Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yeah my comp does that, too.
I've got a bunch of RNG assisted pokés regardless.
It is nice to have something to blame when you mess up though XD

Oh I've never really tried, I did at first but I was afraid it would mess me up so I'm just using a different one that I stole from the kitchen. XD

Alright, so I've worked out all of my other kinks and just hit my time and delay right on (15 secs; 598 delay), but for some reason my frame was off by 6 (shooting for 62 and got 56). I don't think that NPC movement could cause this much variation; so, what might be some other causes for my error? My frame required 27 journal flips: 1 for the first page with a caught Pokemon, and then 26 more following that.

It seems you calibrated a frame of 8, but the frame you got when you got your egg was 2. I suggest you try again and instead of doing 27 total, try 30, which makes up for the 6 frames lower. Normally the NPCs would only make you off by a few frames, but you were off by 6.

Yes, and thank you so much for that tip! I finally hit that spread, and it was my first RNG'd Poke. I guess my save frame was not 8 as I thought

I'm having a rather strange problem. So I used Wichu's program to find some shiny spreads so that I could soft-reset for Giratina-O in platinum. So I did what Wichu's guide said to convert it to Method J in RNG reporter and it still showed up as shiny in RNG reporter. I followed the steps detailed in Mingot's guide on how to catch perfect pokemon and was eventually able to hit the spread I wanted, unfortunantly upon catching Giratina the nature and all the IVs where right but for some reason It was'nt shiny. Any Idea why this might be happening?

I also think it's worth noting that I had the same problem masterdelux247 brought up a while back about the frame advancing by eleven when the journal is used in the torn world.

Well if you got the right IVs and nature, you clearly have the wrong ID and SID.

I'm trying to capture something and the RNG reporter gave me the wrong coin flips, it told me I needed T/T/T/H/H/H/H/H/T/T, I was going for hours, trying to get that but once I started checking what delay I hit, I found out that I should've been going for
HHTHHHTTTT as that is what I got when I hit my seed.

EDIT:WTF I hit the seed again and got different flips.

The coin flips are all over the place, I find out I hit the seed after capturing something and because I'm Pokeradar RNGing it's nearly impossible to get what I want after that =(.

OH. PokéRadar RNG sucks :( I want a high stats CAPTURED Shiny Togepi.
I wish there was a perfected method.

EDIT: Also sorry I PMed instead of posting in your thread :(

So I just did everything I needed to get a flawless chimchar. Moved my frame to 20, got the perfect order of 10 coin flips, took the egg and saved, but the IVs aren't waht they should be. And yes I'm sure that the parent's order was correct. Flawless ditto is A. The spread should have given me A/31/31/31/A/A but i've got a bunch of 3s and 18s and stuff that shouldn't be there because the sucky chimchar was parent B.

IDK what I did wrong!

It's fine, I just put it in my signature then. Trying to not rely on the coin flips but hit the frame and capturing something every reset.

The frame from the movements of the people >__>. I'm not a pro at this but you should have the journal open when you press continue, do the journal flips then get the egg as fast as you can, hoping you get the right frame.

Well I did grab the egg asfast as possible after I did the flips...I guess I was just really really unlucky because I'm 100% certain that I got the correct 10 flips, and that i didn't have the order of my parents reversed (The baby's IVs are 13, 3, 28, 31, 2, 31 and neither parents have a 13, 3, or 28...haha...)

Damnit. It's not too bad to do the soft resetting for delays. It's getting a naive shiny that's taken 3 days xD

If your frame is high enough, it may be possible to abuse it with pokeradar because it overwrites the encounter slots if you are on a chain sometimes.

Wichu's program only has method 1, so the frame it gives back is the method frame, but it is off by 3 frames. So you always have to put it in RNG reporter and set it to method J and with or without syncher to find out what frame you need.

Also, Chaos was right earlier. People are used to using the sweet scent number 2. One is from the monster frame, and another from the sweet scenting. Target - 1 monster frame - 1 sweet scent =148 /2 = 74 Journal flips.

Thanks, LF. I've abused the RNG a couple times for wild pokemon, including that Gastly, so I've got the hang of it. But I'm still a bit confused - if I put all Wichu's Program's information into RNG Reporter (IVs, frame, seed, synchronizer), will it give me all my possible options for each spread? I've only done this with two spreads, but both times RNG Reporter has only spit out one option for seed and frame and whatnot (this is in the main screen of RNG Reporter btw). Is this just coincidence for these spreads or what?

Oh also, I'm having trouble hitting my 616 delay. Is there any way to make that a little bit higher besides lowering the year? I'm already in 2001. It seems like I only get delays that low unintentionally when I'm shooting for something in the 620s. >:(

You should plug in only the seed and syncher. Don't limit it by specifying the frame, because if there are other options, they will be on different frames.

K lemme try that...

No dice. Could it have anything to do with the fact that these spreads have a small number of frames? Sub 300, to be exact.

Edit: Okay I got multiple options for another, much higher spread, so there must just be one option for the other two. Oops :P

You don't start on frame 6. If you want to tell me where you saw this, maybe in an example in the OP, it could get fixed. You find out what frame it is for your egg, and do it every time. Since you got 5, use 5.

1. Begin your cycle of soft resetting, remembering to set the clock on your DS each and every time so that the time when you "Continue" (your target time) exactly matches what was generated by the time finder.

2. Flip to a page where it says captured/defeated [Pokémon]. Do this three times to advance the frame from 6 to 12. No more, no less. Do not count the journal's initial appearance as a page flip. Each flip to a page with captured/defeated advances the frame by 2, so adjust accordingly based on your calibration frame and your target frame.

Hmm... Thats where it says (I think) it starts from 6-12.
And how would I hit frame 5? If the journal is opened at the beginning then i'll be on frame 3? How do I hit the 3 frames?

Or am I doing it wrong?
