Ryan Howard made the legitimately stupidest play I've seen all year. Full count, two men on representing the tying/winning run, two outs, season on the line. AND YOU STAND THERE WATCHING THE PITCH. If it looks remotely decent like the ump MIGHT call it a strike, take the damn bat off your shoulders and get a small piece of it.

hahahahah, now you know how Mets fans felt in 2006. exact same situation. hopefully for you Philly fans, they don't fall off the same cliff! also doesn't it make you guys happy to know that Howard's 5 year extension STILL hasn't kicked in? man's gonna got roughly $143 million due to him over the next 6 years. imagine if those resources were used to sign Cliff Lee...

speaking of which, i don't see the Giants magic continuing. the Rangers are just a flat-out better team at every position minus 1B and C. i'd take Lee, Lewis, Wilson over Lincecum, Cain, Sanchez and the bullpens are a push (although if B. Wilson introduces any Ranger to the machine...). Giants are gonna need some serious breaks to pull this one out of the fire, methinks. but, hey, in a 7 game series, anything can happen. i hope it's a good series. also, proven winner Bengie Molina gets a WS ring either way. bully for him!

I enjoyed the game. I came in at like the middle of the 5th or something. Glad the giants got the win I'm pulling for them. Should be a good series either way though. Its nice to have different teams playing tbh.

The Giants have to be the luckiest team in baseball...so many mishits fall for base hits and our well hit balls all just fall short. We've been equal with the Giants this match yet we are frustratingly in a hole.

Stallion, yes. The Giants have been extremely lucky with are hitting this year, although you cannot fault our pitching, which has been absolutely stellar.

If the National League would stop being (BAN ME PLEASE)s!!

And putt the DH position in the NL. Maybe Texas would of been doing damage!

Have.
Would have.

Also what the hell, who walks in runs in the bottom of the eighth when you should be focused on damage control?
I have been waiting 19 years to see this though. Not gonna complain how we get runs.

It wasn't even damage control. We were down 2-0 and still very much in the game until their brain farts...words can't describe my anger atm.

Yeah, true true. What i was trying to say was yeah, the Rangers had a very good chance to comeback in the ninth until the Giants were given to free runs. Honestly, the Giants have been the luckiest team in the past couple years. Our has never been this good since we lost Bonds.

Heh at least you agree you've been lucky, for 8 innings that match was a dead even contest (which you guys had a slight edge in due to aforementioned lucky breaks) between two very good pitchers. If we'd lost 2-0 then and there, I'd have been disappointed but lauded Cain for an excellent performance and been optimistic about game 3. Now I have a permanent knot in my stomach of just anger at 4 straight walks just giving you the game. I never ever want to see Lowe (who was a big reason we lost game 1) ever pitch in a Rangers uniform for the rest of the postseason and 2) Ever pitch for the Rangers period at least for a very long time. Holland was worse today but he just needs to keep his confidence levels up as I've seen very good stuff from him before.

I live in sacramento ca and im a huge giants fan. just sayin :D
and it just seemed like this year all the pieces came together. buster poseys a beast, edgar renteria and jaun uribe are comin alive, we obviously have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball, we picked up freddy sanchez. i honestly wouldn't call it luck... how have we been lucky in the past couple of years? once we lost barry bonds, we started rebuilding slowly and slowly by getting linceccum, matt cain, and etc. and it's put us in the position we're in now.

Stallion no need to hate on the Giants. They going all the way baby. 11 and 9 Runs is not "lucky hits" lol. YES WE CAIN baby

The bullpen has easily been the best in baseball. They've been damn near perfect and that's why we've won so much. No other team has won as many 1 run games. Also hot bats during the playoffs from Jaun Uribe, Cody Ross, and Freddy Sanchez means the Rangers don't have a shot.

Go Giants!

Your reading skills must be downright terrible. Did I mention game 1? And this game, a few balls your players mis hit actually fell for basehits where as our well hit balls (Kinsler) fell just short. The way you're writing leads me to believe you're one of those people who just reads box scores but doesn't actually watch baseball and has no real idea as a result. You can tell vanguard watches the games because he agrees with me on the "lucky earlier on" assessment of game 2 (and he's a Giants fan at that)

You're a funny guy Stallion. I'll have you know I read perfectly fine. Last time I checked, the Rangers can't win unless they score, so yes, the Giants got lucky shutting them out. Game 1, LOL. Not many teams can beat 11 runs, not even the Rangers. 11 runs isn't lucky hahahahahahahahahaha. You don't score 11 runs on bloop singles.

ya honestly how can you call it luck when we SHUT THEM OUT. ya, the rangers almost hit one out BUT we scored 9 runs. are you seriously saying luck led us to score 20 runs in two games... come on now

It seems that neither of you above can fucking read at all! I NEVER MENTIONED GAME ONE HAVING TO DO WITH LUCK! I also never mentioned our eighth innings collapse due to walks/hits as luck. I'm talking about when the game was in the balance for the first seven, how we seemed to be unlucky and the bloop singles by the Giants all seemed to fall for base hits. That's what I was saying. I give Sports Arena too much credit for being intelligent, but seriously fucking read where I say "lol Lee was unlucky" or "We deserved to win game 2". That's right, I didn't say that cause thats not true so stop reading what you want to hear and actually look at my words!

whats with all of these bandwagon giants fans and etc. thats really annoying

i wouldnt call either giants win lucky, but last night was extremely tense, even game 1. Texas can rally really fast, and they'll probably show that sometime this series. Im expecting the giants to lose the next game (i think its at arlington) and after that based on pitching matchups

Pookar, I'm just gonna say I'm no bandwagoner. This is just the first time since 2002 (0 or 03 depending on how you wanna look at it) that we have had anything to cheer for.

And you really expect the Giants to lose in pitching? If Sanchez is under control, he can win game 3 and as long as Bumgarner can handle the pressure and control his stuff hes got a god chance. If anything the first two games have shown, its that the Giants can hit the Rangers and hit them hard, whereas the Rangers are getting shut down by the Giants starters (well, game run they were hitting but what with our 8 run lead we could afford a few and still be safe)

wth sanchez. 2 2out homeruns.
I don't get it, he could handle the pressure perfectly late season but as soon as he gets to the post-season he cannot control his pitches at all. Better than Zito though i suppose

Another great performance by Lewis! I love how everyone still underrates him when he was good all year - just the unluckiest pitcher not named Felix Hernandez! I wonder who's gonna get the start for us in game 4.
