Since the days when Luna Jynx was first used, it has gotten a new move to play with: Nasty Plot. Jynx is not bulky enough to take hits, even with a Calm Mind or two, so a more offensive set involving Nasty Plot is probably the way to go. After a single Nasty Plot boost, Jynx's attack reaches a soaring 658 easily threatening much of UU. Add that to Jynx's high speed and ability to put its first switch in to sleep with Lovely Kiss, and you have one hell of a sweeper.
 
I'm not a QC member or anyone important, but how is this any different than the Luna set posted in the Analysis, aside from Life Orb and Nasty Plot? i.e. why would it deserve its own set rather than just slashes to the what is currently listed?
 
Maybe we can just use this as an edit to the old set/replacement... Jynx functions better with NP than CM cuz CM is more for pokemon that can actually take hits after CMing.

i like this set by the way but i can't pass judgement on it or anything. nasty plot might be able to be slashed in with the current luna set, or just revamp the set entirely so it plays with nasty plot as the main move...
 
......no. I hate facing this set more than I hate anything else in Pokemon. Obviously I need to approve it...but really. Also the set should be titled something different. Probably Nasty Plot + Substitute. On that condition, I approve it.

Also, do you actually want to write the analysis, or do you just want the set to be approved?
 
Alright, most of these stamps mainly overlooked the fact that this Jynx's item is Life Orb when the popular set has Leftovers. This change should be made before you start writing up the analysis.

I know this isn't related, but why is it called "Luna"? According to the post, it is named after Luna Lovegood, a Ravenclaw girl in Harry Potter, who made her debut on the 5th book, the Order of the Phoenix. Why is it named after her?
 
The original Jynx set was popularized by the former Smogon administrator skarm, who is a rabid Harry Potter fan, Ravenclaw, and Luna Lovegood fanboy. It also fits because Jynx is goofy and has blonde hair... like Luna.
 
Yeah, if this guy isn't planning on writing this up and changing the crappy item choice and everything, I'll take over and do this set myself because...you know. Has someone attempted to message him or anything?

Why don't you write it up Flare? You are THE Jynx user. You know more about that pokemon in UU than all of us combined. I know it's harsh of me to say this, especially towards the OP but I think Flareblitz would make a better write up.
 
really? I always assumed "luna" had something to do with the moon. Or that anyone crazy enough to use jynx was loony.
I would make sure psychic is in the set comments: you are completely walled by darks, but gain the ability to hit waters (milotic walls this to hell and back) and fire types.

+6 Ice Beams will 2HKO Milotic (and this set gets +6 very often), and Ice Beam doesn't have an immunity. This set needs a reliable attack.
 
Nevermeltice might be a better item since its almost the same boost, and it doesn't hurt Jynx, allowing her to get up more Subs. Also make Jynx have 248 SpA and 8 HP, it gives her 273 HP, allowing for 4 Subs and 1 HP remaining, which also means 4 switches into Stealth Rock, instead of 3 and surviving.
 
Okay, since this still hasn't been updated and there are lots of changes that need to be made to the OP for it to actually be good, I'm going to take over this. I'll be posting a new skeleton in QC soon, so look for that. I'm also going to revamp the current Calm Mind set on site; I've been messing around with a defensive CM set that can set up on the increasingly popular non-haze milotic and specially-based venusaur. It can even survive physical attacks! So look for that too.
 
flareblitz has a much higher quality update of the same set which has already been approved by quality control; meanwhile, the OP doesn't seem like he's going to pay close attention to his version as evidenced by the lack of updates. moving to outdated analyses forum.
