Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Are you talking about the roamer or the Wondercard Raikou?

If it's the roamer, and it's the only legendary you've KO'd since you've versed the Elite 4, it'll be on frame 1. Your starting frame, however, will probably be 2 or 3. The RNG reporter will tell you how many frames you've skipped due to the other roamers, so long as you input the location they were in last when you saved.

alright, so i decided for my first RNG, i would try the crown beats.
amyways, i was gonna try this for crown raikou
"3B090283] 5] 31 / 11 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 30] Hidden Power Ice 70"
now, as a question, what would i have to get the right frame on my platinum?

It's been awhile since I've RNG'd, so I'm a little rusty. Can someone tell me what method to use for perfect wondercard IV's? I just downloaded the mystery gift Raikou and am trying to generate one with HP grass. I don't need to use seed or time finder, correct?

Use method 1 to search for the IVs. Wondercards are 2 frames ahead of method 1.
Example:
Method 1 frame: 6
Wondercard frame: 8

@Aco, not sure what you're asking although I'm not great with DPPt anyway.

The only thing coming up when i hit "generate" is a frame of "5". Obviously I'm not doing something right here. Could someone quickly guide me through the steps again? I'm sure my memory could be refreshed pretty easily.

Are you leaving the nature, etc. blank?
If so, up the Max Frame box.

Edit: Are you trying to do 30/Odd/31/30/31/31 ? (I think that's HP grass)
That'll give you more results than if you're trying for 30/31/31/30/31/31

Thanks Troggy that was really helpful. I feel like I'm getting the hang of it yet when I do the coin flip and search flips, my results aren't even on the RNG Reporter. Here is what I've been doing: (for reference, this is for the shiny gamestop raikou)

Target Seed: 2A0C029F
Target Frame: 513
Target Time: 12:33:01 on 01/08/2011
Target Delay: 660

I have been using PikaTimer. I have Platinum and I'm using 600 for calibrated delay. The timer gives me these results:

First timer: 46.00
Second Timer: 15.00
Minutes Before Target: 1

So I set my DS time to 12:32 and start the pikatimer immediately as I hit A. I back out and the DS resets, I start Platinum, and open my save. When the first timer hits 0 I SR. When the second timer hits 0, I open my save/hit continue.

The journal immediately pops up and I flip between pages so that I see the "defeated a wild _____"/"captured a _____" message 256 times since I need 512 advances. After I've done that I immediately start the game and get talk to the guy to get the Raikou. I check the IVs and obviously they're not right.

Then I exit out of the menu and do the coin flip. Am I doing this part wrong? I just do ten flips and enter it into the search flips option. Do the NPCs interfere with the coin flips? Because they're definitely moving around as I do this.

Whenever I'd do RNG'ing for eggs, I'd have the most trouble with frame calibration...I could actually get a nature and ability I wanted, but not the IV's.

I'm going to ID/SID abuse my Diamond. I know my combo's decided (so I press A when the timer ends) at the Red Gyarados screen, but I'm having trouble finding a spread.

I want Naive HP Ice 70 (Shiny). Problem is, I don't know whether to look for a spread that has an odd or even delay. The Diamond game data's erased and I don't know what it normally is since I've never RNG abused in it... is there a way to figure it out? Or should I look for a spread, check what I hit (I would like to know how to check this), and adjust my year accordingly?

If someone would point me in a good direction to find the spreads (OmegaDonut's Excel document isn't helpful... for me, anyway. I do realize it's a wonderful idea xD) too, that'd be great. I know someone's trade thread had a list of good ones with a low frame and blah blah in them, but I don't remember which.

Please and thanks ^^

It sounds like you have the right idea. The wandering NPCs don't interfere with the Coin Flips.

I think what you need to do is make sure you have Pikatimer set up correctly so that you are actually hitting seeds close to the one you want on an average trial.

So forget about Raikou for a bit and just try to hit your seed, checking with the Coin Flips to see how close you got. If you are consistently late/early you can use the Other Delay feature on Pikatimer to change the timer slightly. For example, if you are hitting 664 a lot instead of 660, put 664 in the 'Other Delay' and hit update. That will shorten the second timer a bit which should let you hit your delay easier.

Also, if you aren't seeing your results, expand the range to include a wider amount of delays (maybe +/- 50 or more), or even +/- 1 second to see if that is the problem.

It can be frustrating having to do it 'blindly', so you want to be pretty confident it will only take you a few tries to hit your delay once you start doing the actual trials.

