Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Here's my spread. Naive, 31/27/30/30/31/31, with a frame of 998.
Going for heatran. Monster frame of 1.
How many journal flips do I do? And why? Does monster frame affect this?
Any other advise?
And when using method J does the synchonizer go infront of the party?

998 - 1 (for heatrans' monsetr frame) = 997/2 = 498.5 since you have a .5 here it means you can't just do only journal flips so instead you should bring an odd number of pokemon (5 pokemon would be best and do 128 steps to advance the RNG by 5 frames so no the number of journal flips you do is 998 - 1 - 5 (for the 128 steps you did with 5 pokemon in your party) = 992/2 = 496 journal flips is what you have to do. So to repeat you do 496 journal flips, then walk 128 steps with 5 pokemon in your party and you should get your heatran. The synchronizer ALWAYS goes in front.

***If you have any roamers out you will have to factor them in by subtracting 1 from your target frame for each roamer.

Awesome-thanks!
And just to make sure, if I have a seed, I don't need to use time finder? I can use Seed to Time?

yes just use seed to time it will tell you your delay, target times, what coin flips correspond to your seed and the adjacent seeds, etc.

I'm landing on uneven adjacent frames. Target frame is 18, and I'm consistently landing on frame 17 of the adjacents. Is there something I can do to make it more likely to land on an even frame?

first rng attempts. problem. im trying to RNG a gyarados by fishing for magikarp at lake acuity. im going to dump some data and then i'll describe wtf is going on.
ID 10034
SID 15073

Method J
Target stats: 31 31 31 X 31 31
Synch Nature: adamant
nature: any

Seed: 0ce02c2
Delay: 620
date : 2086 06 30 Time:14:54:34
----------------------------------------------
ran search in time finder and got frames 75 77 83 as possibilities.
----------------------------------------------
K. so. Ive run this multiple times. i calculated the target frame 75 as needing 128 steps (5 pokes) + 33 journal flips. 75-(5 running around)-(4 fishing monsterid)=66/2=33 journal flips.

i didnt know what to do so i looked around and read that you could check ivs and see what you actually hit using the main window. (MAIN WINDOW SEARCH, not TIME FINDER where my poke appears) got the poke listed in main window frame 80. MULTIPLE TIMES. =(
(hardy 17 14 21 18 14 5)

i tried not doing the running and just doing flips, thinking it would adjust for itself by bringing the frame down 5. i hit 80 frames again.........retarded. does anyone have any idea wtf is going on here? much appreciated for any help.

Whats the difference between searching in the main window and searching with the time finder in relation to frames/target frames? the list isnt the same at all. the only thing i could see is that time finder has the synch whereas normal window does not. The normal window search doesnt even recognize that its possible to generate this poke. =(

Hi there. I'm trying to RNG a pokemon in my Pt, but RNG reporter won't load (and I want this really soon; Once i have time to mess with my computer, I'll download it.) This is the pokemon:

Shaymin - Modest
IVs: 30/x/30/31/31/31 HP ICE 70

ID: 07310
SID: 47509
Seconds: 14
Delay: 616

(For the attack IV; I'm not exactly sure what attack IV makes HP ICE 70. I think it's 31 or something, but I'm not sure.) So will someone find a seed to get this spread, and then convert it to time, frame, ect? I would REALLY appreitiate it! (I don't really care weather it's shiny or not; I'd prefer shiny, but it doesn't matter)

I'm RNGing for a seed whose target time is 12:58:24 on today (5/30/2010). The clock is going to roll over to 13:00 during my radio frame advances, and thus the station changes from Pokémon Search Party to Silver Drama... is this going to be a problem at all? Will the station change while I'm on it, or only if I completely detune and go back?

Also, do the commercials advance the frame by the same amount as the show they're played during?

With the help of some posters itt, I managed to verify I got my shiny egg. Now, before I RNG for its IVs, I jsut want to check on this sentence in Chamommy's guide:

If you have a frame of 15, you match the calls until frame 14 and get out of Pokegear and start talking to the Daycare man as fast as you can.

Is that get out of PokéGear as fast as you can, then talk to the Day Care Man as fast as you can, or just get out of the PokéGear at any time then talk to the Day Care Man? What are some tips for being fast? I have weak hands and slow reaction times, so I'm a bit worried about this OTL. Thanks.

