Hahaha... speaking about leveling here I remember when I first got my Gold and didn't know how to get away from the very first grasses...
So I though the only way was to level up enough. And so I grinded... and grinded...
all the way until I reached lvl 36 and my Croconaw evolved into Feraligatr on those poor lvl 2-4 sentrets.
But that's where I once more tried and suddenly got my way to Cherrygrove City. :D

Now that's a dedicated trainer.

And Croconaw evolves at level 30, btw.

lol i did exacterly the same thing (but with cyndaquil), luckily my friend told me there is more to the game, showing me the next city. It was kind of odd, as the only "challenge" was knowing where to go.

lol Victanda, that's great. Only reason I didn't do that is because I had played Blue and Yellow... Blue I had Charmeleon at level 34 by Brock but by Silver I had it figured out thankfully, I know how you feel.

skarmory evolve form would be sick
lol no. Skarmory definitely doesn't need an evolution.

(And luckily, since these are remakes and not actual new additions to the series, we won't be seeing any new Pokemon in it, so there won't be any such evolution... at least not yet.)

Haha that's amazing. I remember when I first played Gold (it was my first Pokemon game), I didn't realize how to get out from Violet City to get down to Azalea, because I always used to play at night after school and you couldn't see too well when it was night in-game. I ended up getting horribly overlevelled on the early grass patches (not quite as early as yours, mind, I'm still laughing at that :P) and ended up sweeping through the rest of the early part of the game once I found my way out of Violet.

Yeah, I remember that. Those crappy GBCs. Unless you had one of those funny worm light things. Haha.

Well you can play the old Gameboy Color games on a GBA right? I hated those damn lights too. Can't wait to finally have an easier way to get Lugia or Ho-Oh, I'm probably going to buy both.

Gold was my first Pokémon game as well. :)

Oh sorry. Couldn't remember right since it has been like 7 years when I last time saw Croconaw evolving.

Well I'm kinda happy I get to know after about 9 years that someone else has done so too. :D Same goes with Arael.

One move that could be tutorable is Submission. While its pretty shitty, it is an 80 BP fighting move, that could be given to something that needs the fighting type coverage. Not to mention only three Pokemon learn it.

It was even a TM move back in RB.

Now I'm not sure what could get it that could really use it, but its just another viable tutor move to think about.
There are actually a few other TMs in RB that don't have tutors, though their usefulness is up to debate:
Bubblebeam, Tri Attack, Body Slam (for some of the D/P Pokes that couldn't get it) Dragon Rage, and uh, that's all I see.

Not too many good move tutors that we don't already have, but we could reuse some so they're easier to get and for some legality issues and whatnot.

None of you have matched me at this game before. Though this was done in Blue, not G/S, I leveled my Nidoking to Level 84 in Celadon City thinking that Giovanni has a Lv. 70 Mewtwo in the Rocket Game Corner Hideout. What's funny is that there ended up a Lv.70 Mewtwo later in the game. No freaking lie.

Hmm, Flash Fire Ho-oh..
Out of all the abilities to choose from you didn't mention the only ability to save him from Stealth Rock? Shame on you!
But yeah Pokemon Sunday confirmed Lugia/Ho-oh's ability to be Pressure, so I doubt it Flash Fire Ho-oh will ever happen

I vouch for Rotom DS forme.

Speaking of formes if Giratina-O does not return to HGSS I'll be extremely sad.

That would have taken a very long time and the game would have been rather easy from there on I guess. :)

Okay, you win Jibaku. What an amazing thing to do though, dedication for sure.

I'd like to see Fury Cutter back just for the pure fun of it really.

I sure hope they don't try to add coordinator crap to this game. Imo, that is the gayest thing they've done to the series. (they'll probably kill it more eventually though...)

Why would you expect Giratina in Johto? Sure, it is technically native to all regions, however they will likely stick to the exact same formula that made GSC the best pokemon games ever-Kanto and Johto pokes only. Once you get the national dex you will probably be able to evolve Murkrow into Honchkrow, Misdreavus into Mismagius, etc. however I don't see anything gamebreaking beyond that.

If you were being sarcastic then I apologize for wasting our time.

I think level 70 Mewtwo could have taken out a lv. 84 Nidoking anyway, especially since Megahorn wasn't available (nor was EQ at that point in the game).

I hope we actually get to go into the daycare and talk to our Pokémon again.

In FR/LG you could trade hoenn pokemon over from R/S/E so it is possible that in HG/SS that you could trade over Giratina-0 and the like to these games Although they may make it go back to the normal form thinking about it.

I wasn't expecting Giratina in Johto. But based on the fact that Griseous Orb can not be traded, I wonder if Giratina-O will still exist in HGSS.

I want to see Regigigas get Protect in this game. I know its a minor detail about something that has no bearings to anything Johto, but still, I'd like it. Wobbufett should get Protect too (lol). Seriously though, I can't wait to catch me some legendary gerbils with decent IVs.

How do you turn shaymin sky forme again? DO think that will be in the game?
You have to take an event Shaymin to a lady in Floramora Town, who will give you the item Graceidia Flower, which you use to turn Shaymin into Sky Forme. I'm not sure if it will appear or not, but I'm leaning towards probably not.