I'm very very very close right now. I practiced with the coin flip and now I'm working on getting Raikou again. For the past three times I've gotten my target delay of 660, verified by coin flip. But I'm not getting the right Raikou so I'm guessing my target frame is off.

I need 513, so I need to advance the RNG by 513 - 1 = 512 = 256 page flips. Every time a page is displayed with the appropriate message, it advances the RNG by 2 right? I have

Pg. 1 - "Caught Roselia (late night)"
Pg. 2 - Filler
Pg. 3 - Filler
Pg. 4 - Filler
Pg. 5 - "Geodude was defeated (day)"
Pg. 6 - Filler
Pg. 7 - "Defeated a male Wingull"
Pg. 8 - Caught Pineco (evening)"

So when the journal auto opens I already advance by 2 since it's on the first page. Then I make my way to pages 7 and 8, advancing by 2 more in the process ("Geodude..."). Then I flip back and forth between 7 and 8 until I've counted a total of 256 flips. I start the game afterward and pick up Raikou right away.

I'm thinking I should just catch another pokemon so that the first two pages of the journal already have messages I can use? Anyways, the last three trials, I've gotten the EXACT same Raikou, so I'm not sure if my frame is off or I'm doing the journal wrong, but I know that my delay is right bc of the coin flip

You should see what frame you're actually hitting. What's your seed, and what are the IVs you got? What were you going for?

Ah, how do I check the frame I'm hitting?

This is what I'm aiming for:

Target Seed: 2A0C029F
Target Frame: 513
Target Time: 12:33:01 on 01/08/2011
Target Delay: 660

This is what I'm getting:

Actual Seed: 2A0C029F
Actual Delay: 660

I don't have exact IVs but I have a narrowed down range:

30-31/30-31/31/24-26/0-3/10-13

I've gotten this exact same Raikou three times now

Keep in mind that in DPPt all pokemarts have roaming NPCs so they will of course advance your frame. And since it takes a while to verify coinflip and all, I'm betting NPC have advanced your frame past your target when you talk to the pokemart guy.

I think is what Bakus told you already the NPCs inside the PokeMart are messing with your frame, to check in what frame you are falling just input the IVs of the result you are getting in the RNG reporter

EDIT: In the RNG reporter's main page if that wasn't clear and just click generate

Okay, two questions, hopefully not too hard:

1) What's the exact purpose of each of the methods 1-4, J, and K? I can't find this easily spelled out anywhere and I don't want to get it wrong again like I did getting Dialga above.

2) Any advice on finding a seed that generates a Shiny max IVed stationary poke? I have my SID (it's valid, too, I can hatch shinies easily) and I've been using RNG Reporter to do my time finding, but I can't find any actually good shiny spreads for stationary pokes (Method K, right? Maybe I'm totally off again, please let me know.)

Thanks, you guys are super helpful. I am absolutely loving RNGing so far...I can't believe I never bothered to learn it before.

You need a good ID/SID combo for wild Pokémon. You can get good IVs, just probably not shiny for wild Pokémon. The people that have good shiny legendaries have abused their ID and SID to allow them to get such wild Pokémon.

And you want Method J if you have a synchronizer, Method 1 otherwise in DPPt.

Method 2-K are basically a Sub-Variation of Method 1 if I can remember correctly so you can just take it like this:
Method 1 for Roaming Pokes, Cresselia, Beasts, Birds, Fossils, etc, and also for wondercard except that they are 2 Frames ahead
Method 2,3,4 are Only for 3rd Gen Versions
Method J are for Wild Pokemon and Legendaries in General except for those from method 1
Method K same as J except they are for HG/SS

Try Using PokeRNG, you just have to input the Data you want and the program will give you possible results for the Data you are looking for (post #4 If I remember correctly of this thread)

EDIT: Sorry, post #5 :P

EDIT EDIT: Same here Bakus, ninja'd!

1) Method 1 is for most event pokemon
Method J is for wild/legendary in DPPt
Method K is for wild/legendary in HG/SS

2) ID/SID combination must be abused in most cases to catch good shiny pokes. It works differently than in breeding I'm afraid :)

EDIT: Shouldn't have bothered with it knowing that Ima get ninja'd :P

If I remember it advances +3 but the problem is that there are no encounter slots for those yet, what worked for me when RNGing a shroomish was finding a tree where only shroomish appeared and not any other pokemon ^^
