Well, the bascially accepted method is to find a spread you want with a frame that the starter already has, and then abuse your ID/SID to make the spread shiny.
I think the starter's frames are on the first page second post, and the link to the ID Finder programme for abusing your SID. You then just have to try and hit the seed and see if the starter is shiny or not to know if you hit it. There's no consistent way to advance the frames at that point, so going for a zero frame advancement is the best method.
