Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

You can't RNG the Pokewalker yet, but what I do know is that there are only 256 possibilities for the PID. Which means with the right ID\SID, that's a 1-in-32 chance of scoring a shiny.

Just asked in the Stark Mountain SQSA thread if shinies were possible in the Pokewalker... thanks for confirming it!

I've never heard so much as a single report of a shiny in the Pokewalker, so we can't be 100% sure yet (maybe it deliberately avoids shinies). But that may have to do with the fact you have to specifically RNG the ID\SID for it, which most people haven't done.

it seems the Pokewalker has provided more answers than solutions.... YAY!!! Surfing and Flying Pika... but wait... theres a fuckin catch!!! :O
(damn you Game Freak....)

It could work like Wondercard pokemon. If it should be shiny, it just changes to a different one. But this is pretty cool. So there are only 256 different possible spreads from the walker?

256 different possible spreads, but IVs and PIDs are not linked. Or at least you can get multiple IV spreads on the same PID.

I've been playing around with a different amount of taps of the bottom left corner station. When I did one tap, it was 4, which was right. Then I did two taps, and got 9, but it should have been 7. However, when I tried a second time, it was 7. I tried three taps, and instead of getting 10, I got 11. Does anyone know why my frames are so inconsistent?

Is there a way to ensure you encounter a certain wild pokemon while RNG'ing? It would be terrible if I advanced the frame a thousand times and didn't run into the one I wanted.

If its DPPt, check the encounter slot for all Method J pokemon. This will tell you what pokemon it'll be. HGSS Encounter slots have yet to be found.

Can I use this guide to RNG Ho-Oh in HeartGold after obtaining the first eight badges, or is there some other guide I should be looking at/objective(s) I need to complete beforehand?
Any tips for a beginner?

I'm new to all this, so please forgive me if it is all common knowledge.

I'm getting some very weird results trying to calibrate my average seconds on HG. My delay range seems to sit around 491-499, but the seconds reading makes no sense. As far as I can tell, it seems like the seconds reading is referring to the seconds from SR to battling a wild pokemon, rather than hitting continue. I cannot understand why it's doing this. Can anyone help?

Does anyone have an idea of why this happens? I'm having the exact same problem trying to RNG for Lugia. My normal seconds when I calibrated were 13-14, but every Lugia I've caught and checked has had a seconds number that is very high, between 20 and 50, and it really seems like it's being based on how long it takes me to start the battle.

Omg thank you so much that was so clear and direct. I see what I was doing wrong! I didnt even click on the timer option, on the front page of the program, I used that instead. Yes, I think I did get that mixed up as well; Oh I feel so silly >.< Ok I have the seed now and the PID of the pokemon I want. It has a frame of 5 as well. Now I have this information, Do I have to switch programs for the next step?

Edit: Oh, do I just right click and follow "Generate times" and then just turn my DS clock to close to that time?

Sorry I probably shouldnt be bumping this but I feel like I am so close to finishing this process. How to I figure out how many frames my target pokemon needs and where I am at currently with my frames in my game?

Hmmm... I'm trying to abuse my ID/SID but I don't know what the values to put into PikaTimer.

My calibration takes me a delay of 7700s-7800s and 133 seconds to get into the game.
My target is 7805.

What do I put into PikaTimer? Such as my calibrated second and target second?
Do I enter the second value/60? Or do I input 133 seconds? I get really strange numbers from PikaTimer. I don't even know what to put as my calibrated Delay >.<
Thanks :)

EDIT: Hmm... Im close to hitting my delay but it's by trial and error :) and messing with PikaTimer. Would still like proper info :)

EDIT2:

Ended up doing this, but changing the first timer to 60 so I can reset at :00. Not entirely sure if this is correct but I got my ID/SID abuse done so Im happy :)

Can anybody help direct me to the seed of a perfect jolly method J poke with Ability 1? I cant seem to find it in the Excel. :(

EDIT: Offering a cred for it.

Did you catch shiny raikou w/ fast ball b/c it matches his colors? :P
That's what I'm planning when I get to it.

Btw, how competitive is your shiny raikou? Like nature, IV, and hidden power? And was it a really high frame? I'm using frame 21.

It's Timid 31/31/31/31/31/31. So, yeah, not properly competitive because of Hidden Power Dark; but pretty good otherwise. Frame 114, I think.

At least once you know what wild Pokémon you need to hit with Sweet Scent for your seed you don't need to work out its IVs any more; for mine, it had to be a male level 14 Rattata, relaxed with a sturdy body. After the Sweet Scent I needed 91 radio advances, and thhere you go!

I managed to hit a male level 14 Rattata that was proud of its power and naughty about ten times, and a male level 14 Rattata that was proud of its power and serious about 8. Plus a docile one with a Chilan berry quite bit.

Okay so whats the smallest frame to achieve a perfect jolly pokemon (31/31/31/x/31/31) the lowest I found was 2809 if you can find a lower frame I will give you a cred in my shop. Seed must be reachable with in diamond.

I just wanted to update that although I was never able to figure out why my frames were so inconsistent, I did manage to catch my Lugia. I ended up using the bottom left station for one tap, and then calling Youngster Joey for the rest of the frames. This was also after the responses from my Pokemon increased the frame when I checked for delay. Thanks to those that responded!

That could be your problem. I've found that everytime I use the radio to advance after talking to the partner pokemon, my advancements have gone inconsistent. But congrats on getting your Lugia:)

Ugh everyone seems to be able to get Lugia before I can! I can't seem to hit my delay even though the delay numbers always seem to be like 2-3 numbers away on both sides.

I'm also experiencing some inconsistencies in Vermillion City as I'm trying to hit frame 14 for latios but oftentimes get frame 13 or frame 15 instead. Here's how I have setup so far:

1. already fixed power plant
2. already received lost doll for the copycat girl
3. saved standing in front of door going out from fan club

At start, on a Sunday, I have radio already tuned into upper-left channel, then tap the lower-left, then upper-left then lower-left which oftentimes gets me to 13, but if I hit the upper-left again thinking I should get 1 more frame in, I seem to get 15 instead. I don't see any NPCs inside the fan club unless there's an outside NPC that's affecting this somehow.

Yeah as things are it is most likely that there is a NPC outside indeed that causes this.
Or are you going for a Shiny Spread?
Because the second thought was that it might be that the game rejects particular Shiny Spreads for the Lat.
Anyways maybe it might be the best to RNG the Lat at Elite4s (after defeating it) in order to respawn, as this can get REALLY frustrating EE.
This is what I plan to do for my perfect Timid HP Fire Spread^^

We believe that the NPCs in the town move durning when Steven walks up to you. And if you advance the frame, the NPC moves differently. It might be a spread that's impossible hit due to that.

Yeah this is most likely the case

I'm really not after a shiny spread though I might resort to that since catching latios is not so high a priority.

If I defeat it, will it respawn at time of talking to Lance again in the E4? or elsewhere? (ugh!)

I didn't try yet but I suppose it's just the same as the Dog Roamers.

Also: Questions for PHS Seed Verifyer:

1. Can I respawn the dogs as many times I like? Means, I defeat them respawn at E4, defeat them again, can respawn them again?

2. Do I have to catch Lugia or will killing it also suffice for story proceeding? Will it respawn as well or will it just be there again when I enter the cave at another time? It would be not very nice if killing it would make it vanish:/
