Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Well, do the coin flips would help, but not if he missed his delay by a lot. That's why I always suggest catching a poke. Also, do it AFTER you got your pokemon (doing the journal flips correctly and everything).

So, if you did get the right delay, you wouldn't miss the wondercard.

But after collecting the pokemon how is it going to help?

ok thanks.

Am i suppose to do this after i change the time etc and collect the pokemon or before i collect the pokemon?

Steps
1. Use wondercard method in rngreporter
2. Seed to time
3. SR on your sync time and try to hit your target time and delay
4. Do the flips when the journal pop up
5. Collect your wondercard pkmn
6. Do flips to see if you hit the right delay
(or do as Pehu said and go capture a high level pkmn to see the second and delay you hit)

If you didnt hit the delay, then just try-try again
If you did hit your delay, then rejoice

Pehu method is the safest because
a 14 calibrated second with delay or 602 can have the same coin flip as a 15 cal second with a delay of 615.

You will KNOW by how much you missed your delay, and you'll do it right the next time, instead of simply mashing your A button blindly, time after time, and wondering what did go wrong.

3. SR on your sync time and try to hit your target time and delay

ok thats awsome
Am i suppose to do a calerbration face before all the steps you told me?

@dragonboy52
did you look for that frame yourself or did you find it on a smogon list? because if you find it yourself with rng reporter method I you have to add 2 to the frame.

I managed to get a really nice 6/31/26/31/31/31 eevee. I was unable to find a seed with a perfect one, even with setting max frame to 12000.

PokéRNG D/P is now available!
I completely recoded it to remove all the bugs. It doesn't quite have all the functions of the old version (it's missing CSV output and average IV search), but it should be a lot faster. If anyone wants me to re-add those features, I can do so :)

Oh, and as the name suggests, it's designed for the 4th gen games. As such, it only provides Method 1 (and hopefully Methods J and K eventually). If you want to generate results for Emerald, then use the old program.

Yea. Im first to download

I have a question thought
On the new one, will all method 1 pkmn show up in methodj or the rngreporter because I had a problem with this in the old program?

I running a test result now

I have several questions about manipulating your ID/SID. I know it's a lot, but most of them are just a yes/no answer, so if someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

  1. Would you consider this process difficult? For those of you who have done it successfully, how long did it take on your first attempt?
  2. The ID/SID is set when you press A to dismiss the actual TV screen (with the message about "The Red GYARADOS failed to appear, even to the crestfallen team..."), meaning that I would want to pause at this screen and hit A to dismiss it when the timer strikes 0, correct?
  3. I simply verify that I've hit my seed by checking the ID number on my Trainer card, as the chances that I've hit a different nearby seed that got me the proper ID but the wrong SID are slim to none, right?
  4. The way to check to see if I need to adjust the timer is to take the (undesired) ID that I get and run it through the right column of Pandora's Box along with time/date of SR and what I feel is an appropriate range of delays (and check the delay that corresponds to the ID that I got), correct?
  5. Does this same program work for HG/SS? If so, going back to question 2, at exactly what point is the ID/SID set in those games?
  6. What exactly does the "Infinite Search" checkbox do?
  7. Does the PID box apply to Egg PIDs as well?
  8. Without attempting to get a specific ID/SID combo, I can get a list of possible SIDs (to narrow down later in the game) by inputting my ID, time/date of SR, and what I feel is an appropriate range of delays, correct?

I think I'm having a similar problem that dragonboy52 is having; I am trying to hit the same spread as he is for a wondercard Jirachi.

I'm doing pretty much everything he is, but I can't ever seem to hit my spread. The delay I need is 656 (I'm using PikaTimer) and I'm using a calibrated delay of 631. The problem is I'm consistently hitting delays ranging from 652 to 660; I'll only hit 656 about 20% of the time...does my timing just suck or is there something more to it? Probably a stupid question, but is there a way to make sure I keep hitting the same delay once I've hit it once? I don't understand how capturing a Pokemon as Pehu suggests would help; doesn't the coin flip trick already tell you whether or not and by how much you missed your delay?

What's even worse is that on the very few times I manage to hit the delay I want, I always seem to miss my frame by 2. I'm pretty sure I can count to 70 properly, it's just annoying that even when the NPC doesn't move and I've counted to 70, I pretty much always seem to hit frame 143 instead of 141. Why? And speaking of the NPC, it seems half the time he moves before I can talk to the delivery guy, further fucking things up.

I'm really frustrated as I feel like this thing is within my grasp, but that there are just too many variables left to chance. I have to make sure I hit the right delay, hit the right frame (this should be easy but like I said for some reason I keep being off by 2), hope that asshole doesn't move, and I don't want to even think about the 4% chance that I'll get the nature I want.

