.

That would be major overload. I already think that it is too much not like a remake with the Hoenn legends in the game.

Also, will the Platinum alternate forms be compatible with HG/SS?

ew. i dont like hoenn. besides, it would probley be barren.

Ehh, heard of capitalism? It doesn't matter about personal preference, just if they would make money. And I am sorry to tell you this, but they WOULD make money off it, not everyone is like you(most aren't, actually).
