Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

@TiccyBoy;
You can use a Shiny spread at Lance, as long as you've got your ID / SID correctly, and you haven't already caught the roamers.

Ok, soo my target frame is 41 and it says frames advanced by 2 do i then have to advance 39 frames?

Also just when i think ive landed on my seed and delay there is another delay with the same locations. I keep landing on it how can i land on the right delay?

thanks

I think you should advance by 38 frames, because encountering/receiving Pokemon advances the frame by 1 more, but if encountering/receiving Pokemon is included, then yes, you'll advance 39 frames overall.

And you should alternatively use elm calls (which also advances frames by 1 per call) to confirm if you've hit the right delay. Just keep trying.

Hope this helps.

Ticcyboy - frame advancements you do = total frame - remaining roamer frame - monster frame.

So...your frame advancements would be 41 - 2 (I'm assuming two remaining roamer is where this number you posted came from) - entei/raikou/lati@s frame (they're different I think but can be found on the first page).

Erm, how you do the advancements is by radio. Alternatively, you can also walk 128steps with the correct number of pokemon in your party to reach desired. Just make sure it's divisible :)

Im Trying to rng entei and its on a european version so its frame is 1 so

so would the frames be - 41-2=39 - 1 ?

hope that makes sense lol

You can also do PokéGear radio tunes in addition to that. PokéGear radio tunes are far faster.

Ugh, I gotta learn to read. 3 hours of sleep does do that to you.

Anyways, a radio tune is just taking the little dot on the PokéGear radio and moving it down to the bottom right until you see text. If something other than Buena's Password is playing, you've just advanced the frame by 1. Move the dot back to the center of the PokéGear radio, rinse, and repeat. Buena's Password plays at certain hours of the day, so if you didn't see it on the first radio tune, you probably won't have to worry about seeing it at all unless the hour changes.

In case you needed clarification.

Not sure if this belongs in PRNG or SQSR, so if it's in the wrong place I apologize.

But I'm looking for lists of Method J/Method K spreads. I've been searching for a Modest 31 / 31 / 30 / 30 / 30 / 30 spread for a few hours now and am not finding anything.

If someone's got something similar to the Method 1 spreadsheet in the abuse guide, I'd appreciate it.

In case I might be doing something wrong, here's the parameters I'm using.

Year: 2009
Max Frame: 1000
Min/Max Delays: 700 / 1000
Method: Method K
Synch Nature: Modest
Nature: Modest

IV Spread: Listed Above
Ability: any
Shiny: no

Gahagan: Try downloading pokeRNGDP from the first page. Also increase your delay search range. When going for catches, you can't be so picky with the delays in comparison with breeding.

Ticcyboy: Congratulations ^_^

The spread you posted is invalid for a Method 1/J/K PID. Those are your options, go to the shaym.in link and read the instructions on how-to replicate the photo and get your seeds.

I prefer using this over PokeRNGDP because it is much faster for non-shiny spreads, and it gives me seeds to hit on any date on pretty much any range of frames in a reasonable delay.

I'm going to RNG the Enigma Stone Latios in SS, but I'm not sure where to save exactly so that I may soft reset for the correct nature, IVs, etc. Can someone help me out?

Other relevant information would be appreciated as well.

Klutch: Save in front of the birdy :) Just be careful of roaming NPCs, it's the same as other stationary legends :)
I might be able to live with the NPCs lol. Just to be sure:

1. Latios is Method K even though it indirectly came from a wondercard?
2. I can use a synchronizer?

Very basic questions

I'm trying to RNG the Shiny Raikou that was just given away at Gamestop. I read through the Guide a little bit and I think I'm done with calibration. I did 10 trials and got a delay range of 590 - 604 for Platinum.

My target frame is 513. RNG Reporter tells me that the delay should be 660 on the target time.

1. So, my first question is how what do the different delays mean? I guess I'm asking how to reconcile this difference between my actual delay and the delay given by RNG Reporter.

2. How do wandering NPCs affect the RNG, particularly in the Pokemarts? The guide mentions how to determine if there are any NPCs in the frame but I didn't see anywhere what they actually contribute to the RNG.

Bah, I got the same bad result twice now, so any advice on this would be appreciated. There must be something I'm doing wrong.

I'm trying to get a Modest 31/31/31/31/31/31 Dialga from the Sinjoh Ruins/Arceus event.
I am saved inside the ruins, directly in front of the spot to step in to activate the weird cutscene and receive Dialga. I am under the impression that this will only up the frame by 1, but regardless, the result I've gotten twice now is not even in the seed I'm supposedly in.

Using RNG Reporter's Time Finder I found my spread using Method K (maybe that's wrong for the Sinjoh event?) at the following seed and frame:
Seed: DD000242
Frame 40 was the target. My roamers are all KOed, so after I hit the seed I called Elm 39 times (hitting the expected result each time given my seed) so that my target was the next frame, then very quickly stepped in the circle and activated the event.
Instead of a Modest 31/31/31/31/31/31, I got a Naive X/X/X/X/X/29 with HP Grass, and none of the results in 10,000 frames in the given seed matched up with the ranges of expected IVs (I don't use AR so I didn't bother with the work of getting exact IVs here).

This was my third RNG project, I've already successfully RNGed a 4 max IV Suicune and hatched a shiny 31/31/31/31/31/31 Cubone. I figured after those that this was totally doable but there is something definitely wrong here.

Any advice is much appreciated! If you need to know anything else I'd be happy to oblige.

The Sinjoh Ruins pokemon are Method 1

2. How do wandering NPCs affect the RNG, particularly in the Pokemarts? The guide mentions how to determine if there are any NPCs in the frame but I didn't see anywhere what they actually contribute to the RNG.

1. If you are going for a delay that is outside of your 'button mashing' calibrated range, you are better off using a timer like Pikatimer or Zomgtimer than worrying about the calibration.

A timer allows you to put in the 'calibrated' delay (600) and then the delay you want, and it will set up timers to let you know when to reset your game and continue in order to hit your delay and time. From there you just make small adjustments to the timer until you are able to hit your spread regularly.

There is information in the PRNG help thread about the timers.

2. Wandering NPCs will troll you in Plat, which is why you need to RNG the wondercards by having the Journal automatically open when you boot up the game. Then you'll do your flips and when you exit the journal pick up your Raikou as quickly as possible.

Yes, this does mean that you are not able to check your seed before doing your advances, so it is important to calibrate properly before attempting to hit your frame, as doing ~250 journal flips does take some time.

One last thing, if you have any Roamers currently roaming in your game (Mesprit, Cress, Birds), that affects how easy it is to do some Wondercard spreads. For example, if you have no roamers, the Wondercard Pokemon will have a Monster frame of 1 and you would simply do the number of journal flips required to advance the RNG 512 times (512 + 1 = 513). However, if you have 1 roamer, the frame you hit would be 1 past your target (512 + 1 + 1 = 514).

This means that if you have an odd number of roamers, you will be able to hit even frames easier, but if you have an even number, you'll be able to hit odd frames easier. I bring this up because the little 'pause slightly' method to advance by 1 frame isn't as easy as it sounds...I tried it.

Just for your information, if you want an HP Grass Raikou, there is also a spread that is on a much lower frame: 30/30/31/30/31/31 Grass 70 (Seed 72130786 Frame 13). Yeah it may be the lazy way out...but it's what I did lol.

Hope this helps.

Im now currently trying to rng raikou i have entei and latias still roaming so does raikou keep his frame of 6?

Btw im on a european version, thanks
