Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Awesome, can't wait to try it out. Although I'm not meaning to be ungrateful, but the length of time to search my shiny spreads was a pain in RNGReporter, especially considering I'm using a high frame and large range of delays. Took me about three hours just to search one nature.

EDIT: Where are th results output to?
They're output to the spreads1.txt file (depending on the method, the number changes). In the version linked at the bottom of this post, wild Pokémon spreads are also output to a CSV file.
Maybe like RNGReporter's?

Seed, Offset, PID, Shiny, Nature, Ability, HP, Atk, Def, SpD, SpD, Spe, Hidden Power, Hidden Power Power
404028e,3146, 751406c8, !!!, Adamant,0,30,30,30,10,31,31, Water,70

I gave it a go. How about this?

That's because method J isn't supported. It was originally designed for Emerald, so only breeding and methods 1, 2, and 3 are available. To find method J spreads, search for method 1 spreads, then input the seed into RNG Reporter to find the method J frame.

Check out the files it should have created. There should be a spreads1.txt and spreads1.csv file (assuming you used method 1); pick whichever format you like ;)

I'm going to write a guide on using this.

where would i find these files?

@ Wichu - Your post is actually the 2nd one in the thread right now. Since the instructions were detailed and long I decided that it just needed to be it's own post. You can now edit that post as you see fit. I will still add a brief description to the OP.

Will an European ditto and an US other pokemon work with the international option for breeding shinies? I tried it once but it didn't work, but it might have been my own error.

Thanks Syberia, I was able to catch a Flawless Modest Eevee on the Trophy Garden. Now to the Ditto.

And now I was able to catch the Ditto. Too sad that it's not international, but maybe I'll catch one on Jap. Platinum just for the Easy spreads.

Method J works by looking for a nature via an RNG call and then making as many subsequent RNG calls as necessary to locate a PID with that nature.

Actual is basically those calls.

It is useful for when you want to know what you will get next, after sweet scenting something.

This will be documented better at some point in the near future when I finish my research bits on it and find a good place to work it into the OP.

Is hard resetting to get a certain seconds more accurate since you have access to the actual DS clock (which no matter what will be more accurate than an external clock)?

Like if you wanted to be sure that you started at second 0.

Shouldn't be a problem, so long as your DS clock is synced to an external clock.

I wouldnt think that it would matter, the purpose of syncing it is to make sure you hit the right seconds, if you're seeing the seconds you're hitting I would think it would be slightly more accurate.

What I find works even better is syncing it to a watch timer.

For instance, if I need to hit a spread at, say, 18:15:44, and it takes me 14 seconds to complete a reset, what I do is go into the DS clock and set the clock to 18:15. Press the A button and your watch timer at the same time, and go into the game. I then reset when the watch reaches 0:30 seconds exactly, meaning I'll land in the game at 18:15:44.

For me, it's generally more accurate than syncing it to a clock, although overall it shouldn't matter too much, as your seconds should be remaining consistent anyway. However, it beats having to wait for your external clock to complete a minute.

If there is a legend that falls outside of my normal delay range and I adjust the year to adjust the delay, is there anyway to catch it with a reasonable year? I have to catch Heatran in the year 2062, and I'd rather have that be more reasonable after my Space Duck fiasco.

Mingot just explained that in DMP >>

Runners' IVs are set once you activate/talk to them, so after you do that you can change your clock back to the correct date.

Of course I didn't think of this when I caught my Mesprit XD

@Tase. I'm aware of that trick for runners (at least now I am :D). The problem is immediate-catch Pokemon like Heatran. Once you get him in 2062, I can't think of a way to get that down to a regular year.

Because you can't. You have to catch it in 2009 and try to get the right delay. EE got it to work, maybe ask him for tips.

Personally I prefer to catch the runner immediately after setting its IVs. The last thing you want is to mess up the frame number or something like that and save on a useless runner.

It's easy if the runner is shiny. Then all you have to do is encounter it to know you hit the right seed\offset, and then you can catch in on a more normal-looking date.

Yeah, that could be a problem. I didn't have this problem on my Mesprit, as the frame I was aiming was a shiny one. So, I saw the shiny, let him go, and saved so I could catch it on a reasonable year.

For Zapdos/Moltres/Articuno, you could always target just one of them on the frames, but you can check if his frame is correct by catching one of the others and checking its IVs/Nature. So, you can save, change the date back, and catch the one you're aiming on the right year.

Edit: Beaten by Omega...
