Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok, I did another test and it works fine now. Wierd tho...

Anyway, I have another question: Does tapping on the happiness checker twice and NOT having the pokemon bounce count as a tap?

1. Save standing in front of the deliveryman. You'll also want to set the game up such that the Journal will appear as soon as you start the game and make sure that there is an entry that will advance the RNG, such as a defeated or captured wild Pokémon. It is crucial that the Journal come up immediately when you load your game.

2. Begin your cycle of soft resetting, remembering to set the clock on your DS each and every time so that the time when you "Continue" matches your target time. Instructions for reliably hitting the target time are found in the "Common Information for Breeding and Capturing Perfect Pokémon" section.

3. Using the target frame number, calculate and execute the required number of journal flips to advance to this target. For example:

Desired Frame: 101
Your starting frame: 1
Number of wandering Pokémon: 0
Total required RNG advances: 100

The formula for "Total required RNG advances" is desired frame - starting frame - number of wandering Pokémon.

Page flips: 50

The formula for the number of "page flips" is total required RNG advances / 2.

I don't get it, do i do this when the journal pops up when you start the game while your soft resetting or, do i do this then save the game and start resesting

Remember that each time a page with a captures or defeated Pokémon is displayed, that the frame advances by two, so if the Journal has captured or defeated Pokémon on the first page, this counts as a flip.
Does it matter what entry or how many there are per page?I'm doing it on a japanese game so that would suck but, when i start the game and the journal opens, one of the entrys on the page is catching a pokemon along with the other entrys.

So I'm supposed to use the DPPt Time Finder > DPPt Capture if I want to capture something like Giratina or Palkia or Dialga, correct?
What are some IV's I can put it in to get a worthy Mixed Attacker for Giratina? And would the same be if I wanted to do the same for the other two?

Or maybe some Delays that I might be able to hit? I mean, once I have the Frames and such, what do I do next? Fly over to Sendoff Spring, repel or run from every Pokemon? What about the people I meet?

Sorry for sounding like an idiot.

@ Sandman - The journal needs to pop up when you soft reset. There can only be one item on each page that advances the RNG, there will never be two. What items do advance the RNG are listed in the OP.

@ Girtina-Man - You really need to work through the directions. No one here is going to be able to help you until you have a certain level of understanding of what it is you are trying to do.

@ JacobDREADX - Sure, but this is not the place to ask about it.

About 'How to catch perfect pokemon'

I don't know whether this question have been asked before by someone.

If I hit all the requirements(Target delay, target frame, target time), how could I confirm what pokemon will appear in the wild?
(for example, I want to meet pidgey, but roselia is the one who come out)

Hello guys. I've been thinking what could have gone wrong with my case, and I thought about this:

My DS lite has got a sort of cartridge in the GBA slot that prevents it from dusting up. Could this influence the results I've been getting?

Edit: Finally hatched my first shiny. An adamant trapinch, with 31 in attack, special attack, and 30-31 in speed (must be 31, since both parents have 31). Thanks guys!

I have a question. I'm reseting Timid Heatran, and the spread i have chosen appears on 225 frame. Can I use the "GRASS / WATER / CAVES (Where there are wild Pokémon)" RNG advancment methods, or do I have to stick to journal page flipping?

Heatran's room is a "quiet" area, so that method will not work. If you go to an encounter zone to advance the RNG, be very careful not to overshoot and always use a repel to prevent random battles screwing up your advancement. It's easier and safer to just use the journal.

@ Andish: If you are referring to the one that comes with the DS lite, no it doesn't affect the results.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks.

I still don't understand what was going wrong then. It worked when I switched hardware. I tried on the DS Lite again this morning, and it didn't work still...

Wichu's program doesn't work (for me) on Windows 7 RC1 (Build 7100).

It gives me only spreads with Seed: 00000000 and ridiculous high frames

EDIT: NVM, probably Windows Update was the problem....it works now fine.

i have a question about breeding shinies once you put in the details for the level 50+ poke and then get the list of all the egg PID things are those egg PIDs for EVERY pokemon you will ever breed? for example i found an egg PID with adamant and it said happiness checker taps 124 and coin flips 6 does that mean every time i do those taps and flips and then breed an egg it will be shiny(supposing i checked shiny only box) with adamant nature regardless of what pokemon i breed?

@ Infergnome: It is independent of the Pokemon you breed, but the PIDs are changed every time you start the game (unless you start the game with the same time on your DS clock and hit the same delay). If you do those taps and flips WITHOUT turning the game off, then the next egg you breed (regardless of what species) will be Adamant shiny.

I have also a question about the Wild Sweet Scent part;

What is which slot here?

Okay so if there are no NPCs on screen will the frame stay at one, or will the frame change if there are NPCs in within the area but, not on screen?

For Frame Calibration Phase

When we catch a wild Pokemon does the frame change if we Fly to another place to catch a high level pokemon?

So let me get this right...I'm RNGing a Heatran. The frame number I want is 2. So, if I save 1 step in front of it then take a step forward and battle it that'll be the right frame number right?

It would be if Heatran were in a place where wild pokemon would be encountered. However, it's not. You'd have to step 128 steps with one pokemon in your party to advance by 1.
