Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Well I always used my 501 calibrated delay and wanted delay of 639. This always, always worked for me, and I could hit my seed in 5 minutes.

Now, I have a 481 calibrated delay, and my wanted delay is still 639, but I never hit my seed anymore. Maybe I'll just try setting Pikatimer to a 501 delay and see if I hit my seed again.

If you aren't hitting it with a 481 calibrated delay, what makes you think it is 481?

I asked someone to figure out my calibrated delay earlier (Megaman), and he told me it was 481, so I've been experimenting with that.

Seed: 15160a67, Occident 324 gives:
Latias - Timid - 31/6/31/30/31/30 (HP Fire (70))

It appears a bunch of times with a Timid Syncher at the front of the party.

And as far as your Elm problem goes, just try opening the game, waiting 5 - 10 seconds, and then resaving the game. Sometimes the NPCs just don't behave during a specific save, but I've usually found that re-saving means I can get the first frame of a given seed.

Also, if you have any roamers going around, they will also advance your frame. Make sure you've noted any of those that you've got out and about.

Presumably, this would work for Latios as well, as they are both Method K, not to mention that they are in the exact same place.

I will try to try this saturday.

Well, did you use a synch when you caught that Mewtwo? As that might throw off your delay + seconds.

Well, I've used a synch for every legend capture to date, and never had any problems.

I also just tried to RNG with a calibrated delay of 501 a few times, and no luck. Are you sure changing the clock changes your wanted delay? That doesn't make sense to me. If it changes your calibrated delay, then that I can understand, but wanted delay?

Yeah you're not supposed to synch calibrate.
Calibration is synch-less.

Delay = how fast/slow you get in the game. That's all. Nothing else. If you change the year, that only changes what delay you want to get.

Oh I see, so I'm not supposed to calibrate with a synch? Well that would make sense, since I've never calibrated with a synch, I only used them for captures once I found my usual calibration, so that's my fault. In that case, can someone tell me my calibrated delay for these statistics:

Time: (Hour= 20) (Minute = 54)
Date: 05/28/2010
Characteristic: Highly persistent
Nature: Docile
HP: 231
Atk: 172
Def: 149
SpA: 229
SpD: 131
Spe: 203

What level is he? 70 right?

Hmm, well no luck after roughly 5 tries, my seed is still far off. I'll see if I can try changing my DS's clock a bit, hopefully that will help.

your not gonna get your 1st in 5 tries. it took me 4 hours for mine

To hit my first? I'm not hitting my first RNG, I'm just doing it with a different delay.

What I meant was, despite using the same methods I did before when I used to hit my seed with my original delay (501) in an average of 5 minutes, I was nowhere near my seed with the 491 delay. The Elm responses are way off.

Ok so I'm confused here. Changing the DS clock does what, exactly? Changes your calibrated delay? Changes your wanted delay?

Changing the year on the clock will change your delay. Going forward one year will drop your delay by 1. Going backward will raise it 1. Like, if I normally hit 600, and I advance the year by 10, I'll start normally hitting 590.

Edit: Actually, I think I'm lying here. Toast is right.

Edit again: Or maybe I am right? :P

It changes your wanted delay.
Edit: Beaten to it. His explanation is better anyway.

So, if I understand correctly, if my usual target delay is 639, and I change my clock up one year, then I will be hitting target delays of 638?

To those who have RNG'd for the Pewter City Lati@s, did you have to "calibrate" your frame like with breeding in D/P/Pt?

The easiest way to get (either, depending on which version of the game) Lati@s is to release it from the Pokémon Fan Club, find and KO it, and RNG for it right in front of Lance, right?

To my understanding, the calibrated seconds + delay is just a time that it takes to start up your game. This wouldn't change. The equation to create the seed uses both delay and year (among other things) and you can hit the same seed at a lower delay if you raise the year.

For example you have (and I'm making these numbers up)
Seed, Year, Delay
A12D3B99, 2010, 607
A12D3B99, 2009, 608

okay, so i'm trying to figure out my SID, but i ran into something odd.
my ID is 22277 and I'm getting 18 numbers
so i just add zeros to the other numbers or remove some?
or did i come with the wrong amount of numbers?
