Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Does using an item advance the RNG at all? I'm going for frame 93 (method J) on seed 52140289, and the first time I hit it, I messed up, forgot roamers, and got frame 96. However, this time, I did more calculations, hit one below my frame, used a Max Repel, and got frame 132 instead.

For HGSS, will a GBA game in the slot change odd/even delays consistently, if at all?

It will change your delay to the other. For example, I have an even delay without a GBA cart for SS. But when I put it in, I get an odd delay.

the past two pokemon ive hatched for iv have had incorrect att iv's. the seed was supposed to be 31's for attack, but the attack ivs were incorrect, while all the iv's were correct. can anyone explain what may be happening?

Is this correct?
I'm going for this spread.
PID: 0703b6e4 (MODEST, ability 0) 30/10/30/31/31/31 (Seed: 061204f4 Method 1: 59, J (synch): 2, J (no synch): 42, K (synch): 4, K (no synch): 12) HP ICE 70
Using Pikatimer.
In pikatimer,
calivrated delay: 602
Wanted delay: 1258
Calibrated second: 16
wanted second: 16
first timer: 49.07
Second timer: 26.93
when the first timer hits 0, I hit start on my AR.
When the second one hits 0, I start the game.
But my delay is doesn't show up with any coin flips. Why?

Hm...

Does having a Pokemon with its IV's still checked (using the "Stats To IV's" AR code) in your party while trying to RNG in Platinum affect the outcome at all?
Because I have been having some bad tries. Not a single one in a day has come out to what I want and it usually doesn't take this long...

Make sure that you set your adjacents to go to their max for delays +/-99. Use at least +/-5 seconds.

Also, you may want to have room for one extra caught poke in your party besides the legendary. That way you can check the exact delay you landed on using the Seed Finder function instead of looking in your adjacents with Seeds to Time.

Since your frame is so low, it's easier to just check what delay you landed on with a caught poke, if you can check it by it's IVs, that is. Even then, you can just go catch a level 50+ poke and check by stats. You do your advancements, catch the legendary and immediately catch another poke. You use the second caught poke to check your seed.

What's the best way to calibrate for ID/SID abuse on DPP? Just press A at a steady pace? Is it even necessary to calibrate if you're using PikaTimer?

Not really. Whenever I abuse I just aim for a particular time for calibrating. Like when I did my Platinum I pressed A after 2 minutes to end the TV show. That way I could easily hit it. Found the delay, then used PikaTimer to hit my target delay.

Great, thanks.

I've been reading and re-reading the first page for most of the day, and all I've gotten out of it is a headache. Here's what I understand:

Initial seed is determined by a formula involving date/time to the second and the delay between when you get to the continue screen and when you select it. PlatinumRNG.exe should tell me my starting seed, given the correct input, and it can then be verified via RNG Reporter's Seed to Time tab, checked against a number of Prof. Elm call responses.

I may need to calibrate one or more of the programs to get true results.

I can adjust the date/time on my NDS in order to influence the initial seed.

Aside from that... How does one figure the Delay, considering that the continue screen fades in and out? What do I do when PlatinumRNG.exe reports a seed to me that RNG Reporter won't accept? Where do I go from there?

I'm just trying to cut down the time I spend breeding pokemon, and increase their overall IVs at the same time. Is there anyone available to mentor me as I try to wrap my mind around this system?

No, the delay is the time between selecting the game (or soft reseting) to when you press A on the continue screen. Where do I go from there? I've never really used PlatinumRNG, but it sounds like Wichu's RNG. To find delay, first save in an area with high leveled pokemon and a way to catch them. Save. You need to have a clock/watch that is synchronized for this btw. At the top of the minute, soft reset and tap A as fast as you can until you are in the game. Catch a pokemon, and go onto the RNG Reporter. Go to the DPPt Seed Finder. Input the time you entered the game and the IVs (you can use stats if you are in the Find Inital Seed By Stats). Click find, and a small list should appear under that. There should be only one match (if more, look for one with a delay around 600). That's the delay you hit. Repeat a few times and find your range.

I'm just trying to cut down the time I spend breeding pokemon, and increase their overall IVs at the same time. Is there anyone available to mentor me as I try to wrap my mind around this system? Feel free to PM me when you need to.
Comments in bold.

I just successfully abused my ID/SID on my Platinum ROM! It was soooo much easier than I expcted. I now have the following shiny spreads:

Timid 31/31/30/30/31/30 HP Fire 70
Lonely 31/31/30/30/31/30 HP Fire 70
Bold 30/15/31/31/29/31

I plan to use the Timid spread for Shaymin and the Lonely spread for Giratina, and I might use the Bold one for Regice. Does anyone know of anything else I could use these spreads for?

By how much does an happiness tap advance the RNG for eggs? It depends on the number of Pokémon in your party but what's the realtion? Açso, just opening the happiness tap poketech application advances it by how much?

I need a simple answer it this question. very simple.

if its so simple then you could have figured it out yourself, check what delay you're hitting by catching a pokemon, find its IVs, or you can use the stats, and use seed finder to get what seed/delay your hitting, then adjust pikatimer accordingly to get the delay and target time you want.

I have a simple question, I want to guarantee the nature of my offspring is exactly what I want it to be. I have 2 power items on a ditto and an eevee, and I just want to breed a certain nature without delays and spreads and stuff.
