Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I'm having extreme difficulties hitting my delay (I'm using PikaTimer). I get 485 one minute, then 469 the next and I can't seem to control it. I didn't even think 469 was humanly possible... Has this happened to anyone else?

It used to happen to me my first time RNG'ing. You just haven't really learned the speed you need to use to hit your delay, all you can really do is keep trying.

Good luck.

UUWarrior: It might be that you didn't hit 469, but you're hitting something higher than that and the search just found 469. In any case, using pikatimer should really be done for higher delays than your calibrated results. A delay in the 500s is pretty low, lol.

Okay, what should I be using insted of PikaTimer then?

Hm, I'll stick at it until I hit my wanted delay then.

Thanks for the good luck wish by the way.

Pikatimer is probably your best bet for hitting the delay. You might want to mess with the wanted delay and see if it changes the time so you can hit it.
But it can also backfire on you too >.< If you go too high or low, you could get completely off your wanted delay.

MeGaMaN X: I take it you're talking about DPPt? Varying save frames is the hassle in that game. You'll just have to resave and hope your save frame stays constant.

Shining Kestral: Yes, I believe so :)

It is a hassle. I've given up on it for now. I'm gonna try a new breed later.

Rng abuse

Okay, According to what Mattj said to me about rng, these are the steps on how to rng abuse on the pokewalker:

1) Have a pokemon already in your walker on the route you want, and catch EXACTLY ONE random pokemon (doesn't matter what it is)
2) Catch your target pokemon (MUST BE THE SECOND POKE CAUGHT!!!!!)
2) Set your DS Date to 2011-01-01
3) Set your DS time to 23:23:00 and turn it off then back on again
4) Wait on the very first DS menu screen watching the Clock
5) When the Clock reaches EXACTLY 23:23:59 Press A to begin HG or SS
6) DO NOT BEGIN THE ACTUAL GAME, instead go to the pokewalker section
7) Go to "recieve gift" and withdraw ONLY the 2 pokes you caught
8) the 2ND poke you caught should be Timid 27/8/30/27/31/31
But I would know how do I figure out the time and the date (on my heartgold game) (with the rng reporter) to get the timid surfing pikachu with this iv set on the pokewalker:
31/12/22/31/31/31 (68 Ice hp)

I think this is Wild Eeps guide somewhere on this page. Let me know if it isn't cause I'm not sure which page it is that I bookmarked lol.

Anyway, my question is, On Diamond I'm confused about the frame calibration without the use of an outside device. Do I fly to lvl 50 pokemon after I take the egg to find my frame ?

So literally after a day of trying, I hit my delay and get the Elm response I wanted. I place the Pokémon in Daycare, move up and down Goldenrod until the Egg is ready, but then as I went to collect the Egg, Balboa calls. After taking the call and collecting the Egg, I cycle up and down waiting for that Egg to hatch. When it did finally hatch, to no surprise, it was not shiny (I was looking for a shiny Magnemite on a frame of 1). My question is, would that call I took from Balboa have advanced my frame and interrupted the RNG process? I'll be pretty pissed if it did.

I've been trying to breed a perfect skorupi for a while. I've reached the point where all I have to do is pick up my egg at the right time. But that's my problem, I'm having issues with hitting my target time. I'm setting my DSi to one minute prior to my target time. Then I start up my game (which is Diamond by the way) and stay on the "continue/new game" menu and reset at my reset time. When I select "continue" again on exactly my target time, I'm not getting the right IV's....

What did I do wrong? What are other variables in determining the Egg's IVs at this point, when I've already calibrated frame (which has been calibrated to 5, by the way) and I am standing right in front of the day care man.

Do you calibrate your delay too?

alright. i can finally get the same frame. but i cant get the same delay. how do you do this? what creates delay?
first time rnging-platinum breeding

According to Sixfortyfive and Destiny100, to RNG HGSS roamers (raikou, entei, and lati@s), I can reset their IVs by killing the roamers and beat lance, is that correct?

EDIT: one more question, how about suicune IVs? does it set when I talk to suicune inside the burned tower?

1st: Yes they do
2nd: No, Suicune is a standard stationary Legendary, you can catch him at Cerulean caPe later in the game

My own question: In Emerald, does battling affect the frame advances?

tjtoot: Frame can be gotten easily - the only problem in platinum with frame is that you need to get your save frame. Other than that, you should get your frame 100% of the time barring careless mistakes.

1 second = 60delays
So it's not unlikely for you to NOT be able to hit your delay the first couple of tries. Your adjacent delay should be VERY close to your target delay though - a +/- 10 range. If not, you should probably consider updating pikatimer.

Is anyone able to answer this question?