You get out of the pokegear one frame before, such as the call of frame 14 with Elm would tell you that you should get out of the pokegear and talk to the Day Care Man as fast as you can. Also I recommend using both the stylus and smashing A to go a bit faster. Press that back button thing with the stylus on the bottom half of the screen and at that point continue pressing in that area and smashing A until you get the egg.

You can just exit the PokeGear at any time, as the frame wont advance if your not doing calls or anything. And then yes she means exit the PokeGear by pressing B or the arrow in the right bottom corner and then Mash A as fast as possible so the one (of course nintendo has to put one moving NPC in the area...) NPC doesnt move and advance your frame. Id just suggest getting a comfortable grip on the DS before pressing A lol thats what I do... And if your worried about the NPC moving before you can talk to the daycare man then just see if he beats you the first time, see what frame you did hit, and then adjust the advancements to that :) (Ie if he advances 2 times before you collect the egg subtract 2 from your frame)

Unless you are slow or something happened you should be able to open the Pokegear before he moves the first time and when you close it he should move so you hit your target frame as talking to the Day Care Man does not affect the RNG.

On the very last call just prior to the egg frame, I use my thumb pad on the lower right corner of the screen. When you press that section, you make the conversation with Elm continue until the end. Once it has ended, you are directly on the go back section of the screen (arrow turning in a circle) and as soon as you hit it, you are directly on talk, which means you are talking to the daycare man without any delay.

If you're using a DS Lite or original DS, insert a GBA cart in the slot to change your delay from odd to even and vice versa.

Thanks, Chamommy. Since I'm having trouble now finding a seed, is it bad if I stick my max frame up to, say, 31?

How can I hit the delay? I keep hitting 484 and 486 when my target is 485, and I just can't seem to hit it...

You can also change the year to give you odd delays.

I think 31 is possible....if you feel like hearing Joey talk about his Rattata 15 times. If you give me your specifications, I can help and search one up for you.

Ahh! Thank you! I don't have a third generation game to put in the slot, so I can't change it to odd (non pokemon GBA carts apparently don't change it) but your answer did tell me that the problem is that I actually can't hit this delay. I'll find another seed.

Thanks, you saved me some time and frustration lol.

You can also read Kuja's post, he suggested something else ^^ But yeah you can't hit it without modifying the date / cart status.

Thanks for your offer, Kuja, but I managed to get one once I realised there were operators for <. =)

Okay, something's DEFINITELY not right here. I was told that the quickest and most reliable way to advance my frame in an area with no wild Pokémon was to do the following:

  1. Load the game with the radio detuned.
  2. Tune it to Pokémon Search Party or Silver Drama (assuming one of these stations is available) by pressing the bottom-right button on the touch screen (frame increases by 1).
  3. Give the D-pad a brief and slight press to where the station continues to play but with gibberish text; this counts as detuning it.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 as often as needed.
After painstakingly many attempts, I finally hit my seed, and I was after a Kyogre on frame 206. My roamers dictated that my starting frame would be 4, and since Kyogre's monster frame is 1, I would need to do the above process 201 times (4 + 201 + 1 = 206), correct? I did exactly that, and the Kyogre I got had a spread that can only be found on frames 1, 3, 7, 9, 11, and 15. Since the spread is not on frame 5, I must have advanced the RNG at least twice, but I was supposed to advance it 201 times.

What's the deal?

Here's your problem. Just moving a little off the station (garbled text) isn't enough to advance the RNG. You need to completely detune the radio to the point that it isn't receiving anything at all. Hold down on the D-pad until the cursor hits the edge of the display, then hit the tuning button again.

A-ha! I had always thought that you had to go completely off of the station, but was recently told otherwise. Thanks for the reply... I've got my Kyogre now :).

Having trouble with shiny eggs in HG/SS.

So I got my delay, put the parents into the Daycare, and reject the egg until I got Frame 14. I take Egg 14, and hatch it. Wasn't shiny. I look it on on RNG Reporter and said I got Frame 24 or something like that. So I tried calling Elm to advance ahead, but that didn't work either.

Here's some things that might have messed me up.

1. NPC Movement
2. Calls from the Daycare Man
3. At one point Joey called me wanting me to rematch.

This is tougher than I thought...