Please tell me there is something I can do to make this easier. How can I make sure I consistently hit my delay. What am I doing wrong with my frame count. What can I do about the NPC?

Thanks.

No, not all Method 1 frames are available with Method J. Most of them should be, though.

I cant tell you anything about pikatimer since im new to it

but for the NPC
Go to a pokemon mart that have 1 NPC, like Jubliee or life (what the name is)
Stand in front of the man.
When you think the NPC isnt going to move for a while, save.
After you save, see how long it take for it to move. If it move soon then save again, but if it moves slow then start trying to rng then.

Just notice, did you search for your own frame in method1 or did you use a sample seed?
If you search your own frame in method 1 just add 2 or just plug the seed in rngreporter wondercard pokemon and it do it for you.

Other than that

Someelse can only help you with pikatimer , sorry :(

Wichu: Thanks!

Also, if you're having problems finding a Method J frame, you should try using a Syncher if you're not already. That will get you nearly all the Method 1 frames ;)

Yea, I have been using sync pkmns. Let say that it shows in method 1 but not method j. If I just add 2 to the frame and use the seed and seed to time, will it work?

Okay thanks, I'll try the tip for the NPC. The seed I'm using is one of the recommended one listed in part 5 of the rng guide. So I shouldn't have to add anything, correct? Also what do you use to hit your delay if you don't use Pikatimer, is there a better program?

I have several questions about manipulating your ID/SID. I know it's a lot, but most of them are just a yes/no answer, so if someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

  1. Would you consider this process difficult? For those of you who have done it successfully, how long did it take on your first attempt?

It took me less time to abuse my ID/SID for the first time than it took me to RNG abuse egg IVs for the first time. Less than 2 hours on HG/SS. Then, the second time it took me 1 hour on Platinum.
  2. The ID/SID is set when you press A to dismiss the actual TV screen (with the message about "The Red GYARADOS failed to appear, even to the crestfallen team..."), meaning that I would want to pause at this screen and hit A to dismiss it when the timer strikes 0, correct?

In diamond, exactly. In Platinum, it's not the same message, but the idea is the same. You should calc to finish your "New game" process with at least 10 extra seconds, since that screen take about 4 to 6 seconds until it can be dismissed.
  3. I simply verify that I've hit my seed by checking the ID number on my Trainer card, as the chances that I've hit a different nearby seed that got me the proper ID but the wrong SID are slim to none, right?

If you know the seconds you've hit, only the ID in the trainer card will be enough, but you should input it in Pandora's Box right column anyway.
  4. The way to check to see if I need to adjust the timer is to take the (undesired) ID that I get and run it through the right column of Pandora's Box along with time/date of SR and what I feel is an appropriate range of delays (and check the delay that corresponds to the ID that I got), correct?

    Correct.
  5. Does this same program work for HG/SS? If so, going back to question 2, at exactly what point is the ID/SID set in those games?

It's all in Pandora Box. The ID/SID is set when you confirm the last message before your character is taken into the game (that is the message before he starts to shrink and become a game sprite)
  6. What exactly does the "Infinite Search" checkbox do?

It just searches for the options you've asked in all the possible years, what takes a very long time, and if you are not searching for a specific ID/SID combo, is not really useful
  7. Does the PID box apply to Egg PIDs as well?

Don't know, but you wouldn't need that for Egg PIDs, as getting a shiny spread for a flawless IV spread is a lot better than for a Nature/Gender/Ability egg combo, as there are plenty of shiny eggs possible.
  8. Without attempting to get a specific ID/SID combo, I can get a list of possible SIDs (to narrow down later in the game) by inputting my ID, time/date of SR, and what I feel is an appropriate range of delays, correct?

I don't think I've understood this last question, actually. If you could explain better to me what you mean with "narrow down later in the game", maybe I'll be able to answer that one too.

Hope I could help you. Good luck.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I'm following the steps word for word and the RNG Initial Seed Finder is failing me.

I save. Turn of the game, reset. Check the minute I hit continue. Catch a Pokemon at level 50, then input all the data. Yet it says the data is off, saying I need to check the date and time, when it's 100% correct.

Every time I enter the date, hour, month, year, minute, and stats, it's absolutely correct. Yet no matter what happens, it always returns to me the error message to check my time. What the hell is going on? I did it once and it did give me a seed back, but since then it keeps giving me error messages.

What on Earth is wrong?

Blitzenith, are you 100% sure on the time? DS clock is on the 23-hour system. You could be thinking 3:54 is 3:54 PM, when it's really AM.
