Nobody is interested in a shiny ditto for battling with it... ;)

I´ve tried my theory and it never broke for me!!!
It was sth. like 100encounters so far... recharging till that formation
appears is a pain... =/
 
Never mind, now chaining has become easy for me:) I now know which patches to enter and which ones to avoid, anyway, I've recently gotten a shiny Mareep after a chain of 53. Unfortunately, that was the only one I've gotten out of that chain, it took forever to appear:( Currently chaining Surskit, my swarm, on a chain of 33:)

Corsola swarmed today in my original Pearl, so I decided to chain it. And, of course, shove one in a Dive Ball. Problem I didn't realize was its irritating Aqua Ring while I tried to catch it. Caught 6, best were:
M Modest #222 Corsola (NC): 26 - 27 / 20 - 23 / 22 - 23 / 22 - 23 / 6 - 7 / 10 - 11
F Impish #222 Corsola (NC): 26 - 27 / 22 - 23 / 31 / 10 - 11 / 14 - 15 / 4 - 5

Oh, and the quote above was selected because shiny Corsola is shiny, and knows Mirror Coat. Woo.
 
Glad to hear it, Tuskate! Welcome aboard! I'd recommend Starly, Chatot, or Shinx maybe, since they're pretty easy, although kinda bland. Once you read the guide you might be able to make that decision a little easier. It also depends on your swarm, since those are typically pretty easy as well. You'll also find out in the guide how to change your swarm if you didn't know already, so you could get something cool and easy that way.
 
After at least three hours of resetting the Radar, my game ended up freezing. -_- At first, I was rather disappointed. I only got three shiny Krabby, at that was two hour prior to my three hours of fruitless Radar Resetting.

Then I saw the IVs of the lone Jolly shiny Krabby (the other two were Bold and Relaxed) that I captured.

Krabby - #98 (Jolly)
HP: 3
Att: 29
Def: 28
SpA: 13
SpD: 27
Speed: 27

Now I'm chaining Drowzee. Are there any tips for chaining in the rain? I could really use them.
 
I got some new Shiny Skitty but they aren´t very good :(

Agh my second night chaining is still not going well. I always tend to get around 10 then I get to comfortable and break my chain by falling into one of those patterns that looks good, but totally sucks.

Anything thats an electric type or metal type. Be sure to have a poke with magnet pull or static. That will increase your chances. Or just look for any pokes that are swarming. Those are just beginner pokes to practice on. I used to do this but got really tired of it after awhile. Once Platinum comes out I think I will get back into it. GL ;)
 
So I finally got to 40 on a starly and after like 25 super repels and who knows how many soft resets I still didn't find a shiny. Then I fell asleep and when I woke up I was about to reset the radar when I accidentally stepped in a bad square. I'm a bit demoralized, but I feel like I have a good grasp on the pre-forty.

Hi Diesel and people.

Haven't been playing much lately. I've got heaps of schoolwork and stuff.

Anyway, I reeled out the old DS tonight and went Lickitung hunt'n. I've got 3 shinys so far. I've left my DS on hold. I'm going to bed. It's 1:30 in the morning over here.

Before I drift off, is anyone here interested in Lickitung? I've got WIFI now, so I can go ahead and trade the shinys that I got wwwaaaayyy back, but if anyone wants a lickitung, I'd be happy to reserve them one.

Keep in mind, I'll be wanting other shinys (doesn't matter what as long as I don't have it already) or event pokemon (for pokedex completion purposes).
 
DrEnzyme - Well, look who's back! It's been a while, eh? I can't find all your old posts in this thread for some reason, but oh well. You should check all your IV's and such, then post the best ones and have people PM you if they want one of your pokes.

It has been a while, hasn't it diesel? Well, at least you know that I haven't died or anything (although that incident with carbonite a while back left something to be desired)

I haven't caught any shinys since the last time we talked, apart from a shiny gloom in Emerald that I caught with my last pokeball... In the safari zone (truly an epic achievement). I'm going to clone that one. All my D/P shinys will remained un-cloned and unique.

Xyra - Sweet. I'm still chaining these guys. I'm on 3 at the moment. Haven't got a clue what the natures or IVs are but with Likitung, you can get away with heaps (speed decreasing <- the best IMO, SPAtk decreasing and ATK decreasing are all viable options on this beast). I also have 40 non-shiny lickys that I'm going to calculate once this chain is over (yes, I caught them all).
QQ - What can you offer me for said Licktung?

EDIT: Why don't we have a shiny hunter's badge? It seems that since there are other badges for people like the researchers, that it's only fair we get one too.

DOUBLE EDIT: Couldn't find any more shiny Lickitung this morning. I think it has something to do with Licky being a swarm pokemon. Anyway, this is the best of the three:

Pros:
It's incredibly low speed will make it an excellent candidate for a Gyro Ball, while it's perfect defence and decent SP defence will make it a good wall.
Cons:
It's a shame about the HP and SPAtk IVs...
Overall:
I think I might have to use this as a mixed attacker/wall. Give her surf and Gyro Ball and use her in double battles along side Water Absorb pokemon with swagger. The idea being that the other pokemon can Swagger up Licky without invoking confusion and licky can heal the other pokemon while damaging the enemy. I like this gal a lot and probably won't part with her unless I'm offered something VERY nice.

Erm.. The other two lickys I caught were another Quiet (though not as good) and a hasty with decent IVs. Both have the Own Tempo ability.
 
After wasting 2 hours on hatching ekans without getting a single adamant double flawless one I decided to give chaining a chance.. I haven't got something good really, but here's what I got:
