A level 5 Mew will be given out for HGSS from 11/11 to 11/23 and for DPPt from 01/29 to 02/11, over Nintendo Zones in Japan and Wi-Fi, while the Enigma Crystal (item needed to get the other Lati in your HGSS) will be from 11/27 to 01/11. The only problem is that it's only for Japanese cartridges :( But I guess a lot of people here have the game somehow (roms...), so it's not going to be a problem, right?
 
this will be cool,I really want to catch a latios in my HG :(.I have also longed for a mew event.So im looking forward to this.
 
I presume the Mew distribution for DPP will also only be for Japanese cartridges right now, correct?

Either way, this is great, as it will probably come to America. Now all we need is a Celebi and Deoxys event, and then most of us will have access to all of the Pokemon!
 
We've actually already had a Deoxys event so we're just waiting on Celebi right now. I also think I heard that Celebi will be given away at the next movie.
 
^No doubt, considering the next movie focuses on Ho-oh and Lugia, as well as the fact that the Giovanni tidbit requires a "fateful encounter" Celebi.

Glad that a Mew is being distributed, though I can't say I didn't see it coming with the inclusion of Mew in the Johto dex.

Was this on 4th gen or 3rd? I know there was one for 3rd, but I never heard of Deoxys for 4th. If yes, then good, and Celebi seems to be fairly obvious given that Giovanni subquest.

Yeah, Deoxys was distributed at Gamestop, in a 4th-gen-only Cherish Ball. I have one.
 
Awesome, now I dont need SS to get a latios!
And finally my own mew too when the game comes out in the US. Hopefully the event comes over here.
 
By Japanese only carts do you mean only Japanese, period, or that only Japanese HGSS carts can get the Enigma crystal, and all versions of DPPt can get Mew? Because I have US Pearl and Platinum, and I want to RNG a Mew :).

It most likely applies to Japanes HGSS and Japanese DPPt only. The announcement came from the Japanese website, so events listed there generally apply only to Japanese games.

Not to worry, there'll be plenty of RNG'd Mews floating around the WiFi forums.

It's like saying we didn't need a Mew event because we have My Pokémon Ranch.

And what I'd noticed is that there is a four-month gap between NZ Jirachi and NZ Mew, and considering the 13th movie might get released on July. Considering the (local) Celebi event will possibly start in June, then there's a eight-month gap, which could become two gaps of four months if we had another event in February... Hmm. Would they really do what I have in mind? I mean, they're all event legendaries not from this Generation...

I really wish I got SoulSilver instead, so I could SR for Latias, rather than the useless Latios :/

I have a Japanese HG cart, so I should be able to get the Enigma Crystal, even though I live in America, right?

Yeah, you can.

Latios is still usable in VGC if you ever decide to play it, but he's not as strong without Soul Dew.

If this happens in the US, I'm not entirely sure I'm going to bother getting the Enigma Crystal, but that depends on the version I buy. If I limit myself to 1, I don't need another Latios, but a Latias will always be useful.
 
This is awesome, but one question, is this a special move, or just an improved version of psychic?

Might be a different animation for Psychic, but I don't recall ever seeing it in either game. I might have seen it when I battled Will & Sabrina, but I likely wasn't paying attention.
