I'm not sure what you guys discussed or if he misunderstood/changed his mind, so I'll let you work that out with him.

That's exactly the issue - your replacing a very viable and different option with one that's a subset of another. If your worried a submission that ISN'T corresponding is gonna win then your kidding yourself - just look at the wormadams, all of which had mirrored stat boosts.

I suppose you could add yet another option, as things such as abilities may not stay the same, but that's getting a bit nitpicky. I'm neither for or against that.

EDIT: tl;dr the current option 2 is something some people want to happen, so you can't just say lolnope and make it not an option.

Or we could you know, sort this all out and have an actual vote to see what people want.
 
Okay, here's the options as originally intended:

1. Only Rotom's base form gets a Mega Evolution
2. Rotom's base form gets its own Mega Evolution. In addition, the Rotom Forms will receive a single Mega Evolution but will retain their original typing and movepool upon Mega Evolving, i.e., each Rotom Form will receive its own individual Mega Evolution but must share a single ability and stat distribution as it is with the unevolved Forms.
3. Base Rotom gets a standalone Mega Evolution. In addition, every Rotom Form will be treated as individual pokemon and receive their own unique Mega Evolutions.

I thought I made this clear your option two is ridiculously overcomplicated in an attempt to assure similar Megas, we have a hard enough time trying to get people to submit even the right mon. Option 4 (newly added) allows for Mega groups but does not force confusing rules upon the submitters. I did not base these proposals off your PM option 2 is not your option 2. So stop please.
