Also guys on the new server I am prepared to donate the stone required as I have a plan that involves so much foible being destroyed. I will also help with the mob grinder if needed as that is very useful.

The new nether brick looks amazing. I don't know how I feel about all these new mobs though, especially this blaze thing. I like the look of the nether slimes though, wonder what they'll drop.

Do older maps (1.8.1) get upgraded (i.e. swamps looks darker etc) if played on 1.9 or do I need to create a new map to see the changes?

The new texture for the fire bomb things the ghasts shoot is nice. Haven't seen the new structures yet though.

Also just noticed, the skill bar keeps going up and down without me doing anything
it goes up when you jump (for testing purposes)
Snow Golems da best. Fence them in on a tower or a plot of elevated land and build a moat of lava around them. They pull aggro and the mobs just burn up.

1.8 server is a good playground for me
This is a furnace/cobble generator/lava pit on the left, with a flower generator shed on the right. The best part is that they share the same redstone mechanism so it saves a ton of space and helps stop people from digging up my wiring. This will be what I do at spawn for both of these. Also note pads are an underrated floor.
When a giant shroom spawns only one side I inspect, when I accidently click on an invisible block with a bucket of lava, since I was in creative it doesn't empty, and disaster commences.
