(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

I suppose that could be an explanation... but then what about others you can't get below Level 50 like the Legendary Birds? I don't think there were any Level <50 legendary birds in Gen 3 and 4. Unless I missed a weird event...
Though there was an event that specifically gave you a Level 50 Dragonite just so you could use it in competitive.
Yeah, I think that would be an oversight then. Since they're only found at level 50 in FR/LG and XD.

I'm pretty sure it's a singles tournament, like every Classic so far and Weavile isn't going to do much if either Lati is scarfed.
Besides your moveset format is all wrong. Let me correct it for you:

Latios @ Soul Dew
- Draco Meteor
- Draco Meteor
- Draco Meteor
- I Really Only Need Draco Meteor But I Guess I Want Coverage For Some Unknown Reason

Is going to be singles?

This is going to be even more fun than I thought!!

Edit: Just checked, is going to be doubles... shame...

Changing subject:

I'm soft-reseting for an HP Ice Raikou. It would have been cool if they used the HG/SS variation that was composed just for Raikou (and of course, for the others), rather than just using the old Crystal version. Actually, the old Crystal version should have only been used for Suicune. This was a missed opportunity IMO.

Agreed. The old GBC theme is good, but it sort of drags on after a while...
Well, I'd better contribute something to the discussion. This has probably already been said before somewhere in this thread, but I'm not going to sift through 100+ pages:
I don't really like the idea of infinite TMs. I mean, they're good for the competitive scene, but having them in-game just ruins the fun.
Just look at good old Raichu. What his main gimmick? Electricity. What's the first move you think of when you think of Raichu? Thunderbolt, of course. The classic high-power reliable Electric move that's been around since Red and Blue. Now what if 200 Pokemon could learn Thunderbolt through TM? That's okay, but if you taught every member of your team Thunderbolt, poor Raichu would lose its niche.
That's why I think infinite TMs should only be unlocked after you beat the Elite Four, because they're reeeallly nice competitively.

And speaking of competitive, PRIORITY MOVES. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OF THEM??? The Speed stat and Trick Room strats have declined in importance because there are SO MANY PRIORITY MOVES AND ABILITIES! Talonflame and Kangaskhan have singlehandedly caused me to have a hiatus on competitive battling.

That one ability revealed in this morning's SM video on Serebii will be a godsend. It prevents priority moves from working!
Bye bye Talonflame! Bye bye Kangaskhan! Go in the trash bin where you belong!

WoW Talonflame in singles still has something to do on the switch in.

If you think the fish stops bulky Talonflame on singles you are off to a world of pain.

Yeah... I know...
If you can't tell already, Talonflame is not one of my favorites.
However, from what I've seen on PS and in-game, the ratio of copy-paste Choice Banded Brave Bird-spamming Talonflames to more creative bulkier ones is very high, so maybe it might have some use in the early days of SM, as priority moves are running rampant as of right now.

Talonflame is my get go check vs fairies and bulky steel in singles for the bigger part, it's ability to resist uturn, gain the advantage vs knock off as losing flying plate isn't a big deal, forcing mons out of fear of brave bird and punishing the u turn resists with WoW is one of the biggest pleasures of life, setting up on fairy stab users and use priority on weakened targets is just gold.

The added bonus of speed creeping base 95 mons without losing 3hko targets from the special side is just made for me.

The advent of offensive heatran is also a godsend for offensive SD Talonflame as it is able to ohko after minimal previous damage at +2 with flying plate.

Why the fuck is Eevee, with like 7/8 Eeevolutions being feminine, only have a 12.5% chance to be a female? Why the hell is Sylveon even allowed to be male? Same thing with Chikorita? Really?

All starters are like that... Don't know why the hell GF made it that way, because all it does is make Hidden Abilities a pain to pass down.

I know, it's just so stupid... Feminine Pokemon should be female and vice versa. Seems like they only make masculine Pokemon have higher chance to be male and feminine ones are usually just 50/50.

idk i haven't seen a CB talonflame since like 2013 lol. Bulky wisp talon is definitely the more common one. Regardless, they usually carry bravebird/acrobatics as their sole attacking move so Bruxish should wall its ass, even though it's gonna take a wisp to the mouth.

That seems a very limited viewpoint. And I can use history to show why it is silly.
For starters, pink was once considered the masculine color and blue the feminine. Secondly, here's a picture of FDR as a kid:
pink-and-blue-Franklin-Roosevelt-2.jpg

Yeah, seems silly, doesn't it?
Finally, I have a male Sylveon and he's cool, yo.

As Youngster Joey44 said, it's because in Gen I & II it was a Pokemon you could only get one of. When they introduced breeding in Gen II they wanted to keep the Starters and other rare Pokemon somewhat exclusive so decided to make a majority of them male so you aren't likely to get a female and able to easily breed more. They wanted you to bond with the one-of-a-kind Pokemon you're given and not try breeding for a better one as soon as you got the chance. But why have them be able to be female in the first place then? I can only guess its because maybe they wanted them to be able to get Egg Moves.

Nowadays though maybe they should make the Starters 1:1 and Eevees maybe be 1:3 on the female side since they're no longer "one-of-a-kind" and if you got one Eevee you probably want the whole Eeveelution set.

Lol, baby president does look silly. I see your point, but it still really bothers me.

I never thought of that before, and if they were going that route it wouldn't surprise me too much if they stayed genderless or something. Still seems like an odd decision to me.

I really wish the ability capsule wasn't so ridiculously hard to get. It's honestly something really basic to fix an annoyance and I always find it hard to justify using; it'd take so long to get a new one, so should I use this? What if it's wasting a chance later?
If it were like, 48BP it'd be fine, but 200 is a bit too high of a cost.

Agreed. Upwards to like sixty. I know they would never do this, but I'd love it if it could access a hidden ability.
