Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I think there are some errors in the process of finding the frame

After you catch wild pokemon,
- Open 'Seed Finder'
- Then choose 'find initial seed by stats'
- Input all the data required, the year, month, date, hour, minutes, the wild pokemon's status and nature. (All of these data you get from the moment you soft reset) Then click "FIND"
- After you get the seed, then go back to the main window of RNG reporter
- Switch the method to "DPPt breeding"
- Click "generate"
- Hatch the egg
- Search the IV of the pokemon that hatched from the egg

There you go, that's your frame
Oh, now I see what I did wrong. xD I was looking for the IVs of the Pokemon I caught, not the one I had in a an egg. XD Thanks.

this is probably a stupid question but how come palkia and dialga are frame 1 if you have to walk up to them before you fight them in pearl and diamond?

If you are doing the calibration phase for stats, and you catch a pokemon at for example lvl.48, can you use rare candies to level it up to level 50?

The steps don't count, because they're scripted. I think that's what it is.

However I'm pretty sure that the RNG only advances per step if it's somewhere you can find pokémon. I think in places with no random encounters, the RNG advances by the number of your party every 128 steps only.

What you're saying is that is what you got from an input in RNGreporter's Seed Finder? You must have screwed up something and put in incorrect data. 0 seconds is humanely impossible.

EDIT: I was thinking in the context that you soft reset the game on the start of a minute. :P

No 0 seconds is possible (unless it shows up as 60 if on the minute, correct me if I'm wrong). The seconds number is what second of the minute you were on when you pressed continue. You're doing something wrong. Make sure you're resetting exactly on the minute, and mashing A as fast as you can, then catch your Pokemon right away. Your delay says that you're waiting too long to enter the game - Mash A all the way through.

Sorry, I'm not much of a help. xP 0 seconds does show up on the RNG Reporter though. Just do what Chaos said. And make sure you DS time is synchronized down to the second with an external clock. Start your game about 15 seconds before the next minute. Then right on the minute, SR and mash A as fast as you can until your in the game. Thats how I did it and it worked. :)

Can you give us more context of the project you're doing? (I.e. breeding, catching, what you're doing so far, etc.)

Calibration is important because it gives you a target range to search for when you're looking for seeds to hit in RNG Reporter. How are you going to search for spreads if you don't know what Delay and Seconds you hit consistently?

ColdEye, you clearly don't understand. Re-read the calibration phase instructions.

Yawg, as far as I know, it doesn't. Everytime I did journal flips with "Lured Pokemon with a sweet aroma" on one of the pages I passed it didn't affect my frame in any way.

Hrmmm, well my journal opened up on THAT, with no pokémon capture on the same page, and I was 2 frames off >.>
Although I did something else, does USING a Max Repel (not having saved with one on) advance the frame?

I really don't get it. I When I saved the game and have verriefed my game at least 2 days after my date my current frame is 6. I have checked this two times. But now when I looked in the time finder I found a good spread. the frame that I must have is 14. So i did 14-6:2= 4. Then when I picked up the egg and have reached my right delay I still haven't my right iv's. I have RNG abused egg more then 10 times and this has never happened to my? What do i wrong. I am really frustrated. Does someone know, does frame change If you do a whole other date or something like that ?

Is it unrealistic to keep resetting my platinum game until I get a shiny timid hp fire 70 spread? Any idea of how many resets it could take?

OMFG!!! What the hell? lol
I've RNG'd a lot now, and up until this point, nothing has baffled me.
But TWICE now, I've hit my seed/delay and all that, and have hit the pokémon 2 frames ahead of the one I want.

417 is my frame
I walk one square of pokémon grass to make it 416
Then I subtract my monster frame, sweet scent in grass, so -2
414 / 2 = 207 Journal Flips ... am I wrong? And I AM counting the one I flip open to.

Don't get me wrong, Naive Roselia 30/31/31/31/31/31 isn't bad, but it isn't as good as Naive _____ 30/31/31/31/31/31 (secret, its for a big giveaway)

EDIT: Okay this time I PURPOSELY left off the 2 from sweet scent and I GOT my Naive DITTO 30/31/31/31/31/31.
There seems to be something in my journal that is causing an odd flux. Perhaps, I dunno.

Im currently trying to do breeding without having weird years, with journal flips advance the frame by 2.

So if I aim for 17, my initial frame is 1, it will be 8 flips.
But one flip counts when entering a page with the necessairy criteria, exiting it won't effect the frame unless I return to the same page correct?

So for 8 flips it would be enter, exit, enter, exit, enter, exit, enter, exit, enter, exit, enter, exit, enter, exit, enter.
That's what I understood from the explaination on the front, I think im on the right track but just making sure.
