Illegal combinations

I just read on the D/P analysis forum that having Fire Punch on a Pokemon that has the Scrappy ability is illegal and I had no clue. I was just wondering what else is illegal to do in D/P so I can avoid it
 
Basically, anything with an ability that is new to D/P and a 3rd gen move tutor move, or D/P-only egg moves with move tutor moves.

Also event pokemon with egg moves (Volt Tackle and Surf Pikachu, Wish and Aromatherpay Blissey)
 
It's illegal because there's no way you can get that combination of moves without hacking. It's really hard not to avoid.

unless he plans to hack or use a cheating device.

I'm not saying that's what you (TC) plan to do, though.
 
In addition to new moves/abilities+old tutors, there are also a number of illegal egg move combinations, because it's impossible for any father to have both of those moves to pass to the child.

Really, it's nothing to worry yourself over.
 
I was wondering- in an RMT thread, someone posted that Seismic Toss on Blissey is now illegal. I'm assuming they were talking out of their ass, but since you can no longer get ST on Bliss in-game, it seems plausible.

You can still get it from 3rd gen tutors, so I doubt it'll be illegal.
 
Nasty Plot and Tri-Attack on Togekiss is illegal unfortunatly. Although, Softboiled+Tri-Attack isn't which is nice, it let me save my Roost TM.
 
Aqua Jet + Belly Drum Azumarill. That thing would be such a beast >_>;

And yeah... hard to NOT avoid illegal combinations unless you're just hacking the moves on.
 
DP-exclusive abilities + Advance-exclusive moves are illegal, but ONLY if the Pokemon can only get the ADV move at its highest stage. Kangaskhan can only be transferred with Early Bird, so only DP Kangaskhan can have Scrappy. However, if it's in DP, it can't have Fire Punch, which is only via Emerald tutor.
Advance tutor moves + DP-exclusive egg moves are also illegal, like Azumarill.

Can't you trade back a DP Kangaskhan w/Scrappy to Emerald, teach it the move and trade it back? Or does the ability remain same once changed?
