Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Alright, thanks. I know (I think) that the encounter slots are random, so any tree will work, right? Or should I find a Shroomish in a certain tree first?

according to other sites, Shroomish only appear in headbutt trees in Viridian Forest, so there would be a good place to start. Yes, for now we don't know the encounter slots for Headbutt tree Pokemon, so you'll have to go by trial and error.
 
I've discovered that it's worth butting trees until you find one that has your target poke showing up more often. Most trees have three pokes in it, but some trees have two. I found a slakoth tree like that (it and one other poke) and another with combee (two pokes only), plus another with shroomish (two pokes only). It makes it easier to hit a frame with the right encounter slot.
 
I found a tree in Viridian Forest that's given me Hoothoot, Noctowl, and just now, Shroomish, and another Shroomish. I guess I'll just save in front of it and RNG from there. Luckily my Seed has the frame 8 or 9 times, so even if I get a Hoothoot, I can still get a Shroomish without resetting. Well, hopefully.
 
Yes, but check the actual (method 1) frame of your target spread. If it is higher than the last target frame by method k, that you're out of luck if you get the wrong pokemon, because your frames will have advanced to the actual frame the moment you get a wild pokemon show up.
 
A flawless Adamant Hoothoot isn't really worth anything, is it? Even in a Level Ball?
Because I just got one! Yeah I'm resetting now, screw the Hoothoot.
 
LOL, I caught an adamant pineco just for the hell of it, and an aipom with pickup. They're female, so not a big loss. Breeders.
 
Yeah, too bad Noctowl seriously sucks. Oh well. At least I sorta learned something. Now I just have to get a Shroomish instead.

Adamant, Poison Heal, 31/31/31/~/31/31, but here's the weird thing: it has Pokerus. How likely is that?

Obviously very likely, since it has it? >.<

Edit: Tooned, yes Heatran is a frame of 1. So to get 125, you'd need to do 124 ÷ 2 = 62 Journal Flip.

As for my question I am attempting you RNG a Magmar outside Fuego Ironworks.

79010e15, with a frame of 9.

So I have 5 pokes in my party, Timid synch in front, with a sweet scent in the middle. I hit my seed first time nicely, I do that turn since it's in the middle of the grass. It should have advanced my frame by 5, so I do 1 Journal flip, than do sweet scent, it comes out wrong, so I go to see what I did wrong, and what frame I had hit. It came out to being like frame 5?

So I redo it again, Except this time I move down (cuz I was facing down), to advance the frame by 5, and all that jazz. This time it comes out to frame 6?


Uhh, what the hell am I doing wrong?

You are prolly going to need to narrow it down further.
 
Sorry :D i get 3 possibilities in hp iv at metalkids iv calculator. Can i enter it empty in rng reporters chain to sid

I cant narrow it it says it needs lvl 50 but there is no that much rare candys in game :(

Ok, I have three Pokemon in my party. That means, for every 128 steps the frame is advanced by 3.

I hit my delay, and now my aim is to get 126 as a frame. Since I have three members, and Heatran's Monster Frame is 1, I subtract 4 to find the amount of Journal Flips needed. 126-4=122/2=61 Journal Flips.

So I do the Journal Flips, switch to the step counter and walk 128 Steps. I talk to Heatran to finally advance the frame to 126. After a long and frustrating battle to catch this demon, I come out with the spread of frame 127... I've tried this 3 times with the same result. What am I doing wrong...?

No roamers out at the moment, and I'm in a cave where there is no Wild Pokemon besides Heatran. However, I should verify this info.

EDIT: I apologize, there were roamers... However, I didn't know until I started walking around and they appeared... Thank you for your time and dedication to answering my questions. :D

The first page is an amazing reference when you have questions, look at it, the following applies to the games you are both asking about:

- Attempting to fish and getting the message 'Not even a nibble...' advances the RNG by 1 seed.

- Attempting to fish and getting the message 'The Pokémon got away...' advances the RNG as if a Pokémon had been encountered.

I posted both cases but I assume yours is the first. By 1 seed it means 1 frame same thing.
 
Okay, I get why I was not getting magikarps. Nevermind.

Where are the good places to fish that are NPCless? Besides Iron Island.
